2000's was the best era of basketball tbh, Kobe, Shaq, Iverson, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, KG, Tim Duncan, Vince Carter, T-Mac, Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, Dirk, Amare, Yao Ming, C-Webb, Gilbert Arenas, Dwight, Z-Bo, Jermaine O'Neal, Elton Brand, that Pistons squad, Pre super team Bron, young Melo and DWade, Athletic guards like Baron Davis, Steve Francis and Stephon Marbury. Todays NBA just doesn't hit the same fr.

@ tbh its a combinations of a lot of things while it can feel like a decline. Mostly lack of mystery for the players. Idk but the star power of the nba was that most superstar players were not in the media space so you only rarely see or hear from them. Also another reason is everyone including nba mass media like espn and inside the nba all are complaining about the product on the court saying it’s bad, regardless of what the game is or how the game is played, eventually you’ll see this everywhere and then think yea maybe it is bad. And finally players don’t have any unique talent or abilities and player development is rushed to a certain degree where players barely are allowed to fully blossom into an elite player aka laury aka franz a lot of teams don’t see future super stars or even stars. Idk I can name at least 15 players who were drafted 17 and up and still have a lot of great talent.

Max, this is a great video. Mixture of some good ol' NBA Action "courtside countdown", the Shaq and Kobe bit was great, some rare footage in there, feels like we're right in the middle of that magical era, but in 2023. VC, Shaq, Kobe, TMac, Iverson, Ray Allen, Duncan, J Kidd... what a freakin era.

The greatest of the NBA when it came to competition. No jacking up threes the entire game. Only certain players did iso. The defence was more physical. It was more skill than athleticism. No social media at the time. And the All-Star games were something to be excited about. Damn, I wish I could time travel. 🥹
