Ironic, right? They only made it to the second round thanks to a couple of penalties (one to defeat Serbia and another to tie a match they were losing to Australia). In the end they missed a penalty that could have qualified them to the semis and during the penalty shoot out they lost it all. But the play that ended up in that last minute penalty comes from a SIMULATION by a Ghanian player

Suarez's handball in the 2010 World Cup against Ghana was as much cheating as a slide tackle from behind in the box that made no attempt at the ball. If you think he cheated there because he deliberately broke the rules, then any tactical foul is also cheating no matter where, when, or how it was done. If you're actually making that case then (no pun intended) bite me. You'd be better served making the case that diving is cheating, because the player is not only deliberately breaking the rules, but he's attempting to deceive the referee as well. Suarez didn't do that when he handled the ball to stop it from going in. He broke the rules knowing he'd receive a red card. It was a calculated infraction just like any tactical foul to stop a fast break. Stop making it more than that just because Gyan missed the subsequent penalty and Ghana went on to lose the match. It's petty and irrational.

The Suarez handball is genuinley one of my favorite moments in football history. It just brings up so much raw emotion about the game, and its so perfectly infuriating that nobody will ever forget. Africa has never made it to the semis, and honestly Suarez is like 99% of why since that Ghana squad was a real contender to do it.

It's funny Suarez did countless things that would perfectly fit in this video. What's in this video however, I'd hardly call a disgrace to football. In fact, I'm pretty sure most people would've made that save themselves. As for the things with Evra, that's more a disgrace for Suarez himself, than it is a disgrace to football -- and even if you think it's s reflection on football, it isn't really something I'd expect to see in a video like this. one of the saddest parts about Suarez's hand ball in the world cup was he was not the only player from the Uruguay side that reached for that hand ball. There was at least one other player right next to him that also turned into a goalkeeper all of a sudden. Never in my life have I seen a team full of cheaters ready to disgrace the game and the rules they've learned since they were kids. Its literally childish. Add to the fact that Suarez has been caught on camera biting 3 players (just think how many times he did it and got away with it), he is by far the biggest disgrace to the game at the moment. I cant even appreciate his wonderful talent anymore, and frankly I wont be able to root for barca when he is playing.

Has anyone seen the moments prior to that last minute penalty during Uruguay vs. Ghana? There was a free kick that would eventually ended up in that penalty: that kick comes from a foul that DID NOT EVEN EXIST since a Ghanian player faked an infraction (no one even touched him). Therefore had Ghana scored, it would have been equally unfair. Suarez was sent off (as he had to be) and Ghana got a penalty they could not convert, that is not Suarez' fault. Penalties (in the match and during a penalty shoot out) keep Ghana from making it further and curiously Ghana made it past the first round due to just a couple of penalties, no goals in open play

Suarez didn't cheat, he committed a foul, which is something very different (touch the ball with his hand and saw a red card for that), it's not his fault Ghana missed the penalty.
