Whenever LEGO makes a set for the new big movie being released, you can expect it won't be completely accurate. LEGO is usually given nothing but early promo material and concept art, which can be radically different from the final product.

I agree with you completely. I love star wars to death and lego to death, but a majority of star wars set is just big grey ships, maybe if you're lucky, some black in there too! I miss my blue TIE fighters, or when lego would throw in a random splash of color. So while inaccurate, I love the Bad Batch shuttle alot! But I wouldn't have liked it as much if they did make the set accurately colored.

Agreed, you can easily shorten the cannon if it’s too large for people and also it being smaller is nice so it doesn’t take up too much display space.

I feel like for the older sets lego opted to add more color over accuracy maybe just to cater to younger audiences or add more variety to people’s brick collections as they rebuilt or dismantled sets for other things…just a thought

@@Gameprojordan How do you make grey more saturated? I think Lego really tried to avoid dull colors and monochrome sets, as well as making these licensed sets appear more kids-friendly. Lego definitely used to use a lot more accent colors that were also repeated across a theme (for medieval sets the good guys had blue bricks in their builds and the bad guys red ones, Harry Potter sets had these greenish roofs and often other small pieces in the same color, space/sciency sets had blue and orange, etc.).

Actually that orange bit might have some accuracy points. There was an old Clone Wars game on the PS2 that heavily featured the clone saber tanks (the same one's from BF2) and the AT-XT, the snail tank has a blueish hue in that game, in addition to a lot of red highlights.

I actually hollowed out the middle and put a door on the back (to make it more accurate), shortened the cannon, shortened and replaced the side guns, made the turret less wide, got rid of the spring loaded shooters and shortened the body under the turret. It was a pretty fun project and it looks so much better now

The wings in Kylo's Shuttle are tucked in when it has landed. You can see it during the Maz's castle battle, but i think it was changed in post production and the CGI was just not update. LEGO was probably working from preliminary images

The "wampas cave" looks like it is actually the hole Luke made to get out of the cave so the wampa would not be entering or exiting there

Maybe the 2005 Tank Droid was blue because of the Separatists making their vehicles blue later into the war like the Vulture Droid? The Vulture Droid and Tri-Fighter sets from 2005 actually both have that same blue now that I think about it…

That's absolutely right. They probably for whatever reason didn't end up having access to the 2002 early footage, just an uncolored plastic or wooden mockup, or a pink/purple transparent CGI design, so they assumed it would be blue like the rest of the CIS vehicles.

Exactly. Every set based on RoTS has droids in the blue colors. The Droid Gunship, Vulture Droid, and Tri-fighter have all been released in the CIS blue scheme to reflect the time period of RoTS.

I think the funky colours of old starwars sets was just the designers trying to make the designs more "interesting" to kids rather than just grey. Does just look messy lol. You could probably say the designers did the same thing for the bad batch shuttle.

I'm thinking about taking some of the parts from the AAT in attempt to convert the 20th Anniversary Slave 1 into its color scheme in Attack of the Clones. Obviously, I would need to use other parts as well, but those large rounded bricks are perfect.

I think the inaccuracy of the bad batch shuttle set goes beyond just its inaccurate coloring. The cockpit is very weirdly shaped and doesn’t look like it actually does (imo they should have used the windshield pieces from the Batman vs Superman sets) but the one that bugs me the most is how low the wings sit when they’re open. If you watch the show, it’s clear they don’t go that low.

The mini ones i understand cuz there are limited pieces for some parts since it is scaled down, they did it quite creative and im impressed by some of them. But the older sets have studs poking out on every direction cuz they didnt use smooth plates kinda annoys me, but they didnt had the tech and mind yet so we cant blame them. But i can see them having fun building and designing the sets.

I modified my aat using some pieces from my unbuilt 501st builds. I added the back door by getting rid of that black hollow box in the middle made the barrel shorter and the turret smaller and added the cannon besides the driver area

Another inaccuracy on the wookie attack is that the corporate alliance tank droid opens up to out a pilot in it. The tank is a droid its self so dosent need a pilot

the reason for all the Blue in the Episode III Sets was because the Tri-Fighter Droid was dark blue and they went with it as the general appearance of the faction for the film.

I think the point of the corporate alliance tank droid is that in canon, they participated in battle. A lot of clone wars sets never happened. Like the geonosis troopers. Also some are just battle packs based on no particular episode like the 2009 at rt or the at ot. So I think the tank droid is fine
