My dad had one of the '70s New Yorker Broughams. His dream car. It was a land yacht. I was in my late teens, 6'1", about 220lbs. I could just about fully stretch out on the back seat. It was also the first car I had ever seen w/ a digital dash. I thought it was soooo cool until he let me drive one night. On I95 in VA, doing about 60 in a rainstorm. The dash went nuts, the speedo and all of the gauges started flashing up and down. Fortunately it kept running. He took it back to the dealer, he had dealt w/ the same salesman for close to 20 yrs. Seems Chrysler sent all of the dashes to production and claimed they didn't have any spares. They had to give dad a loaner for a month while waiting for the part, then another 2 weeks to get a guy in who could reset the mileage on the new dash to match the old.
