@@spectralknight7142 I have a high speed antiquarian with good dodge already spam the dodge buff skill, a high speed Jester running buffs, MAA using Bolster and a High damage 4th character (Leper does wonders in this and Highwayman allows some good fun too). Due to early buffs and trinkets, the heavy hitter can clean at least one enemy and I don't get hit too much for turn 2, then it's riposte/guard and buffs until the fight ends. The most sustainable version I could think of is Antiquarian, Jester, Vestal and MAA; if you use the scroll that makes Vestal viable in position 2 she and Jester's bleed can deal damage on some turns and heal HP and stress on others. Vestal also has some prot buffs on camping skill too.

The hound master for me is one of the most versatile classes in the game, it does a good duo with a Arbalester, Bountyhunter, another hound, musketeer, etc. he can be pretty agressive plus his stun, put marks for the dps like Bounty or to support a glass cannon, love the doggie, she's a good girl

One of the best combinations i have found is Shieldbreaker and Highwayman in the first 2. What's so broken about that is; You can use point blank shot of highwayman to it's full effect because shieldbreaker doesnt care about being moved around. Highwayman and shieldbreaker can swap positions to reach anywhere they want as needed. Need dot? Push Highwayman to 1st rank and open vein + captivate spam. Need cleave damage? Buckshot + impale will clean up real good. Start highwayman at rank 2. Push him forward with duelist advance, gain parry. Then push with shieldbreaker or point blank shot highwayman back. No rank is safe with these 2 dancing around.

I had a week where I got two Shieldbreakers. And frankly it is quite amazing, the dancing is not a problem when you just bring another of them. The immense reach is wonderful, if one of them kills a backliner, the other targets something else. If she fails, impale the lot. They do such impressive raw damage and have respectable dodge, it really is an excellent class for when you need someone to reach out and kill something.

I'm new, and I discovered a solid team, with the sacrefice of damage. Houndmaster Abomination Plague doctor Vestal Point is simply: stun, blight, bleed, heals, control. Everyone has a stun Ability, PD stuns & blights the backline, also can blight one of the forth line ABO blights +2 the 3rd enemy + for blight+1 2nd enemy + weakens, can stun the first 3 enemies, and has self sustain HM gets a bleed for the whope enemy group what causes even more status Damage with the 2 blights of ABO & PD, + he can stun too VES Group heal + can stun the backline with a Bit torch bonus Basically you stun, blight, bleed, weaken the sh- out of the enemy, they Can't do anything in many cases, and when they skip a turn of the stun the bleed/blight do their job. But It's an other Thing if this works on higher levels, so, if you have some useful Information, It would be welcome. Edit: And yes, I know Houndmaster at First will take away really good tools of him, the strees healing and self sustain, but so far this team dominated Everything.

Thoughts: 100% agree on Flag/PD and GR/Abom. I had no idea other people used them like that, so it's gratifying in a way to see them work out. The ability to spam "cleaves" is so good. The fact that PD can get a high enough Blight chance to even affect resistant enemies is clutch. Meanwhile Beast Bile let me actually appreciate Thrown Dagger/Flashing Knives which I had discounted when first playing the game. Double Houndmaster is good for the same reason double Bounty Hunter is. You don't get the same speed control as the BH Mark gives, but Hound is naturally faster, you get two Guards, and you get 4 Treats to just go full ham on pre-Camp encounters when buffs are a little low. More damage=less Stress=less need for Stress heal=more buffs in Camp. I like Occ/Arb, but it's a bit weird to see a team without a -Prot Marker. Obviously Occ was go-to when Occ de-Stealthed but...yeah, that was pretty broken. I would either want to see another Marker to help manage 50% Prot guys in the Weald/Warrens...or make sure you bring Shieldbreaker. Who is just good at everything, but one subtle thing she's amazing at is resetting other party members after a shuffle or push. Which actually pairs her great with Leper. SB ability to hit any rank, de-stealth, break Guard, Pull, etc means Leper can just focus on thwomping frontrow or drawing attention away from the sometimes squishy SB. She also has a big DOT to facilitate late stalling with Solemnity. Cru/SB is probably better but...people will want to Shambler hunt with Leper for the memes, might as well make it viable, right? MAA is a hard one to place. He's probably best with HWM for double Riposte strategies, taking advantage that if an enemy dies on a Riposte, none of the secondary effects of their skills will go off. So with double the Ripostes, you have a greater chance to ignore partywide debuffs. It also resets Duelist's advance. It does feel like cheating since literally everyone is good with HWM, but that's just how it goes!

Dual houndmaster becomes especially good if you bother to frequently adapt position, skills, trinkets to the situation. If one of them gets injured put him in the back so he can heal or destress. the one in the front can be the stunner.

