I had a GREAT Cairn Terrier, but they are NOT overly affectionate. If you do get one put the harness on and a LONG leash. They get on the trail of something and they are GONE. I lost mine so many times, and was lucky to get her back!

I’ve had three dogs and they’ve all been very loving. An English Lab, a Yorkshire Terrier, and a mix breed that is predominantly Treeing Walker Coon Hound, with some chow chow, beagle, boxer, golden retriever, cocker spaniel, and some unknown mixes mixed in. I had her DNA analyzed because we wanted to know what she may be predisposed to, we had no idea she had so much mixed into her. We should’ve named her Heinz (57 varieties) lol.

Your first dislike from me. All dogs are loving if given love. Some are not as loving because they had trauma growing up. The one dog that is more kind than others is definitely the golden retriever. Known to be very kind to other animals and not a rare thing for the breed. BUT that's being kind and gentle. Love is another story. When it comes to dogs and their people, their love is tremendous, regardless of breed, but depends more on how they were raised.
