@@mrbtapir No its the entitled, pampered, overpaid, spoilt brats playing the game who have their heads so far up their own arses they fart to speak that are the problem. Yes the powers that be are shit scared of the players but the fault lies with player's discipline. they have none. Its why they cheat and get away with it. Only 3 people speak on a rugby field: 2 skippers and the ref so any issue the skippers are called in and its THEIR problem. If you argue over a penalty the ref walks 10 yards further forward. Argue again its another 10 yards. Refs in football pander to the 22 egos on the pitch rather than taking control.

I think it has more to do with the rules: in soccer all players are able to appeal directly to the ref in play and when it’s stopped-appealing to the ref and discussing the game with him is not just allowed it’s expected. That’s not the case in rugby where only the captain can talk directly to the ref and only at certain times-of course, the ref can talk to anyone at any time!
@christianbarnay2499
@christianbarnay2499 5 ай бұрын
@@steadadelica No. The rule about talking to the ref in football is captain and goalkeeper only. The problem in football is not the rules. It's the lack of enforcing them. And that lack comes from all football authorities from FIFA to National and District authorities always siding with players against the refs. Football refs are all alone against everybody. They simply can't do their job.

The thing that makes Nigel Owens so good, is that he actually understands the game, wants the game to be a spectacle and isn't prepared to ruin it by incessantly whistling for minor indiscretions that have no influence on the outcome, unlike [insert every other referee here] [ especially Wayne Barnes]

Excellent referee, just has the right amount of rapport with the players without being overly pally, tells players what they are doing wrong and importantly what they are doing right (positive re-enforcement).
