Thank you!!! Dr. Erin and Dr. Dusty for all my WFPB needs! While I love my primary care physician she has no idea about the benefits of using food as medicine. She was so impressed with my extensive blood work (all in the green) and I told her what I ate and she asked “but what about protein?!?” Then I pulled up my second blood work results through complement insight program and showed her my results and how I get over the amount recommended! She was thrilled! Such a great video! Thank you! 🤗🌱👏🏼

I love all your videos. I’ve been vegan for many years, I never tracked how much vegan vegan protein I eat in a day until last month. It is true like you said. It’s great how I noticed I consume around 130-150 grams of Whole Foods vegan protein every single day and I feel amazing! Working out and staying active is also key.

Hey Erin! What do you think about the beta carotene non-converters (about 60-65% of people on Earth) who can't turn plant beta carotene into usable/bioactive Vitamin A, like the kind found naturally animal foods?? Have you done any research on that?
@kaseya96382 ай бұрын
I'd like to know more about that topic too; bioavailability seems to be an issue with some plant foods. Also curious about anti-nutrients.
@EatMoveRest2 ай бұрын
@kaseya9638 anti-nutrients issue has been debunked many times over…for example, lectins and phytates are dramatically reduced during the cooking process, and nobody eats raw dry beans. Oxalates, you’d have to be eating an obscene amount of something like spinach or chard for it to even be an issue…like everything, eating an abundance of variety will keep everything in check! As for the bioavailability…have not had any issues with vit A or heard of or seen it come up as an issue with any plant-based eaters or experts…will have to do some more digging on the topic. Also, more doesn’t always equal better, there is a tipping point. Take for example heme iron only found in animals…more bioavailable but causes health concerns, and same with animal proteins, not to mention dietary cholesterol…with more “bioavailability” in animal foods also seems to come more unwanted negative side effects as well!

I want to eat more plant based, but giving up eggs, cheese and chicken/pork is going to be so hard for me! Your channel has inspired me to get started but I’m also nervous about incorporating so much more fiber into my diet- especially beans because they make me extremely gassy(being real here lol). Should I introduce beans slowly?! Im just tired of feeling tired and I want to make a lifestyle change so I can thrive! 😟 love you guys ❤
@jamiewagner70662 ай бұрын
I think that going slow is great! If beans cause you issues, try soaking them before cooking, and eating small portions at first. Wishing you the best in your journey!
@carlypastore2 ай бұрын
While you soak your beans before you cook them, soak them with a slice of kombu seaweed in the soaking water- it will greatly reduce the gassy effects once the beans are cooked

go Keto, eat things like Salmon, Organic, Free range eggs, Eat Beef, Get in them vegetables, and sauerkraut or yoghurt for the gut. What I just wrote down, is EPA/DHA/ Choline for your brain omega 3 fatty acids. Beef will give you the best form of absorbable iron. Goodluck
