these are great for actual camping trips, hunting trips, where you don't need a tiny home type camper. they are basically updated modernized chuck wagons.

MiniMate and Lee-sure lite Two motorcycle campers that rock and are affordable
@grayman6183 жыл бұрын
I would buy either one the Minimates or the Leisure lite before any of these. You get your money's worth and your resale value will always be there period not mention you can stand up in them. I think it's hilarious that they suggest a camper and then suggest adding a roof-top tent! We all know how cheap those are.

Hey and a good vid, Thanks. I am at 65 years and going strong, am single so the camping /travel set up I`m working on is a basic 4x4 pickup longbed with a light weight shell on back with sleeping within and then a 6x10 flatbed trailer and them built a cargo box on top with a full bathroom kitchen and gear storage . Got about 3000 into it and about 1500. into homemade truck shell. Thanks for sharing and the good ideas on different ways of building.

You forgot the best one. The Bean off road tear drop is made in Utah. It’s a bit more but with the bunk and tent on top you can fit a family of 5. It’s fiberglass and will last forever. It also has a pass through kitchen which is super convenient. Saddest part is they are made to order and right now the wait time is 7-9 months.
@mindseyedesign3 жыл бұрын
Yes good one. I have the Bean on a list already. I'd have to go look to be sure when the video is slated for post. I believe next weekend if the editor is finished. It certainly has a nice variety of amenities. Thanks for watching ☺

Trail Stomper and HEO modelt all look friendly and usable. The old-school Tiny Camper looked neat. The Backpacker 2XT impressed me. I liked the Apache except for the "black" color, that'd be hot until you painted it. The little Tentrax looks perfect for hooking up to a Jeep to get deeper in the woods. If a van lifer has an older gas guzzling van with no bathroom that they wanna live & travel everywhere in. They'd be way better off either just getting a Prius & ultra light tow behind micro camper or tent for great MPG'$. Or a slightly bigger vehicle than a van that only gets around 3 MPG's less but has room for a toilet & shower. If I'm only gonna get 13 MPG's in a truck bed camper or van with no bathroom. I'd much rather get 10 MPG's in a small motor home that has a toilet & shower.

2 adults 2 small children. It's the same size as my rugged rhino 5x8. Kunkletown Pennsylvania has a company that has an option for a bunk bed in the 5x8 model and the rugged rhino kong as an option for a twin bunk bed in the 5x10 model. It is amazing what they are doing with these drops now.

'Canvas' camping is forbidden in Yellowstone because of bears. Which involves a lot more than just Yellowstone! So, these popups aren't really safe for people sleeping inside them... Bear might think, hmmm, a burrito! I'll stick with my cheap 4x6 cargo/camper conversion. It's all metal except for small windows. Offgrid Solar, TV-AC-Heat-under $5K.

@mindseyedesign3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure how decent a van you would get for 7k. You have a point though and with some custom work like an air mattress, port-a-potty, and shag carpet you got yourself a home away from home. You would probably want to keep off the back roads and make sure your triple A card is with you at all times.