My favorite pairing is PD and Hellion. PD's embolding vapor lets Hellion use Bleed Out and Yawp without needing to waste turns on adrenaline rush. Yawp and Blinding gas will stun all 4 positions in 2 actions, giving you incredible advantage in terms of action economy. Having both powerful blight and bleed also means there are very few scenarios that at least one of them can't pull the others weight.

My favourite duo to run is Abomination and Hellion, myself. Between the two of them they can flip on a penny between extremely powerful stun support and truly obscene burst damage, without any loss in reach. They have a pretty good amount of sustain as well, especially with the Abom's heal on transforming.

Your videos are great! i like using Plague doctor and abomination when i'm hunting shamblers in ruins and cove. Not only the blight stack is really good vs unholy and eldritch, but in the shambler fight,by using transformation into rake for the extra damage and vapours in the abomination, its possible to outspeed the tentacles in the next round and oneshot then with another rake,while leaving the other 2 characters attacking the shambler, and since no tentacles are alive, the shambler will keep summoning more unbuffed tentacles for the abomination to rake, and he won't shuffle the party, its a GG!

I'm a fan of running Highwayman and Man-At-Arms together for more ripostes. Use MAA's guard ability, and you have it where 3 out of 4 positions an enemy attacks will trigger a riposte. Another duo I really like is Shieldbreaker and Crusader, just do a infinite loop of impales and holy lances.

Flagellant/Rank 4 MAA honestly carried me during my first ever "Wolves at the Door" run a few days ago. MAA's kit might be somewhat weak in the back rank, but Bolster backed up by Endure ended up overperforming for stress management (albeit, in large part thanks to a lucky dodge streak) up to the boss room, and Defender paired with max-level Reclaim absolutely trivialized Vvulf's "Bombs Away" thanks to the combo of 80% PROT and the bonus to healing received from the Guardian Shield. It was even a pretty fun "full-circle" moment for me, too. Using Rank 4 MAA paired with Flagellant against the Apprentice-level Prophet was the first time I ever tried a "gimmick" set in Darkest Dungeon, and now over a year later-- where I've taken to always putting my Crusader in the backlines and have started running Solo in all of my Jester sets-- that same combo of Flag/MAA has gone and taken out one of the most dreaded bosses in the game for me (with a similar mechanic, to boot).

Depending on the region, these are my favorites: Ruins: Graverobber + Abom with the speed, lunge, blights and stuns, its just a fun and efficient synergy Warrens: Houndmaster + Flagellant is problably my favorite in the game, they just destroy everything with great support skills. Cove: Plague Doctor + ManatArms idk groupers are just assholes that pull and crit every round, so my favorite oldman protects PD while she slowly kills then with grenades. Weald: Shieldbreaker + Hellion kind of a weird synergy because SB keeps dancing around but with their combine damage, not even the PROT mushrooms dudes can handle more than 3 turns. Great video my dude

@@ShuffleFM Im glad you liked it, most duos are more about synergyzing damage right? Like marks, bleeds and whatever. But ive lost characters before (plague doctors) because I lacked that extra guarantee that the guard gives. Manatarms resists a lot of stuns too, and has a stun... And below haha. Why have two eyes if can you just scream your way out of combat

I never thought to use these two (flag and plague) in a combo due to bleed and poison weakness being somewhat mutually exclusive. But now you mention it, seems like a great team

Im a huge fun of the Occ and Arb (i use musk but same thing really). This combo has done probably the best out of anything else ive tried and it has frighteningly consistent great damage. Im still like sub first DD so i might not know my stuff but yea thats a great combo.

Grave Robber also pairs well with Jester, Hellion and Houndmaster if she takes flashing daggers, which especially helps the bleed chance of Harvest and If it Bleeds. But it's more of a clutch synergy if you wander into the cove with a team that has mostly bleed DOT abilities rather than blight (oops) to offset the higher bleed defence of the fishpeople.

A great 4 man team I consistently bring as boss killers and massive DPR with healing support is Vassal, Grave Digger, Plague Doctor and Flag. I call it “plague inc.” And just stack the blight and bleed until enemies are just crumbling to dust. Only down side is stress can be an issue… but good plays and trinkets to lower stress really save that team. Only place its effects are a little lesser are in the ruins because bleed is useless in there but generally Flag has enough raw damage to just push on with blight support.

