Nick Carter became successful for being in a singing group and he still does just that, just because the music isn’t what people consider mainstream music doesn’t mean he should stop making music. Not everyone goes into the music business to be famous; some do it maybe because they actually enjoy singing. He could have tried to go mainstream to be more relevant but he makes the kind of music that makes him happy. I always think about Prince and how even in his final days he was not relevant and mainstream but he still did shows and continued to do what he loved because he had that passion. Should someone have told him to stop because it wasn’t what was popular at the time. If you are an artist and you keep working on your craft whether or not anyone appreciate it then I respect that and no one should tell you otherwise. People who become famous for nothing is a whole other story but don’t bring people down who are actually doing something whether or not they are famous for it. This list should be more focused on people who became famous from reality shows and imo showing no real talent.

Such as his comic thing in ’99 cause he loves comics, his first solo album he said everyone wanted him to go more mainstream, but his influences were different so he went a direction he wanted to go in, and he wanted to grow as an artist so he would be better when he did another album with Backstreet Boys. They are such a positive influence in a time where it's really hard to find that type of music.
