@@BoleDaPole Or... Non-Peacocks hate Peacocks ability to throw away money - either proving the Peacocks point, or proving the superiority of the non-Peacock in being able to garner attention without throwing away money. Part of the paradox of the Hublot peacock phenomenon is that only a watch nerd would know what a Hublot costs, and how much it should probably cost instead. Or in other words, only watch nerds recognize it as a peacock at all - the great irony is that both the watch nerd and the general public is going to be more impressed by a similarly priced Rolex or Omega than they are by the Hublot... Hence owning a Speedy, 300 Pro Diver NTD, Portuguese, Luminor GMT, Tag Monza and Targa F Fangio limited edition, Baume & M Hampton, Cartier Pasha, Squale 1521. I never paid retail for any of these pieces, negotiating hard with ADs when buying new or buying quality second hand (always meeting the owner in person beforehand). The research and “hunt” aspect of the entire process makes the day of the purchase feel even more special. Thank you for guiding watch lovers like me make better decision. I have my sights on a Polaris chrono. Will wait a couple of month to buy secondhand: as much as I like the brand story, the Polaris design and the movement, JLC price positioning is indeed nonsense.

I think Nomos and Glashütte should collaborate and do special fun colors of the Sea Q in particular I think a magenta Sea Q would really rock the boat 🚤

Every time I try on a Hublot I love the way it looks on my wrist! I don't want to but I do.

Hello. I just wanted you to know that since the last episode Sinn has remade their website and, imo, they went a little bit too crazy. Worth checking out for sure.

Great vid. I wish Nomos had designs with a bit more flair, but that's their thing I guess.

As always, great analysis! Any thoughts regarding the Cartier 1904 movement? When reading up on the discontinued Cartoer drive, the 1904 movement seems to be "in house".

Cartier does do in house movements. Not exclusively but they do have some pretty good movements 😀