Definitely houndmaster and bounty hunter. Theyre a good support for marking targets for each other, and then smashing down 2 tile enemies (or just decimating whole formations) with camp specializations, outrageous extra marked damage, and super high bleed chance attacks mixed with stuns. Blight might be better for damage over time, but considering they work so well together, damage over time doesnt matter when you can destroy whole enemy formations within the first 3 or 4 rounds (mainly just needs a stun substitute for the houndmaster). Likewise, MAA and Hellion are awesome for flat dpr mainly because maa defends hellion while she hacks away at enemies relentlessly, and if the man at arms needs health, then hellion can easily keep surviving death's door with adrenaline rush until the maa can start protecting her again. Works well sooner rather than later, as health becomes a big issues for the two, but it's a great frontliner combo, and using camp abilities increases the duration of the pain train with dpr, health, and stress abilities

Honestly my favorite thing about darkest dungeon is there is so many cool combinations that you can do to build in a party that if u end up with a bad party ur doing something really wrong, for most things can interact in cool ways on this game. THe learning curve is so huge your always learning something, i have 500 hours in this game, already beat the game and im still learning more optimal ways to play

Usually I'm using houndmaster instead of jester in my mark comp, but jester seems as better choice cause of that speed buff...

I'm a massive fan of BBHH (Backline Bounty Hunter and Hellion). The Shuffle & Pull are great, Caltrops is underrated, and when the hellion crits she gets a bonus 33% damage vs bleeding targets; something quite easy to do with the right trinkets and quirks. Also being able to control who's in the back line for iron swan is quite solid, even if it's for a mere 1% crit chance increase. Running Flagellent with this combo is pretty solid as well- but that's besides the point.

Arb n Occ is busted… u can literally bring anything to full HP from deathdoor in 1 turn. That's why u won't have to worry bout the bosses in Weald

2 SB should be mentioned, running double impale obliterates everything in the cove and ruins, and pierce trivializes high prot targets in weald. I also strongly feel that jestal + 2SB is the best farmstead comp out there.

I started playing this game and I’ve got to say- two Bounty Hunters do indeed carry. They’ve got the best things in the game: stuns, backline yoinks, setup and damage. Plus they are cool

Plague doctor & hellion for stunning the entire enemy team every 2nd turn. Stuns synergize well with their bleed/blight skills and hellion can also attack rank 4 from the front which is usually a priority target.

I do love to play with grave robber (pos 3) + plague doctor (pos 4). They're both pretty strong on themselves, but together one can blight everything while the other hits hard with the blight bonus.

You can add abomination on pos 2 and leper on pos 1 for a blight battlecruiser team, or highway man + crusader for a diving team.

I'm surprised you never mentioned the Shieldbreaker and Highwayman. Point blank shot and impale rotation + jestal makes most dungeons a joke.

As someone who has played a lot of Darkest Dungeon but only now come to read about potential metas and community discussion, there are a lot of things I've learned from this video. Firstly, it's good to know that Occultist can pair with something other than Deathblow. I'm in the endgame and I just cannot hope to run a successful Darkest Dungeon run (or a medium+ length red difficulty dungeon) without a Vestal on heals. I do have two level 6 Occultists but I use them almost exclusively for Antiquarian cash grabs or levelling up replacement recruits on smaller runs. The other thing I'm seeing here is that I am not using my Jester correctly. In an average 4 enemy unit fight I tend to run Harvest-Harvest-Dirk Stab-Finale. I've never even considered using Ballad which looks to be a massive error. For ages I've wondered what the point in Leper was, given his accuracy loss isn't offset by particularly high damage. Now I know. Would quite like to try a Vestal-Jester-Leper-Hellion build off the back of this.

My favorite pairing is definitely Plague doctor and Occultist. The heal Occultist has is very inconsistent but that's ok since Plague doctor can heal right after anyway. And since Plague doctor's heal cures bleeding you get rid of the risk of healing less damage than receiving. I love to combine them with Leper since if everything fails he can heal himself no problem. Not the best strat I'd say but it's really fun to use

I'm pretty new so I only have experience with what works on the lower tiers of dungeons but running these tactics have made the lower tiers trival for me- Arabelist and Vestal are a solid duo - if you're low on HP on one party member specifically but your other party members could use healing too, arabelist can use the bandages on the one primarily damaged and you get the healing buff applied when the Vestal heals the whole party. And if you need an emergency operation done in the middle of a battle basically - you're covered as well. Healing wise too, if you're cool with a heal technically requiring two turns to use properly, the Arabelist and Crusader work for the same dynamic above except for only healing individuals if damage output is paramount - and more so if you have a high-dodge group. Also helps for antiquarian runs if you need the money but having only two available spots for fighters is too high of a risk. To be honest, running the Arabelist with a party of self-healers is solid. Running the Hellion and Crusader kills almost anything I've come across so far in a single round. Combined with the Highwayman and the grave robber, you can make a squad that can be shuffled/surprised and it does not matter.

Honestly i like pairing musketeer with bounty hunter. Musketeer can heal, and does a ton of damage against marked, and can mark targets themselves, so together theres huge damage potential
