By definition, "overhyped" means someone lied. Thing is, when most things get overhyped, it's the fans, not the creator. Fans tend to set themselves up for failure by trying too hard to see into the future and being letdown when they end up being wrong.

Death in the family was base off a phone calling gimmick which is odd for a comic book company to do. But it doesn't belong on the list the other two on the other hand does. Does anyone really believe Wolverine can kill every member of the x-men? Especially when he never best cyclops in a battle.

Civil war at the time felt like it was trying to connect w what was happening in the real world at the time after 9/11 and how much freedom do we give up to feel safe. So it at least felt timely. Identity Crisis felt cringy for me from the start though

I love the first volume of court of owls .I kinda didnt like the second because of the thomas wayne jr ending.Death of the family is fantastic. Zero year is a very good origin story but yeah i dont want another origin story after year one.Endgame is so fun.But unfortunately im not a fan of the superheavy arc and the filler volumes.

I’d include secret invasion. Great build up and concept and it just ends up being a standard alien invasion. The “who can you trust” angel was completely wasted

It's still weird to me to hear people trash talk the Ultimate Universe. You have to remember that back in the day, most people loved it. Or at least seemed to. This darker, edgier version of the Marvel Universe. I remember people saying that Marvel should just do away with the 616 mainstream universe, and make Ultimate Marvel the main universe. When the MCU began, people would insist to you that it was based on the Ultimate books and not the mainstream ones. Admittedly, mostly because of Captain America's costume and Hawkeye's family, but still, people wanted to believe it. It was amazing how quickly it all came crashing down, beginning with Ultimatum. Admittedly,. The only part of the Ultimate Universe that I ever got into was Miles Morales as Spider-Man, and he got to be integrated into the 616 Universe afterwards.

The ending to Old Man Logan kinda irksome in the sense that in any other universe Hulk would have regenerated. Not only that but he's said to be stronger in this universe. So wouldn't his healing factor be as well? But he's conveniently not able to heal at all.

I thought Old Man Logan, Civil War, and Death in the Family were great. Your reasoning for putting them on this list was not good enough imo. There are several other stories that fit this list better like Dark Nights: Death Metal and the Spider-Man Clone Saga. I do agree with One More Day though. Easily my least favorite comic story arc of all time.

These were event comics that were almost panned right out of the gate. Death In The Family happened because DC took an awesome character and tried too hard to make him edgy after Crisis. Then they have the vote, and of course he's a goner. He's dead in The Dark Knight Returns timeline.

A lot of people love Civil War, but in my case it's what led me to stop reading Marvel. The plot dictated what the characters were doing, not the other way around, and it poisoned the well when it came to the likes of Tony Stark, Reed Richards, and even Steve Rogers. The characters became poorly written cardboard-cutouts, and virtually nobody was likeable by the time it was done. The only good things I can say about it are 1) DC's Identity Crisis was even worse. And 2) it led to an MCU film that was far better than the comics it was loosely based upon.

and Fear Itself did not live up to the Hype that surrounded it. I remember that time...and it just did not. The Thor series Epilogue is what really allowed Fear Itself to be seen as a success. Bc it became a necessary part of a larger story...which is fine for an event, as long as it is Self-Contained.
