This is why VFX studios have to be given credit for what they do. The amount of work they put in is amazing yet it wouldn't be noticed since the better the CGI, the less noticeable it'll be unless its the main focus.

And its also why we don´t believe anything BBC News tells us - CGI protesters, etc. We don´t believe anything CNN News tells us or Fox. And now adult men who want to meet their employer tomorrow and enjoy a weekend of fun have to cover it up that they watched CNN stuff the week before - that is to say, if they did.

So this list is more focused on CGI being done on the actors and not CGI in general I think the black hole from Interstellar would make this list if it is CGI in general

It's not that hard for Interstellar. But, learning about how black hole looks even before it's photo was shot was challenging. I can make a blender movie of black hole under 2 weeks

Ravens the black hole from Interstellar is why I don´t believe in black holes. Dinosaurs in Jurassic World is why I don´t believe in dinosaurs. Gravity the movie is why I don´t believe space is for real. Instead, I believe something altogether - in the existence of a mysterious phenomenon unbeknown to most retards today - called reality. If retards breeded less, we would have more people denying moon landings. Unfortunately, we don´t.

Motion capture was utilized in the late 90s with Star Wars Ep. 1 by ILM and taken further by WETA in the early 2000s for LOTR. Also, motion capture wasn’t the selling point of the Apes movies. It was performance capture on the actors face. I’d also include advancements made beyond face replacements. I think one of your commenters noted Interstellar.

after seeing how irishman was made, it wasn't that all impressive in the end. they matched the plate with a 3d version of the face, deleted all the wrinkles on that 3d model then blended all the de-aged features back onto the live-action photography. so its just one big camera match-move, that is old tech. the camera setup however is the only innovation here which i reckon is really well done but as with all new tech, comes alot of headaches and a tonne of cleanup in post.
