Another brilliant tutorial from the gretest master of photography ever. Bless your heart, thanks so very much for sharing your hard earned knowledge and wisdeom to the world. As you so rightly pointed out, Light and knowing light is so important, as is exercise and practising, the rest are also important but knowing light and putting the time to learn through practise is somehting people often over look. Wish you a great time among your loved ones, cheers :)

I always enjoy your videos. You left out one important point, though, it goes hand in hand with practice... "experiment." Thinking outside the box... Take a subject that's been shot a million times and try to light it in a way that you've never seen done before. A person will learn what doesn't work before learning what does.

Yes, experimenting is key!

Hi Karl, I thoroughly enjoyed your series on the Hasselblad and it's attributes. I have purchased a X2D and I think it's a wonderful camera, however I am getting really frustrated with problems with flash. I bought a Nikon X2T trigger to use for off camera flash and I have to say I am not happy with it's performance when it comes to flash. I love using my Godox AD200 Pro but when used as an off camera flash in TTL mode the output never varies when I set exposure compensation from +3 to -3 stops. In Manual flash mode it works as expected and is usable. Do you have any ideas why this should be happening? Regards Michael

Hi Michael, I'm afraid I don't as I only use studio flash (non TTL) with a broncolor trigger on top of the X2D to activate the camera. My understanding was that the Hasselblad system used the Nikon SB flash architecture but I suggest you get on one of the Hasselblad user groups on FB to find out more, I'm sure someone there will have the answer or speak to your local dealer.

@@VisualEducationStudio Thanks Karl, Nikon don't make it simple to use a Nikon flash Off Camera with the X2D, you need to buy an X1R receiver unit as well as the X2T Nikon trigger unit. On camera flash works well. Hasselblads compatibility with the Nikon system in TTL mode is very much hit and miss, not impressed with their TTL performance. I realise you only use Non TTL flash and under stand the reasons for that choice. It would be interesting if you could try your Broncolour gear with the X2D in TTL mode.

My bête noir as an architectural photographer is hdr or dehaze is over-applied to windows, such that window views look like hung paintings. That’s not how light works.
