Dear Jens Larsen: I admit I get wrapped up in my own compositions and have figured out a way to utilize some bebop phrasing in my own compositions in a way that actually works for the mix that I am doing that doesn't sound pretentious or out of place. I think that it is important to maintain uniformity and continuity between the chords and lines so as not to cause an alienation of one's own integrity. I have to admit that there are certain ways about the teachings of Barry Harris that are undoubtedly well worth exploration. On the other hand I have to ask myself; what exactly compeled him? Through dark of storm and dead of night, never fail to do what's right. Duty calls.

Great Vid. I remember a couple years ago your vid on minor subdominants changed the game for me. I'm happy to see you linking it so other people can discover that. It's funny, I tried arguing your point (on reddit) that the ii7b5, bVImaj7, iv and bVII7 all serve the same function on the basis of the shared note principal. And they said I was wrong and downvoted me into oblivion! Also I really get a kick out of your video transitions when its you in the same exact seat but just from the left side instead of right

Can you post a video on sight reading tips. I recently joined a jazz stage band and they can sight read new charts at tempo. I'm a guitar player that knows a lot about the theory you're talking about and we could talk ad nauseum about that but it doesn't help when you have a chart put in front of you and 5 seconds later the director is already counting in. Help!!
