Missed a very important one: Before you make your next move(farm, fight, or score), please look at the top of your screen. Top left is the map. If you don't see enemy icons on the map and you're approaching their side of the map, you need to turn around. They're either hiding in tall grass or you're not close enough to see them. Once you see them, it's already too late. Top center is the clock. It's not just an indicator for how much time is left. It tells you your score in relation to the enemy's and let's you know of map events. The boss always spawns at the same time. If you're dominating all game long, you see "We have a huge lead," but they last hit Ray, don't tilt and surrender. Huge lead is over a 100 point difference. The max you can score at once is 100. You're fine. Just defend. They're allowed to get one or 2 scores off. You're still winning. Top and bottom Regi always spawn at the same time. Birds and bees always spawn at the same time. Top right shows you how many enemies are down and how long it will take them to come back. If you see 3 or more pictures up there, don't waste time hunting down the last 1 or 2. Look at Rayquaza. The time it takes to take down the last guy is enough time for everyone else to respawn because the last one is probably bulky or shifty. It's the only reason they're the only ones that survived. Don't take the bait.
@greenmenace96664 ай бұрын
Whoa. Somebody with a solid sense of map awareness--which is key to carrying in SoloQ. With icons, I'd suggest counting before a fight. If you're outnumbered, play like it. If you see someone on the enemy team scoring and you outnumber the enemy team, don't poke--engage. And pray that your team has enough awareness or trusts you enough to follow up with a good ping. The last part especially bugs me because there isn't a clear consensus on what to do. There isn't a perfect answer. In my book, the simplest answer is this: remember your win condition at Rayquaza. If you need Rayquaza to win, don't sacrifice the team fight to go score. I can't tell you how many games I've lost because someone wants to go off and score as soon as the team engages. I can't tell if they think that's the key to winning or if they just want MVP. Sometimes you can sneak a score in right at the two minute mark, but it's better to team fight most of the time. In my personal experience, the higher up your rank, the more afraid people are of taking Rayquaza. I've had many games where my team got an ace, and my team went to score and then ping to wait in the bushes. When you're ahead, it's good to know the enemy's win condition. Which is often Rayquaza. Take away the enemy's win condition, and they can't win. The simpler the win condition, the better. Stalling is pretty complex, but it's oddly popular rn. There are times when it's too late to do Rayquaza and it's a close match. If you leave and score a hundred points too early, the other team can react while your team is split and in a bad position. Personally I wait until there are 30 seconds left to pull off that stunt. As the enemy team waits in the bushes for someone to come, you dunk on them for the win.
@LeAndre_McCoy4 ай бұрын
@@greenmenace9666 I would've gone into Rayquaza timing, but that's more of a nuance I wouldn't put on new players. Generally, when the clock hits 40 seconds, I hop on the mic and tell my team we don't have enough time to do Rayquaza and to just score whatever points they have.

@@ayushbaranwal1094 I don't mind playing with people, but I do like being able to communicate, so I tend to look for discords when it comes to teaming up. Here's my two cents with your issue. That certainly happens a lot. What I do personally to climb out of that is to play a Pokemon who is good in PvE and in lane. Most of the people who rush Jungle in that elo are only thinking of reaching level five--which means that they farm their jungle once and then never again. You just keep an eye on their jungle and, more often than not, you can effectively "switch" with the person and give your team the best chances of success.
@skorch98ers4 ай бұрын
Another one that small and doesn’t go for noobs but just in general is when you and an ally are farming exp. For example: if you and an ally are attacking the same farm, and your level 9 but your ally is almost level 9, let them get the final hit, they get their massive buff (Unite mov), while you will get a bit of exp. This goes the same for level 5, 7, 11, and 13! (can vary depending on Pokémon)

My mains: Support - Hoopa, Clefable Speedster - Dodrio, Talonflame Attacker - Venusaur, Chendelure Defender - Slwobro, Snorlax, Blastoise, Trevenant All-Rounder - Garchomp (Main), Blaziken, Gyarados

@@GiozardJr. For defenders, Snorlax is a good choice since its moves are pretty much the 'stereotypical tank' ones, and people really underestimate what its Block could do. Slowbro is another easy choice, with its ability to shut down an enemy carry. Play Umbreon if you want a Hybrid. For supports, Clefable is my fav since it not only heals but also serves as a counter play to many aggressive mons. I like Hoopa simply because no one else does what it does. Wiggly is good against physical mons, and Mr. Mime! People really underestimate this mon's engage capabilities. Like, after possibly Blastoise and Snorlax, Mime might have the best engage.

