Invisible Man vs. Invisible Stan is the match I tell every person who wants to be a Referee to watch. Because it shows how much impact the ref can have on the match

You could of stuck to officially titled Hardcore matches, and still filled a list. My favorite example would be Al Snow having a full match against himself. Not a Doppelgänger, he just tossed himself around the ring and hit himself with weapons

Technically, wasn't he fighting his mannequin head? (Or was that a different match?)

The best thing about the eye for an eye match, was Scott D'Amore mocking it on Impact a few weeks later. Serious question. How was Rey magically growing his eyeball back explained on tv?

I was just listening to one of Cornette’s Omnibus podcasts about the worst of AEW yesterday and he talked about this “match”. He said something along the lines of that this wanted to make him give up on the company, give up on wrestling as a whole if this is what’s the future is and was BRUTAL about it lol. Him and Brian Last. The only good thing he said was that he felt bad for Eddie Kingston because Eddie ran out at the end and didn’t want to break character so he ended up laying there selling until they picked him up and took him to the back 🤣

Nothing will top Japan in the 80s and 90s. Terry Funk and Mick Foley were born in blood and fire over there. It’s a shame that Terry hadn’t the chance to write a full autobiography and Mick Foley doesn’t talks much about it even in his biographies. So you have to search the internet to get the picture. Man Japan was insane.

still with the "judy bagwell on a forklift match?" IT WAS A REGULAR MATCH WON BY PINFALL!! even the stipulation has been done many times, including recently: winner gets the services of.... either the manager or valet in question, or sometimes the loser of the match becomes the servant of the winner.. with normal pinfall or submission rules (no dq, evidently) Judy Bagwell was Buff's manager, if he lost then Kanyon was to have judy on contract, if buff won he get's her back while it was silly that she was even involved, it's not even close to the most bizarre hardcore match.. and buff won BY PINFALL!! so it's just a regular no DQ match. even if they did SAY it was a judy bagwell on a pole match, or on a forklift match, it was NOT... it was won by pinfall. you can watch it on youtube or the wwe network. (which is odd, i didn't know that worked in the US still, but i just watched it there for free)

I hate to break this to you but "hardcore" IS just a no DQ match. I'm not sure where you got the idea that it wasn't. They are literally the same thing. The difference is primarily just the setup. NoDQ matches are usually either an excuse to use weapons or interference while primarily focusing on a "real match" (and are easy setups to get managers involved, since interference is basically a given). Hardcore matches usually have weapons directly in sight and tend to fixate on the use of the weapons more than "real wrestling". But as rules? They're basically identical. In fact, "hardcore" isn't a match type of its own. Simply a modifier for other match types. So, you could have a Hardcore Submission match,

@@deadersurvival4716 i'm not sure where you got that i was debating anything about hardcore match or no dq, even call it raven's rules, extreme rules, tribal combat... whatever. my point was it was NOT any kind of "on a pole" or "on a forklift" or any actual weird stipulation.. it was just a regular (hardcore) match with a pinfall victory. even if Kanyon called it something else, it had the regular hardcore rules with PINFALL. so, not a "Bizarre hardcore" as the list was suppose to be.

The same show as the damn Blindfold match, the first match between James Storm and Chris Harris after their split; they have the bloody Street Fight everyone expected a month later, but lost their expected bloody *Cage* Match war due to Russo, Jarrett and Mantel deciding 1991 WWF would look good in 2007 TNA...
