Dude, you really boosted my opinion about FCPX! I always used Premiere before I got a solid MacBook and started using FCPX, always thought it lacks a lot. Now I see that it's much more fun to use it compared to Premiere and doesn't lack much at all! Even if it lacks some stuff, you most likely don't need it anyways. Gonna be a pretty vague example but just like the living style in Europe, you don't make as much money compared to the US but you really don't need it to live the same way! Govt pays for most things! At least healthcare is dirt cheap if not free! Keep it up, from your new subscriber!

YESSSSS dude. Your comment makes me so damn happy. People have a really bad perception of Final Cut because of the way it looks and the magnetic timeline, but it's those two things that allow me to be MORE creative and MORE productive. I'd be willing to bet money that I can finish a project way faster than the Adobe Premiere version of me could. If there's anything that you think it lacks though, let me know and I'll tell you if FCP actually has it. That's exactly why I live in Indonesia! Haha. Thanks for the sub, Sinan 👊🏼

Awesome tips. I assigned trimming to GH, right next to JKL on the keyboard.
@dylanjohndickerson2 жыл бұрын
Oooooo holy smokes. That's a great freaking idea 😂 And are there no keyboard shortcuts assigned to those keys? I can't think of any. I may have to steal your idea Anders. That's brilliant.
@andersbrathen2 жыл бұрын
@@dylanjohndickerson There are other things assigned to GH as default, but nothing that I used anyway. I know H was the Hand tool. I never use it, since I navigate with the trackpad etc.

@@andersbrathen Yep yep, me too. The hand tool is pretty useless. Well shoot! I think I'll change my keys haha

Wow dude thank you for that cheat sheet. The fact that you made it free for us is incredible. I downloaded it to my ipad so I can reference it on a separate screen while editing. Also as a newbie to fcpx all these tip videos have been amazingly helpful. Please keep it up!

@@dylanjohndickerson Not exactly sure. I’m pretty new to final cut and video making/editing in general so I need to learn everything lol. Maybe a video talking about general story structure, making short b-roll videos interesting, and how much to show of each clip? I know these are more vague and something more relating to the individuals creativity but I always like to get inspiration from pros. If I think of specifics relating to final cut I’ll be sure to comment about it. My goals are to be able to create engaging short form videos for small businesses and real estate for use on their websites and social media like instagram. For myself for practice/fun I want to just make exciting short travel montages even if its just at a local nature preserve or the beach. Just to give you an idea.

@@dylanjohndickerson Hi Dylan, you deserve all of the credit! I know how much work goes into creating this, so that you take the time to do it to inspire and teach others is just amazing 😁 Uhm I’m getting started with Color Finale so I’m just watching your color grading tutorials, so anything related to that would be great imo! But just share what you think is best 🙌🏽 I binge watched almost your complete channel since I discovered it yesterday 😂
@dylanjohndickerson2 жыл бұрын
@@JessyBarreto Oh no way haha you're the best! Okay so for Color Finale, definitely watch this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g6nIf5aabt54qZo Just a heads up, they added two or three new things. The only thing that's worth noting are the LOG wheels are akin to the LOG wheels in Davinci Resolve which allow you to give your footage little pushes in color or exposure. It really compartmentalizes each adjustment to either the shadows, midtones or highlights. So if you're clipping your highlights a bit, lower the the highlights in your LOG wheels.

@@dylanjohndickerson Thanks for sharing! I actually already watched that one and have watched your other videos related to Color Finale, very helpful! I will now start playing with it and hopefully soon relaunch my KZbin channel, using the tips and tricks you have taught me :)
