We have used the outside cleaning brush in a drill for many years! Another handy tip for fittings is to cut the handle off the cleaning brush and put it in the drill. This will really speed up copper fitting cleaning! Happy Plumbing!

Just take a regular outside cleaning brush drill a hole in the center, put a flat head bolt in there and a nut and you're ready to go. Just stick it in the drill.

lostintime86 you can use a car battery post cleaner that has a cap for the terminal cleaner side. Take the wire bristles off the terminal side of it and you’re all set

the little butane torch is nice. But for home gamers, I prefer the larger butane torch you'll find at cooking stores for creme brulee. It's cheap, the flame is much hotter and gas can is bigger.

Back then you needed to also do automotive work or know a veteran, then you'd have used a crow foot socket, they work the same, for the facet mounting nuts we used needle nose pliers..

I'd say I've already got around 70% of these tools. No. 10 the cleaner with the drill attachment, seem interesting. I have the manual version of this & it's reasonably good. The faucet union tightening spanner, I wonder if it would fit European unions 🤔. Great stuff bro as always, keep them coming & thanks for sharing your knowledge 👍😜

Can you recommend a tool you can make a 90° flush cut with pvc drain pipe. Seems like when I use a sawzall or a hacksaw it always comes out uneven so therefore doesn’t seat properly at the fitting stop. Also a tool to chamfer the ends after you cut them. Excellent videos by the way!!

I have a pair of those brass craft ratchet pipe cutters and they will not work with PVC!! Every time it shatters the pipe. I thought that I got a defective one so they sent me a replacement and they still shatter the pipe. Though they work great for black poly water pipe and hoses!

Try rotating the pipe or cutter slightly while squeezing slowly. I use Rigid cutters and find the trick works well on pvc

For those ratcheting cutters for plastic pipe- most of the cheap ones seem to be crap. Good ones I've seen are quite expensive. I haven't tried this one--does it really hold up?

@@Got2Learn Thanks for the feedback. One I can remember using is a Kobalt model that had a really soft blade. After 3 cuts the blade bent itself and chunks of the metal folded with standard Schedule 40 PVC. There is a youtube video in which a user shows this in real time with a single cut. Avoid!

I don’t know if you have ever worked with wirsbo and expander tools to do water lines cause it’s way faster than crimp rings at least in my experience as plumber that’s all I use . If you haven’t worked with it I highly recommend to any plumber.

The torch is a good idea but those are definitely pro press couplings no torch needed lol
Those fitting have a Solder Ring inside them, not a gasket. They make a long repair coupling that’s really nice for replacing a Freeze burst section of pipe, especially in a tight area. What he didn’t show is you still have to sand and flux the pipe.

#3, the AutoCut, I just used one on a job and while it cuts great, I found that it leaves a ride on the exterior of the pipe being cut. This won't allow the pipe to fit into a fitting without doing lots of 120grit sanding. It was a real pain in the neck, adding a lot of extra time to the job. I think the pipe cutters with a tightening knob are better because you can add pressure gradually, thus no ridge will form. In tight quarters though, the AutoCut is a must.

Yeah I noticed that to, when it starts doing that I just change the blade.
