This is beautiful 🙏🏻 It puts me in mind of my favourite lecture by Alan Watts called “Love of Waters” where Alan reflects on his deep appreciation of the ocean and how in his words: “If ever I have to get away from it all and, in the words of a Chinese poet, “wash all the wrongs of life from my pores,” there’s simply nothing better than to climb out onto a rock and sit for hours with nothing in sight but sea and sky.” Here sits Yakushiji San on his very own rock gazing meditatively onto the ocean…the Heart Sutra echoing through his heart and mind…dreaming of beautiful compositions of chant and music to bring to our ears. The waves lapping softly as they have done since the time of The Buddha and for all eternity before and beyond 🌊 To quote Alan Watts once again: “Although the rhythm of the waves beats a kind of time, it’s not clock or calendar time. It has no urgency. It’s timeless time. Because I know I’m listening to a rhythm which has been just the same for millions of years.” Thank you Sincerely 🙏🏻 I really appreciate this offering ✨ Gemma 🙏🏻✨🪷🕊️🌊

Good morning. 🙏 The sea at night brings a sense of calm to the soul. Life’s ups and downs, like the waves in nature, are unpredictable and beyond control. Listening each day reminds me that what I truly need to confront are the waves within myself. Recognizing the presence of my ego and overcoming it is the path to make my life more spacious.
