I really appreciate the fact that you covered these pieces of lost media without using any suspensful background music, spooky editing or ominous undertones in general. I find that a lot of channels make use of such tactics when discussing lost media as a topic, even if the specific piece of lost media isn't even disturbing in nature. Instead you gave us a fascinating overview that was informed, intriguing, and even relaxing. As a person who loves the subject of lost media but can do without the needless "tension factor" drummed up for theatrics, I thank you.

Another lost show would have to be Pinwheel. Nickelodeon was originally called The Pinwheel Network and its flagship program, Pinwheel, featured human actors cohabitating with puppets in a Victorian-style home, very similar to Sesame Street. However, unlike Sesame Street, there was very little educational value to Pinwheel. The show was produced from 1977 to 1986, with reruns airing on Nick up until 1990/1991. No complete episodes are known, but there are a couple of videos uploaded to KZbin or elsewhere that pick up in the middle of an episode and then proceed on to another episode. The episodes featured scenes from the Pinwheel House segued by animated shorts primarily produced in the U.K., France, and Canada. Some popular shorts included Paddington Bear, The Magical Roundabout, Hattytown, Chapi Chapo, and Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings.

There's also this show called Just for Kicks that was on Nick for a short time before being pulled off the air a few months later. After it got canceled, no reruns were shown neither on The N/Teennick or the main channel until someone uploaded all the episodes on KZbin in 2016. It might be a matter of time when Viacom might take it down. If not, it means that they probably forgot that the show existed.

I was actually in the audience for a recording of Splat! in 2004 on vacation! I don't remember much - there was one audience participation game in the stands where we had to hand-off sponges to the person sitting next to you, and get them into a bucket on floor level. It was timed, like 3 minutes or something, and whichever of the four sections had the most sponges won. I just remember I was 10, I LOVED Nick gameshows, but the whole thing just felt really underwhelming.

There's one lost piece of Nickelodeon media I haven't seen brought up much. In fact, there was an entire content block planned for main-channel Nickelodeon intended for a roughly 12-15 demographic that has nearly all public information about it completely lost. The block was planned in the very late 90's, around 1998. It was meant to have a few completely new shows (definitely more than 1; likely 3 or more) in it. However, not only was the planned block cancelled but so was every single show attached to it... except one: 2001's Invader Zim. That first paragraph contains literally all the known info: We don't know how many show were lost We don't know any creators attached (IZ's staff not withstanding) We don't know the names or premises for any of the shows (again, minus the only one that got spared) We don't know why the block was cancelled, We don't know if it was all animated or if there was some live action (though it's likely the former given the only surviving show happens to be animated and it'd explain why it was a block for the main channel, not Teen Nick - up until the introduction of The Splat in the late 2000s, Teen Nick was nearly all live action content and there's still never been an animated original for the network) We don't know if it was all original or if there was some imports We don't know the block's name either And we don't know why Zim was the only survivor The only reason we even know this was a thing at all is because of statements about the production for Invader Zim in interviews and DVD extras. It's a very important part of the creation story of the show, explaining why Nickelodeon chose to hire Jhnonen Vasquez to make a cartoon for them and how Zim ended up on mainline Nickelodeon despite being intended for an older audience. If it had met the same fate as the rest of the block, the entire public wouldn't know it was even a thing. What's odd is a lot of people in the animation community are familiar with this story due to it being integral to the creation of a cult classic, but there's been barely a search for any more information about this programming block. I doubt we're gonna get production material or anything obviously but like... just to know any more info about it - it's name, what shows were planned, what it would have been like - would be nice. There are a few confirmed but cancelled shows that may have actually been for this "main-channel teen block" due to both official statements saying they were intended to have darker content and the timing. The most notable 2 being: Clarissa Now: Intended sequel to Clarissa Explains It All showing the character as an adult and stated to touch on more mature themes; it's live action, but it's still not impossible the block wasn't all animated The Patakis: A spin-off of Hey Arnold! focused on a teenage Helga's visits to therapy as she talks about her family situation. Given even the original series touched on the abuse and neglect in her home life, not a surprise this was stated to be darker The latter show almost definitely was for this programming block, but no statements have been made for or against either of these shows. It's also important to note both of these examples are spin-offs. If there was other completely new IPs like Invader Zim, they're pretty much completely gone

1. I'd forgotten about those shorts with the angry vegetables, but I remember them being a thing now. 2. Does anyone remember when UK Nickelodeon kept using dogs in their promos? It was around the time that (almost?) every day of the week had its own Nickelodeon name, like "Watch Your Own Wednesday" (which they had before all this), "Thrilling Thursday" and "Grand Slam Saturday" - the promos would be actual real life dogs doing things, but they would have people talking over the footage to make it sound like the dogs were speaking. Like there were some where they were outside being interviewed (one promo had them being asked if they could live in a world without Nickelodeon) and the named days I mentioned had two dogs facing each other and conversing as well as other things, depending on what day they were advertising. Is this lost media, because I haven't seen it in years... It got to be mid to late 90s at the earliest.

Since this is fairly relevant to the video, I'll ask this here. On Nicktoons, there was this short that would air between main programming during the mid to late 2000s? It featured this pink monster looking thing, who bellows out a note at the short's title card, before the short plays out with him going to the store. My brothers would call it the "Musical Monster", but for the life of me, I can't think of the name of it. Would anybody else happen to know about this short?

I remeber this Nickelodeon short. I'm pretty sure it was claymation or just disturbing animation. The name of the show was probably someone's last name for example Simpsons but I just can't remember it. In the show a member of the family would be in the bathroom and struggle with something, for example one episode the dad was combing his hair but one strand kept sticking out and at the end most if not all of his hair fell out. This one episode was scary to me when i was a kid but all I can remember is that the daughters face turned zombie-like in the episode. And in the last episode that I remeber seeing, the mother kissed the mirror at the end of the episode which made a stain from her lipstick. Does anyone else remeber this?