And im not talking only for those grenjnja or cinder gold shitters, im talking about every damn player that thinks maining a pokemon is a good idea. You wont get any better by doing so, at least you will get only worse. I have almost 3k matches in competitive, yet i still dont have any pokemon with more than 200 matches. If you lock in few pokemons, you are not versatile in picking, you are just a weight for the team. If someone takes your "comfortable choice" its over. Play as much pokemons as you want, its normal not to be super good for the first 1k matches, but in those 1k matches, play and start to understand as much as you can.

On top of (9), not sure if it is just me but I find it so annoying when a Solo Q Eevee goes jungler and only does one of the buffs. The amount of wasted exp there. If you were duo you could at least tell your teammate to take the other one, or the baltoys, or help you go faster. But on Solo Q, your allies can't guess that you are going to waste that exp and they may not be prepared for your surprise early gank, so you won't get a chance for those kills.

When it comes to respecting team comp, I agree with you in principle. However, I can also say I understand why people are reluctant to fill roles like defender and supporter. I used to be a defender main. I have a gold ribbon on slowbro. And over my many games, I was frustrated to find that all too often, the people taking the carry roles just didn't deliver. Yes, defenders are needed, but playing one means surrendering most of your influence over the outcome of the game to people who often let you down. Honestly, I don't blame the people who aren't good with carries. I blame the matchmaking algorithm that has become increasingly inconsistent over time matching you with teammates it shouldn't.

gotta correct point number 2. Good players constantly get mad a bad teammates who you dont understand your even playing with at your ELO. Then also the bad players are mad at their teammates because they always blame shift while sitting constantly below a 48% win rate adding to point 4. people who que as duo or trio should expect at least of the roles to be defender or support. Too many double or triple attackers queuing together

Some more mistakes are : - Taking mons which can do well in lanes, to jungle.. or just taking wasteful mons to jungle. (The number of times I've seen magikarp, pikachu, and some other really useless mons jungle is insane) - picking mid lane when someone already called for it - not showing up mid lane at 8:00 (its not really necessary but it helps your jungler win fights incase the enemies are there too) - not overcapping while breaking goal zones - breaking the goal zones way too early (like even before the 2nd altaria spawn) - not showing up for objectives - not showing up for rayquaza - defending your goal zone, instead of farming that one single baltoy - ripping ray when the entire enemy team is there (mostly the deci, cinda and greninja ppl do this) there are alot more but these are the basic ones, which almost evrryone forget about, too often.
@valentinperez17564 ай бұрын
The mistake number 8 is one of those that pretty much wins or looses you games for how aware and good you are while playing around it, I don’t like bringing other games up… but in lol this is one of the most important things, most characters in both games have a movement that can pretty much counter many plays from the enemy team and JUST by having that move up, like, not just randomly using it for poke, legitely just having it available for a counterplay, you create a lot of pressure, and if the enemy doesn’t respect that then you can punish them. Like light screen from mew, if someone jumps at you, you can pretty much punish them for doing so, they won’t be able to engage on you so easily and might loose their mobility as a consequence, having zacian’s sacred sword makes you pretty much impossible to catch or engage and it just keeps going, it’s something many players should be aware of, cuz it is something that REALLY changes games, all of these mistakes are so common in the community that at this point anyone who comes from a moba that ACUTALLY has a community that is aware of how you play will have a chance to be around top 10000 if they just spam enough games, even silver players in lol would destroy most of this community, let alone diamond and above, Pokémon unite REALLY doesn’t look like a MOBA that has actual MOBA players, it’s sad…

Very true. #8 is a mistake I see in ALL ranks VERY regularly. I mean, not surprising considering you can have a sub-40% win rate and climb to Master. Just look at the average Rayquaza fight. Like 6-7/10 players will just blow their loads all at once and hope it wins them the fight. No strategy, no foresight, nothing. But at the end of the day I blame the game for letting these people not really learn anything yet climb to the highest rank AND never drop out of the second highest rank thereafter.

with current matchmaking win rate means squat. until they fix matchmaking it's actually more important to look at who plays smart. getting unlucky enough to be paired with new players under 100 total matches that cost their team the game all the time can make you go from an 80% WR down to just 30% in 1 weeks time. 98% of the player base is trash and play worse than bots and it's such a horrible problem that more than 62% of people who play the game no longer play it. many of them dropped out do to legendary pokemon being introduced and being so OP that even bad players can sweep with them, then they get nerfed and the bad players who made it all the way to master starts to trash your WR with lose after lose. matchmaking makes all of us noobs.

