Prince Friso and Mabel never asked for parliamentary permission themselves, as they knew it would not be granted. Teeny tiny mistake: Queen Juliana was married to Prince Bernhard, he was never "King". A male who marries the queen of the Netherlands cannot become king. However a female who marries the king (like Maxima) does become the queen (but she's not equal in rank to the king).

I don’t know where to start with the many, many inaccuracies in this video, which include stating the wrong sex of children, Charles and Diana's non-existent 22-year age gap, and that the Queen didn’t attend Charles and Camilla's ceremony. There are also several rumours stated as fact even though in reality they’ve been proved to be spurious at best and libellous at worst. That this channel perpetuates such rumours is irresponsible and distasteful. Wait a minute, it's correct that the Queen didn't attend Charles and Camilla's actual wedding ceremony. However, it had less to do with her feelings toward Camilla and more to do with protocol. Charles was only allowed to marry Camilla on the condition that they had a civil ceremony rather than a religious one because of the divorce, and the Queen was advised that it would be improper for her, as the head of the Anglican church, to attend it. I find it hard to comprehend the idea of not attending the wedding of my son just to please a bunch of stick-in-the-muds but... hey, she's famously a stickler for duty. She did attend the prayer service they held after the civil ceremony and their private reception at least.

There are a few mistakes in the video. They didn't have twin girls. They had a boy and a girl. Only boys can be heirs to the throne. Prince Friso was still a prince after not receiving permission for the wedding and Mabel still became a princess as a result of the wedding. His brother Willem-Alexander wasn't the king yet when he met Maxima. He was the crown prince and his mother Beatrix was still the king (yes, king this is the official title). Another mistake there was never a king Bernard. His wife was the king but when the king is female we call her Queen. We then don't call the husband king because that would wrongly identify the person in a position their not in. He was prince Bernard. Ussually the husbands of the king go by prince.

That statement about the Japanese royal family is unfair. The rules of monarchy were set in place after Japan's surrender in WWII. It set into the constitution rules related to the imperial family, rule of succession, even whether an emperor can retire. The Japanese government had to pass a special legislation recently because the current emperor wants to retire, but wasn't allowed to because of the constitution. Prior to that, emperors could retire when they got older and have their sons take over. The rule of succession also removed quite a few branches of the imperial family and that's why it seems like Japan's monarchy is really small when it's the oldest continuous monarchy in the world.

I would think that a bride marrying the future King of Monaco would not just be able to call off the wedding. So sad.. I saw a documentary on Princess Diana and apparently Charles and Camilla "met" a few days before the wedding, and she wanted to call it off, but was told it was too late, she had to go through with it. But again, I don't think that royal wedding could just be called off, would have to be a really good reason that could be revealed in public.
