Alexis Davis imo is Rousey's most exciting W! The overhead, knee, hip toss combo followed by like 12 hard strikes directly into the face looked like something straight out of a video game!
@hahahaha-ut6ir10 ай бұрын
I was gonna say the same. Who forgot that one?
@FunkyFlunky233210 ай бұрын
I wasn’t even a fan of MMA when that fight happened but that’s the most memorable highlight I’ve seen of Rousey which I still see get posted occasionally. I’m surprised its considered forgettable considering how rare we see those types of hip toss finishes. I think you’d have to go all the way back to the early days of the UFC to see something similar like when a black belt trapped their opponent in a crucifix and slammed several unanswered elbows into their temple.
@jeremybooth672010 ай бұрын
I remember that one. I also remember that Davis was out from the throw, the strikes were perfunctory. Rousey wouldve won in about 8 secs if the red saw that Davis was out already.

I think one title fight that people forget often was when Wanderlei Silva fought non other than Tito Ortiz for the UFC light-heavyweight (back then the middleweight) championship after Frank Shamrock vacated the strap. Hell, Ortiz's challenge of Shamrock is highly forgotten despite it being one of the greatest title bouts in UFC history.

I do remember Rousey vs. Davis perfectly. I also remember when it was announced. The previous weeks there were rumors of a big fight coming for Rousey, people were even saying that Gina Carano was coming out of retirement and going to the UFC to challenge Rousey for the title. At the end it was like "OK, Rousey's next opponet is Alexis Davis", and everybody was like "Is that it?".

I still remember being upset over Jon Fitch being let go & Dana throwing a hissy fit defending his decision to let him go. Fitch was easily the #2 guy at WW, & put on a solid 5-fight win streak after the GSP loss. Yea he was a rather boring fighter, but he left the UFC being 14-3-1 cuz Dana hated him.
@Dukeflyhawker10 ай бұрын
And he was expensive by Dana's cheapskate standards, probably making barely 6 figures. Dude even won fight of the night in his second last UFC match, so it's hard to make the boring claim, when he can still put on a show. Worst place to be as a UFC fighter is a former champ or title challenger that will beat up a lot of the competition but everyone knows has no chance at winning the belt, or likely even regaining a title shot. They'd rather kick them to the curb, and talk 💩 about them then pay them an upper-main card wage to put L's on younger fighters' records.
