I remember hearing about AW Phoenix Festa after enjoying the anime its based on, so I took a look and was like "oh my, no thanks" lol. This was also a good reminder that I need to get around to playing Lost Dimension eventually. It's one of those games I got so long ago for cheap and forgot to play it and now it's in storage with some of my other Vita games. I've heard good things about the comb at in particular so I'm looking forward to playing it.

The problem with Ys 8 is it got recognised after the production cycle was over. So due to poor initial sales and traction taking too long,well here we are with the game costing a pretty penny on all platforms

Just discovered your channel and subscribed, great stuff here! I'm a huge RPG and Vita fan, so I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. I was sad to learn that A.W. Phoenix Festa was delisted--I bought it years ago and my last save was right before the final battle. Got distracted and never finished it, then eventually deleted it from my Vita to make room for other games. I was planning to download it again and use my cloud save, but now... it's gone from the Vita store. Ugh! I should have finished it, at least!

I just don't have enough space for the 100's of Vita games I've bought digitally, and though I've backed some of them up on my PC, AW never made it--I assumed it would always be on PSN.. You know how that PC backup process goes... it's a bit of a headache.

As a Vita collector, I know the struggle! I used to own all the games you've mentioned besides AW Festa but I had to sell my entire collection almost 4 years ago when I had 172 Vita games... since then I've restarted from scratch and let me tell you that I don't pick up games for it often because of the prices! For Ar Nosurge Plus there were no regular copy released outside of Japan as we only got the Collector's Edition which is why you had a hard time to find one! It will be cool to see the opposite of this video by doing the less expensive games on the Vita (it you haven't done one already that is)! Great video and keep up the good work!

I’ve also had to restart collecting from scratch. I can’t imagine having to do that with the vita! Goodluck, but I also didn’t get into it till late like 2019. Amazing handheld tho and a jrpg goldmine. I hope to visit Japan one day and see what it’s like for the vita there. In my area of the states there’s nothing. But thanks for the heads up on Ar nosurge. Oof, yeah some of this hit hard. I do have P4 Golden, Mary Skelter Nightmares, and the PS3 versions of Lost Dimension & Ar nosurge though! Ar nosurge Plus still hits hard anyway cause I remember when it opened for preorders, and I couldn't order it at the time cause I didn't have the money. Now I could probably save for it I guess but yikes that price is a bit much 😬 As for other pricey JRPGs... Looks like both Criminal Girls 1 & 2 are up there in price. First game is on Steam at least but looks like 2 is stuck on Vita. Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines also seems to be pricey, although I'm not sure I've ever seen it cheap though since it's an ASN English physical release (NA release was digital only). Dungeon Travelers 2 seems to be climbing as well, and that's already been taken off the digital store (RIGHT when I was going to buy the DLC for it too grrr). I don't think it's on anything else either, which is a shame cause I think it's a pretty good dungeon crawler! (Haven't beaten it yet though)

I know... I missed out on a ton of these but yeah that ship has sailed for me. I don't even look for vita games anymore (Mostly bc there are literally none in my state out in the wild apparently). But that's so cool you got those! I bet your PS4 collection is legit glorious to see! And man some fantastic and pricey recommendations here. I always wanted to pick up Oreshika. I laughed because I thought I had most of those games but after looking at my vita collection I yelled out, "F**K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am surprised I have a few of these. I would have thought Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus would have been cheaper than Estival Versus. Valkyrie Drive Complete can be bought on Steam cheaply, but as you stated, I wish it was ported to the Switch. I got Lost Dimension on the Vita but could not purchase it on PS3, unfortunately. Too bad it was delisted. . I wanted Ar No Surge but found out about it too late. I have never heard of the most expensive game on the list.

I purchased Demon Gaze on switch based on your recommendation last week 🤘Persona 4 Golden being ported to steam and Xbox was great news! Now they need to drop it onto Switch! Looking at you Nintendo! 👀 I’ll probably be getting Ys 8 and 9 on PS4 although I hear it’s definitive on the vita. Man oh man have I missed out. When the vita launched I was working 7 days a week and crazy hours so my gaming was limited. Wish I would have known then, what I know now. Yeesus! $600+ 😱😱😱 Thats crazy! Dang, a lot of these games look super fun, but I don’t even own a Vita 😅. As a new fan of dungeon crawlers, Mary Skelter and Persona are two games I’d love to try out, though. I’m also curious about that SK x Neptunia game you mentioned, as I’ve heard a lot of great things about SK combat (haven’t really heard anything about Neptunia), and the crossover seems to have that hack ‘n’ slash action that I’ve heard so much about.

It's amazing how expensive these games are, especially the collectors edition. Good news that some of the games you mentioned (Ys 8, Persona 4: Golden), is being ported to modern consoles. I have Ys 8 and Persona 4: Golden on PS Vita, at a decent price (thankfully).

A lot of PS Vita titles were already hard to find on store shelves when they released so their value make sense. It's tough because at the time a lot of people didn't have the funds to buy up the obscure JRPG/Dungeon Crawlers over well know triple A titles. We are paying the price now!

Mary Skelter is available on Switch and would recommend playing it there. I cannot remember which game it is included with 2 or 3. Valkyrie Drive shows up on sale on Steam once in a while. A.W. Phoenix Festa is only sought after as Bandai Namco lost the license and delisted it, it is one of the most generic RPG visual novels and I could not stay interested enough to finish it.

Mary Skelter Nightmares is included in Mary Skelter 2. I played the first one in Vita and I liked it, but didn't find it indispensable or something like that. The nightmares are cool concept and the "licking" mechanic is interesting, even if it made the game a little way too easy. Some bosses can still one or two shot kill a party member though. I'm currently playing Demon Gaze 2 (digital, obviously) and I find it pretty good. A little better than the first one, but I kinda think Stranger of Sword City is a little better.

As far as I know there is no standard edition of AR Nosurge plus. Any version sold without the extras is just missing them for whatever reason. I wish I had splurged more at Gamestop when they carried Vita. So many titles I'd frown at for being $30+ are now so expensive. My locations had them in the backroom for quite a while after they no longer warrantef shelf space.

@@HallowedBeThyGame Yes, that one was only sold in limited numbers by Koei Tecmo America, and sadly only as a Limited Edition at that, no Standard Edition. In Europe the game was digital-only, which was a big bummer (and it's still full-price at €40 on PSN here). I may have and only play the EU version, but I managed to get a sealed copy of the Limited Edition from a private seller from Norway for €260.
