. . . laying here in bed in the dead middle of winter and having the room warmed up and these nature sounds takes me back to last summer standing around the back of the pickup having a couple of beers with my son and talking about life before he was deployed

Perfect combo I enjoyed falling asleep to as a youth living in the country. Sometimes there would also be frogs from the nearby creek joining in on the harmony.......

So glad this video brings back some nostalgia for you! There's something about those summer night sounds. I can't wait till the weather gets warmer and I can record and film more of these sounds. I just got into this whole adventure right at the tail end of summer and only got a few videos of the sounds. Many more to come this spring and summer! Thanks for stopping by and watching, sincerely appreciate it!

Back to when I could stay awake until midnight, my dad would work in the mornings, and on the weekends, we’d be out at the fire pit with the burning embers still glowing, and it was absolutely quiet apart from the sounds of this video around us, it was so relaxing and I would never trade it for the world, thank you for this 🙏🏻💙

It's funny.. as a wee-er child, these critters would keep me up all night with their chattering- I couldn't get no sleep! Then, as a late teen, they would help me sleep, almost hypnotically, on them restless summer nights. Fast forward to exiting my 50's, and what I wouldn't do to have a chorus of these singing in my backyard 🦗🌙🎶

We get the second sound (quick chirping crickets) in late august in Connecticut with the other clicking insect that comes out early aug. The main main katydid starts coming out late July usually. Idk what u call these insects but when i lived in california there was only the clicking bug. They can stick around on warm nights until the first frost, and on warm fall days they can get confused and come out in the middle of the day. In yucatan in mexico there's a different variation of the katydid that comes out year round at night.

Hello Brendan! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and leave a comment! I love to hear what people share, and I don't know the name of all these creatures either unfortunately, but i'm glad for them! Very interesting about the Yucatan in Mexico- would love to visit some day! Thanks again for your comment and support, I'm blessed to have you stop by! Hope you are safe and healthy in this crazy world.
