For the record, the Seville was not an answer to the 1973 oil crisis, but to the increasing popularity of smaller and more exclusive European cars like Mercedes-Benz. It's development was well underway before the oil crisis...after all, lead times are long in the automotive industry. Bringing an all-new car from conception to market in two years is simply not possible even if they did begin with an existing platform.

The Eldorado you showed is a 1977-78. You made it sound like it was the downsized 1979 which would have been your second most expensive car at over 14 thousand to start. Keep up the great work.

My dad had one of the '70s New Yorker Broughams. His dream car. It was a land yacht. I was in my late teens, 6'1", about 220lbs. I could just about fully stretch out on the back seat. It was also the first car I had ever seen w/ a digital dash. I thought it was soooo cool until he let me drive one night. On I95 in VA, doing about 60 in a rainstorm. The dash went nuts, the speedo and all of the gauges started flashing up and down. Fortunately it kept running. He took it back to the dealer, he had dealt w/ the same salesman for close to 20 yrs. Seems Chrysler sent all of the dashes to production and claimed they didn't have any spares. They had to give dad a loaner for a month while waiting for the part, then another 2 weeks to get a guy in who could reset the mileage on the new dash to match the old.

No vehicles made by Chrysler had a digital dash until the 1981 - '83 Imperial coupes. The only digital item on anything before that was the clock, or 'chronometer'. New Yorker Brougham K-cars from the 80s did have fully digital dashes...

It would cost too much. Video is out of warranty. Oh, did you notice the fine coachwork on the Blackhawk? Nothing like a 1/4 inch difference in trim height.

These are NOT the 10 most expensive cars of the 70s...by a longshot! One example, the '79 Mark Vee (?) Collectors Series stickered at around $23,000. I hate to knock what took some work, but mispronunciations of classic 70s terms, factual errors and omissions and an obvious lack of subject knowledge. Too bad.

Be nice if people who put out these videos actually did research on how to pronounce the car names. It's not Tornado, it's Toronado. And it's not Bro-um, it's BroMmm, one syllable. It's not FAY-TON like some Star Trek phaser, it's faytawn, one smooth word. It's not a Lincoln Mark V, it's a Mark FIVE. Your facts and visuals are excellent, however, so you get props for those.

Lol, it’s not tornado, it’s Toro - nado. It’s not Lincoln Mark V, the V stands for the Roman numeral 5. I guess the rest of the narration is suspect considering those errors are simple to catch. Living in that era I’m surprised at all the mistakes I this narration. But the overall video was entertaining.

I had a '78 T-Bird Town Landaue. I had two different drivers run into the rear end. Their cars were totaled and the Bird didn't even have a scratch. It was a literal tank.

I owned a 1976 Oldsmobile 98 Regency. It came with two anchors and bow and stern lines. It had a 455 cubic inch motor that gave a mighty roar when pushed, but it was so huge, you felt like you were going nowhere fast.

If you never had the chance to own or even drive an American luxury car from this Era you missed something that probably won't be back in the US car industry. They were all dead solid quiet powerful and comfortable like driving your living room couch . They made you feel good every mile. And if you get a chance they still do. Incredible
