Black cap-toe oxfords is the classic option for any suit. If you want to be more casual choose a black penny loafer instead. The key thing is to have a shade darker shoe than the color of your suit. So a deep burgundy or dark brown would also work fine with a navy suit.

I do appreciate you showing some love for Drake's, plus that Sexton shirt is beyond gorgeous. However, those ultra dark shades of navy that could easily be mistaken for black just don't float my boat. Maybe it's an archetypal american thing that I simply don't get as a european. Me and a buddy of mine have an appointment for our first tailored suit, exciting! I want a navy suit with a very subtle pinstripe so the pinstripe is visible when people are close but when looking from far away it looks almost like a plain navy suit. I couldn't find examples of this idea, but your suit is spot on to the one I want, so I will use your suit as a reference for the tailor! Thank you! I want peak lapels because I have pretty broad shoulders, so we we will not have the same suit 😜

#9 looking good; but I like the solid shirts with the statement ties best. :) Also: 1) please post a comment/IG/whatever on what knot you are using with these looks, and 2) on an off-the-shelf dress shirts, when the neck is too tight, is it better to go 1/2 size larger and be a bit loose or remain a bit too tight when in between standard sizes? Thanks for chiming in! Can definitely do a tutorial--it's a bit like a Nicky Knot but with a little variation. As for OTR shirts, I would size up. That way, when you wash the shirt and it shrinks a bit, you're still able to wear it and perhaps it will even be the right size.

Aziz Quadri you are almost exactly my size. No break or very slight break. And you want to make sure the lag is tapered. Some where in the 14-15” zone for leg opening.

You'll typically see collar bars before pins. Didn't have a gold tone collar bar so I went with the pin to match the yellow and golds in the tie.

Do you think a navy suit is more versatile than a dark blue suit? I find the latter easier to pair with more casual items but still able to be run w/ more formal shirts and ties. I think it's more versatile for this reason.

Navy and dark blue are pretty interchangeable in my book. There are tons of gradations of navy blue, but when I think of an uber-classic navy suit, it's on the darker side.

I really love your channel but for me as a European, I have to admit that i didn't like most of the combinations. Eventhough the striped ties may be of high quality, they don't present this high quality very well. The dimple at the dark grey/black tie is way too big and the shirt presented with the brown tie is way to informal for that suit. Maybe I just don't like the combination of a very plain and standard navy suit with really extravagant choices concerning the ties and shirts and the huge dimple. However, I do like the other looks and I am of course looking forward to watching your new videos.
