@@jboll84 "Silver Water & Birch" is a really nice freshie that's pretty close to Creed Silver Mountain Water, it's my signature scent to wear to the gym. "Palo Santo" is similar to Le Labo Santal 33. Other favorites of mine include "Blue Cedar & Cypress", "Sandalwood & Suede", and "Distiller's Blend".

I love Spicebomb so a little biased on that one but there are some good alternatives on here for sure. Everyone did good. I bought D&G Forever and is definitely different but grew on me. Definitely not the type of Grapefruit usually in fragrances, such a realistic smell.

As for the Silver Mountain Water scent, after getting my nose on over 150-200 frags, then SMW, I do appreciate and like it now. To me SMW is for a very experienced nose. After 20- 30 scents then trying SMW, I didn't care for it until after much more experience with over 150+ frags. Keep that in mind.

i just ordered scandal over phantom today.. better quality at all longetivity better, sillage better(maybe phantom stronger in the first 1-2 hour) but i like phantom as well. i ordered this fall bvlgari man in black, bad boy le parfum and montblanc explorer so far.. so scandal will be my last perfume to the cold month.. next purchase will be in the spring :P hard to wait :)

Yeah I haven't tried that scandal yet I have heard good things the thing I love about paco rabanne is they have great smells always and the size where a lot of designer fragrances only have 3.4 oz sizes paco always has 6.8 oz sizes and I got the phantom in the 5.1 oz and I'm about to buy the refill which is 6.8 oz and I go through a lot of cologne I love that new phantom I sprayed some invictus with phantom over it and man it was out of sight

I am presently pondering a purchase of the Guerlain Ideal Extreme. It's available in my local store here in Ukraine. Your opinion of it? I have only sniffed the Extreme. Haven't sniffed any other version of it. Really like it, but the one thing giving me pause is, I have Karl Lagerfeld's Bois d'Ambre, which is an obsessively monotone, linear amber fragrance (which is fine for days you're in the mood for "obsessively monotone, linear amber), and the two times I have spritzed Ideal Extreme on my wrist, I find it barely distinguishable from the Bois d'Ambre. Which means, is there any point in getting something that smells the same? Ah, but there's the rub. Does it REALLY smell the same? I only did a couple of very light spritzes each time, probably should have done a good two strong pumps, or three, to evaluate better. As the hours passed I did, sure enough, discover, faintly, distantly, in what was still there, some sort of layering and complexity--yes, indeed, a remote echo of plum, perhaps tobacco, but there was so little there it was hard to tell for sure. So...I'm still pondering. Leaning toward getting it, though. Fairly new at all this at my old age of 63. If I do buy it, it will be my first dive into anything almondy or fruity. Normally, a written description mentioning almonds or plums would instantly shut me down to it, but having smelled it...yeah, I could go with it.

I have both Sauvage (EDP) and Carbon and find I reach for Carbon more in the day, and Sauvage from late afternoon onwards and I tend to later it in the evening with TV. Luna Rossa Carbon was such a great buy for me. I rarely get compliments but Iv had two from it. Sauvage edt just doesn't seem to suit me, all I smell is the screechy top. Scandal was a big disappointment for me smelling it in store. Recently bought Explorer as its currently on sale for more than half retail price. I like it but not sure what setting to wear it in.

I have a sample of Spice Bomb Extreme, and recently bought Mercedes Benz Club Black here in Australia really cheaply (less than $30 USD). I can see how someone might feel they serve a similar "function" in a fragrance collection, but they aren't really anything alike. Moreover, if Club Black was $75 USD and SBE was $100 USD, you'd be nuts to buy the Mercedes - you would need twice the sprays of Club Black to compete with the projection of Spice Bomb Extreme, and the Spice Bomb is just a much more interesting and charming scent, in my opinion.

If you don’t want to spend the money on sauvage it’s unlikely your going to spring for the now more expensive PRada so that’s not an affordable price point either for a substitute either I think that if you don’t like the dna your not going to like this either it’s kind of like saying if you don’t like fierce you’ll like legend or legend edp. On the other hand if you like the dna and want something cheaper than those lavebture intense is great but the best to me is the limited edition cdnim parfum that one is still very smooth and gets you very very close to the real deal and performs better

I love the Versace and the Chanel Sport but to me they are not alike at all. The Chanel is more complex, much more modern, more luxurious smelling, and more sexy. The Chanel also has the Chanel DNA you can pick up in most of their perfumes. I agree they are in the same "scent profile" but so are hundreds of others. For the price Versace is a bargain and everybody will love it. The Chanel is not to expensive for a Chanel but what it does is make you stand out much more as a person of taste and class even when wearing jeans and a t-shirt.

I have both CDNI and Explorer. Both have their pros. Explorer is a much smoother frag all around, and yes not as long lasting. Just use more, 4-6 sprays will last you all day. I also layer them too, best of both worlds.

Niche fragrances in general are overrated in my opinion. I respect them for what they are and the purpose they serve in the fragrance world, but why spend $200-$600 for a fragrance when there are plenty of designer fragrances you can get for less than $100 on discounters. Because at the end of the day, like it or not it’s just a bottle of Cologne 😂 Also can’t believe Dior Homme Intense didn’t make this list. Save some money and get Valentino Uomo Intense, or Givenchy Gentlemen EDP instead
