My cousin lost both her front teeth on the Water Chute back in the mid-80's. The sudden brake at the end, with no seatbelts, forced her head straight into the handrail at the front. The ride operators didn't even bat at eyelid! The 80's were wild! lol

I loved the hip bruising Rainbow Ride. Esp on quieter days when you could sit on your own in the seats and they would crank the speed up and let the ride last longer. The air time was insane!!

@@CoasterConnections Didn't the Whip have a manual brake? You'd slow your car down just before the whip part which made your car go faster around the end. I lived in Blackpool in the early 80s so I got to ride a few of these.

Wow. I remember most of these. How old am I?!! 🤣🤣 One of my all-time favourites was the "Wild Mouse" rollercoaster. Why did they get rid of that? The Wild Mouse was truly truly fabulous! 🤔

Probably as old as me! 🤣 The Wild Mouse was one of my favourites too. Check out my original Blackpool Lost Rides video. The reason for removal isn’t really known, but probably a combination of increased maintenance and safety concerns.

I used to tell my friends about a haunted house at Blackpool Pleasure Beach where you sat at a dining room table at the end that spun and gargoyles spat water at you, they thought I'd dreamt it. Your video just made my day!!!!!!

Wow, that brought back some childhood memories from the 70's. One ride comes to mind, mainly because at the time it seemed so sketchy, was a ride where you sat on a horse which went round a course on a single rail. I think there were two rails side by side, and there were long drops if for some reason you fell off. I'd like to see footage of that to see if it was as I remember.

Great video and nice to bring back some memories. 🙂 One thing you didn't mention about The Whip is that each car had a pedal in it that operated a brake and allowed the rider to control the severity of the whipping around the ends. I remember my dad getting it down to a fine art and flinging us all over the place.

Trauma Towers, The Goldmine and the Dawn Of Time Ride (in the tower building) were my favourite rides in Blackpool that are no longer there. To be honest they've made a right pigs ear of both the Pleasure Beach and Tower World. They're nowhere near as good as I remember through the 1980s and 1990s. Too expensive now run down and run by an American company.

@@CoasterConnections I remember my first ride on The Big One and my dad paid cash (a fiver if I remember correctly, it was 30 years ago. Yes I feel ancient). I did also win a fiver for drawing it at my local horticultural show (I grew up, and still live about 10 miles from Blackpool) for my drawing of it, I was 7 and beat some of the adults, I think it contributes to my fondness for it too this day.
