Hi from Peru. I left the UK, the rent is too damn high. That plus the politics of the UK is sending it into the ground for the next generation. Also, in the USA, race issues seem to be totally embedded into the mental fabric of the whole of society. Even if the racism stopped, the belief that it hasn't stopped, would keep it alive. Other countries are not like that.

This wasn’t about minimalism, this was about a left leaning person whining about capitalism. Capitalism and minimalism are two separate categories of things. You can be BOTH a fan of capitalism and live a minimalist lifestyle as well. Anyway, poor people spend all their cash and have nothing to show for it in exchange other than “nice feelings”. Smart people will spend their cash on things that can be resold later on. A vacation worth $2,000 and you come back empty handed. Where as a watch worth $2,000 serves a purpose and it can be resold as well. It’s an ASSET. Memories aren’t assets. Expensive dinners aren’t assets.

I do like to point out that all of the issues you've stated are not unique to the US. Many countries also have greater national (race identity) contributing to the greater potential of racism or outsider discrimination. Also all of these problems can be solved by finding a community in the US that fits you better. We have 50 states of varying personalities and cultures. Just do a little research and save yourself the danger of culture shock. You can become just as isolated if not more by leaving your home nation like that. This is not to a discouragement, but rather a warning to carefully think your actions view. This comment is more so for people other than the dude making this video, who has clearly at least thought things through to some degree that he feels the need to justify his action.

I agree with the minimalist lifestyle and not going out to eat but let's face it- if everyone does this people in the service industry lose jobs, and dining, movie theatres, and shopping centers close down and become vacant buildings. Local economies need to be jobs but mindlessly blowing money on overpriced food, junk, and "entertainment" that we don't need isn't the answer either.

I lived in Los Angeles for 57 years and after being a victim of three armed robberies, my brother getting slashed up, and my neighbors getting shot in their heads while getting their carjacked. I moved out to the country in the Sierra National Forrest near Lake Tahoe. Up here I feel safe. I am retired with a Teamsters pension and S.O.S. I have no contact with family or old friends and rarely see my neighbors because they all work like dogs. After all, houses and everything else here in California are so expensive. We pay the highest taxes in the country. I don't drink or do drugs and eat a very healthy diet, I go to the gym and that's about it. I never feel lonely I only feel good. By the way thanks so much for serving in the army, I didn't because I was against the Vietnam war. I wish you all the best in life and always do what's best for you and the hell with everyone else!!

@@chrisleaf Two armed robberies were at work. I worked as a bread delivery salesman for thirty-three years and when I first started I worked in Watts and Compton California. My next-door neighbors were killed across from our condominium in San Pedro California. I had some nasty ass street fights too. Many brothers think white dudes can't fight so when that started something they got knocked out!! My brother was slashed in Redondo Beach by two brothers. The police followed his blood trial from the beach up the street to our house. My poor mother almost had a heart attack!! I was never involved with drugs all I did was work and work and work. I also spent a lot of time at the gym staying in shape. To this very day, I still look at everyone as individuals, not as a member of a race. I have known many awful white people two. The elderly lady across the street is black and she is from Southcentral Los Angeles. She came here to get away from crime also. She always calls me Sweety because I help her with snow removal and I drive her to the store when it snows hard because she doesn't have four-wheel drive. She is about my age maybe a bit older. I was born in 1953 and the way our country is going I don't see much of a future!! Good luck to you I hope you find what you are looking for!!

I am Brazilian and I have the authority to tell you the reality of things. 1 mass shooting In Brazil, every day is a mass shooting day, but spread across several points, in 2022 there were 41,300 violent deaths. Only criminals have firearms on the street, so be careful when filming with your camera and cell phone. If you have your cell phone, the criminal still forces you to say the password for the bank app or else it's game over for you with a gun in your head. 2 Affordability You will be surprised to see that you pay little but that little will not return to you, the streets will be full of holes, weeds will grow and there will be no public safety. 3 Walkability If you need public transport in Brazil to go to work, I'm sorry but you'll change your mind very quickly. 4 Health Care, No chance! Here, if you break a leg, wait at least 6 months to have surgery, at least! It's free but it doesn't work You are comfortable because you sold everything in the USA and came with US$, a much stronger currency that the local currency, that will allow you to buy a lot of things here, but I bet you that in a maximum of 3 years, you will return tô US so happy!

I agree with you. Many of the problems the US has still exist elsewhere and come with other problems. I see his point but I also think he could have moved to another state like Colorado or Idaho and been okay. Florida is like a completely different country. He has good points but several of them can be solved easily, or by moving to a different state with different culture.

I'm Canadian, but aren't tons and tons of Americans almost pathologically obsessed with religion? I always thought the USA was one of the world's most heavily religious countries (y'know, NOT including the likes of Shitholistan type outfits where the personal whims of hardcore religious zealots are the only rule-of-law.) Americans (and Canadians) are obsessed with money because we live in a part of the world with extremely high cost of living.

