For the record, the Seville was not an answer to the 1973 oil crisis, but to the increasing popularity of smaller and more exclusive European cars like Mercedes-Benz. It's development was well underway before the oil crisis...after all, lead times are long in the automotive industry. Bringing an all-new car from conception to market in two years is simply not possible even if they did begin with an existing platform.

The Eldorado you showed is a 1977-78. You made it sound like it was the downsized 1979 which would have been your second most expensive car at over 14 thousand to start. Keep up the great work.

Lol, it’s not tornado, it’s Toro - nado. It’s not Lincoln Mark V, the V stands for the Roman numeral 5. I guess the rest of the narration is suspect considering those errors are simple to catch. Living in that era I’m surprised at all the mistakes I this narration. But the overall video was entertaining.

Anyone else find it odd that the most expensive car on the list is also the ugliest? That Stutz Blackhawk is downright hideous!

The Avanti ii, built to order by the Avanti motor corporation in Indiana certainly would make the list! In 79 it costed some 16000 dollars. No regular production car, but neither was the Stutz.

IMO # 1 should be a car you can purchase directly from the manufacturers, retrofits belong in a category of their own.

My dad had one of the '70s New Yorker Broughams. His dream car. It was a land yacht. I was in my late teens, 6'1", about 220lbs. I could just about fully stretch out on the back seat. It was also the first car I had ever seen w/ a digital dash. I thought it was soooo cool until he let me drive one night. On I95 in VA, doing about 60 in a rainstorm. The dash went nuts, the speedo and all of the gauges started flashing up and down. Fortunately it kept running. He took it back to the dealer, he had dealt w/ the same salesman for close to 20 yrs. Seems Chrysler sent all of the dashes to production and claimed they didn't have any spares. They had to give dad a loaner for a month while waiting for the part, then another 2 weeks to get a guy in who could reset the mileage on the new dash to match the old.

No vehicles made by Chrysler had a digital dash until the 1981 - '83 Imperial coupes. The only digital item on anything before that was the clock, or 'chronometer'. New Yorker Brougham K-cars from the 80s did have fully digital dashes...

My grandfather kept a Jublie Mark with the Cartier clock,my dad was a Mopar man bought mother a brand new New Yorker every 3 years from 73 to 85 the last police car looking 5th Ave.I was in the hood one day drunk guy that was the neighborhood crack-chanic said he had a turbo Riviera told him to go get it and I'll buy it,got it for $700 bucks probably the cleanest car I've ever had for that amount of money, ended up doing a few upgrades from Kirban, but I was the non intercooled non roller motor but after the upgrades it ran pretty good for what it was, never thought I'd see the appreciation for these gems. Both my gramps & dad passed but seeing this almost bought tears to my eyes,I can smell the brand new showroom floor Chrysler leather interior and hear Frankie Beverly playing on our way to the family reunion in Kentucky.🙏

I like how the worst Lincoln is the most expensive. The Mark 3 was a bit smaller, it had a 7.5L V8 producing 365HP and it had the best build quality of them all. Mark 5 was the biggest and heaviest with the smallest engine 6.6L V8 and with only 180HP.