"The 10 Pokemon Unite Mistakes Only Noobs Make": 1 - Chasing Opponents Onto a Tier 2 Score Zone - (It usually not worth it. You can find other useful things to do for your own experience points or team.) 2 - Playing While Tilted - (Realize how your mindset can affect your current gameplay. Take advantage of opponent misplays.) 3 - Taking Useless Fights - (Look for value all over the map that can benefit your team. There are usually objectives or teammates you can join up with.) 4 - Refusing to Make a Good Team Composition - (Have some flexibility in making sure your team gets what it needs. Maybe have mains in each category) 5 - Not Prioritizing an Evolution - (Look for better/more certain opportunities for experience to make sure you evolve. Avoid piles of opponents at the beginning if you need to.) 6 - Playing a Pokemon Because a Pro Played It - (The typical gameplay experience will differ from a pro or content creator. Find your own niche.) 7 - Playing Aggressive Under 3 Minutes Left - (The last team fight is too important to be unprepared for. Got your ult ready, be high level, be with your team, do not stray.) 8 - Not Detecting Move Cooldowns - (Detect when opposing mons have used or are about to use their abilities to avoid CC or burst damage. Be careful not to overextend after using your own.) 9 - Not Playing In Position - (Know how to efficiently play Jungle, or how to support a lane. Know that you may need distance from a fight, or have to attack the back of a crowd.) 10 - Not Using the Unite Move Right - (Use unite moves for how they would get the most value [groups, supporting, zoning, etc], and try to not use your's right before the last objective fight.) And my own #11 and #12 and #13: 11 - Not Peeking at the Map Often - (The map is crazy useful at knowing where your best opportunities lie. It is almost cheating. Try to keep an idea of where the whole enemy team is. Try to estimate your teammates' next moves according to their movement. Track the objectives.) 12 - Not Using Communications Effectively - (Only use communications like "group up" or "check it out" for crucial moments. Overuse can cause people to not listen. And listen well to see what your teammates need.) 13 - Not Looking at the Clock - (This game is so much about timing, and you can really get a lot of value in knowing when wild and objective Pokemon show up. Think of the game as a build up to the final team fight, and try to scale your own levelsing and abilities to that timing. Intro, set up, crescendo, finale.)

U forgot that teammates will tend to abandon a lane with multiple enemies in favour of an objective. Team objectives are important and all for gaining experience and levels but it being in favour of stopping the enemy team from dunking 40+ and 50+ points in your goal zone is detrimental. Players need to stop trying to do objectives solo unless their fully aware that their teammates are close enough to provide backup and scope for potential steals, smh.
@VexylObby4 ай бұрын
@@tweeterx7932 I think those issues are covered in those rules. Going to an objective solo: Not so good, probably poor experience efficiency. But everyone leaving the base for it to be captured in favor of the objective? I think that’s usually fine.

Matchmaking has been absolutely horrible the past two months for me and my usual duo. This game has a way of really getting me tilted- but I don’t take it out on teammates. Wish more players just silently tilt like I do. Every single game I’ve had the past 2 months has been one side stomping the other- I’ve maybe had 1 game where it felt remotely even on both sides.

As a jungle main Greninja, I 100% agree that you should go back to jungle right when your farm is respawning. However, there are some issues that can prevent me from going back. One example being my team ALWAYS wants to fight for whatever reason. Another example is my team is taking the jungle because they can't pick up any KOs to level up and are instead becoming farm in and of themselves. There are a couple other issues that you could probably figure out just by playing jungle a bunch, but those are the two main ones.

Mistake #1: Shhhhh...that's why a comeback is possible half the time. Playing while Tilted: A better banning system is really needed to deal with people who wait until the end of the match to cuss people out, otherwise the whole "we can't chat with each other to protect younger users" is moot point and we should be allowed to communicate in game outside of "Thanks!". At the very least, I want to ban them from voice chat. I'm pretty darned sure that swearing up a storm for all to hear isn't helping the person have more fun with the game. Taking Useless Fights: What I would put here instead is "don't force fights." Because people like to force fights *knowing* they're outnumbered for whatever reason, and then spam ping the person who wasn't there. Like, you as the player should take into account that you're outnumbered and play like it instead of going into a 4v5 when you're behind. It's one thing if it's Ray, it's another if it's Regieleki and losing that Regi might lead to them chasing us into our goal zone. Honestly I like playing aggressive just after the 3 minute mark and bait out 2-3 unite moves before the Rayquaza. Several of these noob "don'ts" are absolute "dos" for me because people keep making the same mistakes. Bad Comp Picks: What Spragels is describing is known in Mobas as a "Power Pick." It's where you have a popular, maybe even broken Pokemon that you want to play. If you're playing Ceruledge rn, but you're picking last: T-r-a-d-e...u-p. Not only do you get the "power pick", but you block the other team that wanted to play the character. On the other hand, if you're playing Machamp or a Buzzwole, it's probably safe to trade down so when a Slowbro or Venusaur asks to trade up, let them. This isn't just an issue in Pokemon unite. People in all mobas get a little carried away with "counterpicking." Playing around Cooldowns: Spragels likes mages. I don't like them as much for this reason. There is a clear window to attack for BOTH Pokemon. If Espeon misses Psyshock it's a sitting duck. I'm not sure why Spragels dislikes Decidueye so much.

