10 minutes of pure Cadillac V-Series.R LMDh sounds in action at Imola Circuit!

Back to last September when Cadillac Racing was at Imola Circuit to test their LMDh car ahead of the 2024 season, during which the Italian track will host a round of the FIA WEC (World Endurance Championship). I've already uploaded a couple of videos from this test but I hadn't yet shared with you the dry part of the second day.
So enjoy watching the V-Series.R in all its glory, in an exposed gloss carbon fiber finish, pushing on the Italian track!
The Cadillac has been developed under the "Le Mans Daytona h" (LMDh) regulations which allows it to be fielded alongside Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) entries in the Hypercar class of the FIA WEC or in the GTP class of the IMSA SportsCar Championship. Compared to Le Mans Hypercar (LMH) rule set, in which there's much more freedom in designing the car, LMDh teams are forced to rely on one of the 4 chassis manufacturers chosen by ACO and IMSA (Dallara, Ligier, Multimatic and Oreca) in order to have a base from which to build their own vehicle. Cadillac continued their partnership with Dallara, taking most of the experience from their previous DPi-V.R into the new project.
The V-Series.R is powered by a Cadillac LMC55R 5.5-litre DOHC V8 linked to a 7-speed sequential gearbox and to the mandatory 50kW hybrid system.

As a flagger, you can definitly tell where the Caddys are on the circuit even with 40+ other cars on track. The downshifts sound like a cannon is firing. The video doesn't quite do it justice. You don't hear the car approaching you, YOU CAN FEEL IT!

My favorite car in world motor racing at the moment , looks out of this world and sounds better than any race car on the planet yet still represents Cadillacs road cars both visually and engineering wise. A true instant classic of a race car in my opinion.

@@tnhn1903 While there are many cars I love, including this Cadillac, my all-time favorite has to be the Ford Focus WRC car, I got to meet my childhood hero, rally driver Henning Solberg at Rally Australia in 2009. He graciously signed his hat and gave it to me when I was very young but a very passionate fan of his, I was very emotional when he gave it to me and is still something I consider to this day as my most cherished memory in all of motorsport and maybe all of my life. I have a shelf in my room dedicated to him with his signed hat and a model of his Focus WRC car as well as the photo I got with him and my family. For me, nothing else in my lifetime will ever compare and Henning will forever be my racing idol.

There is an car for that. The 2022-2025 Cadilac CT5 V Blackwing.. Amazing Street/Track car. 6.2L Supercharged V8. 668 horsepower. A quick-shifting 10-speed automatic is optional, while a sublime six-speed manual comes standard 659 pound-feet of torque and can be had for 98k starting price. AMAZING CAR. I was at imola for the 6h race and can say: in person this car is by far the most beautiful sound i've heard that day. It's a car that you feel when it passes throught you, that engine was by far the loudest on all grid it sounded like a beast!

Please Cadillac, WIN the 24h of LeMans this year !! The ideal would be for the best car (the winner) to be the one with the best sound, to try to set a trend and encourage other brands to use engines with a larger displacement and therefore a bigger sound, even if this is not liked by others. the anti-purists who want 100% electric and silent cars. Generally, a very noisy car gives the sensation of power and speed, but in recent years that does not seem to be true. It would be very nice if the winning car were actually the car that had the best sound.
