She was not known to me either, until I heard about her death in a you tube video. Her name was familiar and I recognized her face, but I didn't know much about her. Karly C ,I hear you and agree about these people willing to take her place. But, this was NOT a " tragic accident." Kevin James Loibl didn't "accidently" take her life. He went to the concert with the sole plan to shoot and kill her. Big difference. All anyone is really saying is that they wish they could've done something to dissway him from pulling that trigger. No offence to what you said, but if I were there and saw this man about to kill an innocent person, I would, knowing myself, try to stop him. I was in the military and I know what sacrifice of the few to save many is all about. It isn't, in my case anyway, about valuing my life above hers or anyone elses. It is about doing the right thing and attempting to divert a serious loss of life. You must realize that this guy that shot her had no value for any life,including his own. He could have just started shooting everyone in the frame of mind he was in. Also, Christina had just begun to live her life. She had a promising career ahead of her that she was deprived of. In my case, I have knowledge of various fighting and disarming skills where if I had time, I would have tried. If I failed, I'd stand a good chance of getting killed , too. Or, I ' d get killed in her place. The way I see it is something needed to be done to save the lives of the many. I 'm just one person . If I could sacrifice myself to save her life along with many others as well, and stop a madman from killing innocent people, then so be it. That isn't what I' d prefer at all, but if that is what it would take to stop that man from taking other lives, then I ' d have no choice. But , the reality of it is that something like that happens so fast there isn't any time to react. It's over and people are dead before anything can be done. Now dont think I am saying my life is any more or less important than Christinas or anyone elses for that matter, because it isn't. I'm just speaking for myself only. But , I priden myself for putting myself in another person's shoes. I do understand where you are coming from, though. It does sound like many of these people making these comments about taking the bullet think they are less important, but you're right. They are not. You have a great day.