@@devilsoffspring5519 yes, but because of lack of political commitment to our own interest, we allow corporations and corrupt systems (IE equity funds now buying up the the rental market in the US and Canada. IE Corporations backed by private equity groups such as Blackstone and Pretium Partners bought tens of thousands of homes across the U.S. Sun Belt. Prices for detached homes have increased faster in key Sun Belt states than the national average.) In Canada, 1 in 5 rental units are owned by equity firms, etc. And in BC, over a third of all condos are investor-owned, with the number jumping to 41.2 per cent in Ontario. I love Brazil and the area you’re in. But your list is everywhere. this man is oblivious. he’s walking around in Florianopolis, the south of Brazil which is very safe. As for the rest of the country he is claiming, is violent just as the USA if not more. Hopefully he doesn’t get a get mugged while walking. Healthcare in Brazil is a mess. Break a bone that needs surgery? get in line for half a year. If he were trying to make money from Brazil, it’s near impossible to get ahead. The only reason this makes sense is because he’s an expat or bringing in outside money. Brazil also deals with racial issues depending on the region. I visit Floripa every couple years. Wife is from Manaus, Brazil. It is very, very challenging for the people to get ahead who are actually there. The wealth gap between poverty and wealth is terrifying. Hope this guy finds happiness in Brazil. But it’s not all sunshine and rainbows and every country has its challenges. Best of luck. Edit: this creator is now in Chile..? So there you have it. A nearly impossible luxury had he come from another country such as Brazil, unless he came from wealth or a privileged family. Sounds like the USA is pretty damn good if you ask me. Hopefully he can salvage the expat life to make this all possible.. or.. until his next trip home to hoard cash for the next trip.

Random gun violence in america is actually very rare. Like getting struck by lightning. When they count mass shootings they count gang members who actually know each other and are shooting only at each other, thats why the numbers of "mass shootings" seem so high. But if your just a regular person going to work every day essentially ZERO chance youll be shot by anyone.

And why are there so many rules? Because people turn to govt and demand action for every little thing that happens. And politicians are gonna do something so they can be seen doing something. Take prohibition for example. It was a minority of women and people wanting to make money on the illegal trade who made it illegal. A bunch of Karen's complained to congress and they made a law that gave rise to the mob. People demand action then we all pay. I prefer govt do little to nothing they mess it all up anyways.

Brother, You had me at the first reason; but the one that got me was #9 - The Search for Truth. What you said about the History Channel and the lack of accurate attribution is true right across the board, starting at JK... Nursery School. You nailed all the points. If you are ever in Kenya... hail me up.

We just got back from visiting Kenya and Rwanda. It was great! For the first time we experienced Black Privilege! It was weird and humbling at the same time. We bought land and will be building an Airbnb estate. Can’t wait till we can bust a move like you brotha.

Congratulations on your big move. I Was in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico 🇲🇽 last year and the culture was much more relaxed and the people were super friendly I was depressed when I had to fly back to Philly but grateful I got to experience a different culture than the one I’m used to. I can definitely understand the bigotry in the states too being mixed race myself. That panic that sets in when around law enforcement it’s a ptsd that never goes away. I hope the human collective can eventually evolve past this materialistic and separatist mindset sooner rather than later. I wish you all the best in life!!!.

This guy chose a terrible region to live in, because the south of Brazil is very racist and prejudiced, even towards Brazilians from other regions, they call themselves Europeans and it is a cold region with beautiful beaches and cold waters, the northeast region is very most beautiful, beaches with pleasant temperatures, as there is summer, all year round, and the cost of living is very low, look on yt for the states called Maceió, Natal, João Pessoa, Salvador in Bahia (the only African and beautiful territory in Brazil ) Porto Seguro is also in the south of Bahia, this place has paradisiacal beaches, exuberant nature, cliffs and summer all the time, and in the southeast of Brazil, there is the beautiful state of Minas Gerais, where the cuisine is the best in Brazil, lots of nature , wonderful mountains. Rio de Janeiro is beautiful, but it's better to go for a walk there, never think about living there, this state and its terrible rulers have surrendered to crime and corruption.

I’m glad you’re doing well brother. I’m a fellow military veteran and I seen your why I have no friends video. I was at that same point in life 5 years ago. I started to reach out and say you gotta change your mindset and presentation in order to see changes in life. Changes in friendships and relationships come with that. Looks like you pivoted in the right direction. Sometimes that change takes you to different places. I feel your spirit, it has changed and I’m glad you are enjoying this short time we have here in this world. Keep doing what you’re doing brother, you are helping pulling people out of the fire. Greed is destroying America. Yah bless.
