My wife and I are same age and we both retired same day 3 1/2 years ago. Since we now spend so much time together I find myself having to apologize to her multiple times per day. Regarding how much money is needed to retire depends upon how much you spend. Once you know your expenses and your income you can fairly easily figure out how much more money is needed if any.
