General mindset I wish I had earlier😗 - If you’re going into high school, going on your first day, there is no reason to be scared. It’s what everyone is expecting and everyone knows it, so they will 99.9% treat you very kindly and their first approach will be softer than what they would normally do. Just go in there, take a good look around, and just get familiar. Don’t worry about friends on the first day so much, but do try to talk to people! If you can’t just scan for a secluded place for you to have your lunch or something! You don’t have to be boisterous and loud or popular, just be easy going enough for people to approach you instead of the other way round, because that feels pressuring if you feel you have to force yourself to. -First day back? You’ve done it before, except you’re more knowledgeable now. Now do it again. You’ve binge-watched all tbhstudying and revisign videos! Make sure you’ve noted down something, like eg. Spaced repetition. That reminds me.. *Create a rough plan for each subject on how you’re going to take notes.* Are you going to be doing Cornell for math? Where are you putting keywords? Do you need a plan for eg. English because all you really need to do is put your notes into questions for later and nothing too detailed? What *simple and effective* aesthetic do you want? Will it look nice even if you’re handwriting looks rushed? There is no way you’ll have neat handwriting all throughout unless youre..super. When you walk in it would be so much easier to know what you’re going to do, instead of stressing when the lecture gets too fast. General general things I found out: Have a mental list (or physical one which will soon become mental) of rules to stick by. Perhaps it will stem from personal experience, or it will be a trial list. Things such as “Always note down your homework, and put that homework in a clear folder.” “Do the minimal of staying calm and neutral.” Take things from last year, and compile them here. Keep your notes safe damn it. Put it *somewhere* you know of. Put it in a folder and keep them neat enough to refer back to, especially if you’re transitioning from year 6-7 or a new place where you’re expected to do much more. Keep track of what you learned, maybe in a list, and note down what you struggled with. Trust, it’s much harder to go through the internet to find a comprehensive list of all you studied to try do some last minute detailed power throughs. Just. Keep. Track. I plan to do a better thing for math by making a rating on each lesson of how I found it, that way I know if I’ll need to do a quick review or a detailed one. +Oh and make sure when it comes to test times, you’re not learning, but *reviewing.* Do the spaced repetition, and if you don’t understand a topic, act on it immediately! Especially if you procrastinate. Perhaps I’ll keep editing this. I hope it helps!

I love my AirPods Pro! The noise cancelling feature is well worth the upgrade! I have notion, but I've not used it as all the videos I've seen have been study videos and studying maths isn't the most conductive (IMO) to this app, I prefer goodnotes, but I would be interested in using notion for productivity.

an alternative for the diffuser: candles! the flame is so calming and they smell incredible. the only thing is that you have to completely burn the top layer of the candle before blowing it out, so you need to be ready to burn it for a few hours or so, depending on the size of the candle.

Mini/votive scented candles (tea lights) are ideal for this! They only burn for 4-5 hours total and you can buy a pack of 100 on Amazon for only a few dollars.

haha the last one made me realize one of the reasons i had been so unmotivated for most of the school year. i have smart friends and stuff(like they’re literally the smartest people in the class) but they’re also really condescending and made me feel dumb for the smallest things eventually i gave up because i thought i wouldn’t be as smart as them so why should i even try? this year i’m going to prove them wrong. i might not get all 100s and over like them, and will have to work a lot harder than them, but i’m going to enjoy school and learn.