For me, tilt rarely happens because one big thing went wrong. It's usually a combination of small things over the course of a string of games that are suddenly triggered by like, one piece of stolen farm or missing an attack because a Blastoise Surfed the opponent I was targeting out of the way, or one person DCs for 10 seconds at an inconvenient time, and then I'm on tilt. I even made tons of screenshots of the final graph to understand what is going on. And it's always the same pattern.
@_freebirdnerd4 ай бұрын
I would like to counter points 4 and 5, if I may: - if I'm a lower pick in draft, since I tend to play Defenders or Support these days, if the top picks are not selecting those categories, I will request a switch. Too many matches I've had this switch ignored then the other team takes my preselected pick/s. So I think it's unfair to blame the lower ranked players here, especially since they may not be that much lower in reality (that's actually a more general point: just because somebody is "higher ranked" in a given match doesnt mean they are actually a better player). - the reverse is also true regarding evolving: when I'm a Slowpoke trying to evolve and a Lv 6 lane partner or jungler keeps stealing last hits, it's very frustrating! While it's important to make sure you level up and evolve, it's also important to make sure your allies do too, and that might mean backing off a piece of farm when your ally is being level gated. Remember: you win as a team, you lose as a team.

10:40 was waiting for you to mention jungle😅 My issue specifically is that in >80% of my matches, lowest MMR begins by insta-locking jungle. Then the match begins and *surprisingly* they have no idea about rotations. I'm lucky if they show up to 8:50 gank, but it's almost a CERTAINTY that they won't be present in the center at 8:00 for birds. They also don't know to prioritize contested farm. So let's say it's 8:09 and they're leaving a lane to go farm. They'll go back to their jungle instead of going to the center for 8:00 birds, leaving me a defender or supporter to try and prevent the enemy team from claiming all that exp (usually to no avail😊). Then once regis spawn, they almost religiously go top for eleki while I'm begging them to come bottom (guess nobody likes teamwide exp!), and in legitimately 90% of cases they're doing this while the top t1 goal is still up rendering the eleki secure meaningless, OR it's moving to t2 and they swiftly abandon it while the enemy team secures bot regi meaning at both lost the exp AND got nothing out of eleki! This level of decision-making continues throughout the match, usually culminating in (as you mentioned) the entire team watching in horror and they try to score 50 at 2:25😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 ____ If I'm any of these scrubs, it's playing on tilt, specifically because I can call exactly how the majority of my soloq matches will go and it's exactly like this😭

4. It's the reason why I stopped playing Unite for a while, I want to play it again, but I think once reach Master Rank I will quit again, until next season, because being unable to win, because some dumb teammates chose what I am supposed to play and they play something stupid or not fitting the team it's just boring. Draft is good only when you play with organized teams in tournaments, not in basic everyone-can-reach-master-rank mode. 5. That happens mostly to defenders with few or low damage secure moves (like Wartortle, third hit is not a good secure from your allies, it's an hope or better cope) and you have again, dumb teammates that last hit everything you are trying to farm (I'm supposed to stay alert for enemies, not for my teammates), so you are stuck and you can't evolve before getting ganked by the whole enemy team "Thanks jungler, I really needed to not get that exp and evolve, hope you can fight wel- oh they are already dead, if only I was evolved and they waited for me, instead of stealing my exp and going straight up against two enemies of the same level. Well not everyone has two braincells, sometimes they just got one I guess". (And I say dumb people, because after 1000 hours you are not supposed to be a "noob"/"unexperienced player")

Trust me, I try to go to the jungle as much as possible but I always get tempted to help my team defend goals because there’s an underlevelled Rowlet afk at spawn or smth and there’s five opponents at one goal ☹️
