We just moved here from Atlanta and it is a different world! It’s like time stood still in the 70’s here! The local and state governments clearly don’t care to spend money here. On the other hand, the people are super nice and neighborly and the nature is beautiful like Atlanta minus the humidity! We moved to be closer to our daughter and family and that’s always a good thing!

For those considering relocation: Please identify why you are seeking a move. Are you running away from something or to an opportunity? The unique culture, weather and lifestyle is this way for a reason. You must assimilate, otherwise you are simply bringing your problems to a new location.

Thanks for your input. The only thing constant in life IS change. If you were to move, where would you go and how long would you expect that place to be the same before it changes too? Not trying to be harsh my friend, just the reality of life is that nothing ever stays the same. Thank you for watching.

@@Casinogamer790please dont bring this kind of a work mindset to Arkansas because it will make Arkansas like California or texas! @Casinogamer790
@Casinogamer790 Ай бұрын
@@Jounrananiroj I've got news for you pal. People are pretty much the same everywhere. You don't see it because you have never been anywhere else for any significant amount of time. I mean sure you might leave on vacation and what not but as far as trying to live anywhere else I seriously doubt it. And people here aren't that nice to each other either. You only see the fake side of people. It takes an outsiders point of view to see through to their true colors. If you have ever tried to start over some place new and see how people react towards you as an outsider you would know what I mean. You are afraid of anything and anybody who is different than what you have seen in the little bubble that you grew up in. You are afraid that new people will try to change your way of thinking and your way of life. You act out of fear and ignorance of the unknown. You make false assumptions not based on facts but a deep rooted fear of outsiders. After all you don't know me or even what my mindset is but yet you make judgements against me and others that you know absolutely nothing about going off of a simple comment about traffic for God's sake. That just shows how closed minded you really are. You are a product of your small town environment. You are probably one of those who are fixated on outward appearances and never willing to look past the cover to see the good in people you don't know. You should give people a chance instead of trying to discard them or write them off over petty little nonsense things that don't amount to anything anyway just because it doesn't align with your point of view. And you are living in an area that is growing at a rapid pace due to job opportunities and a declining economy of course new people with all kinds of different lifestyles and perspectives will be moving there from all over the country and the world. What do you expect? There is nothing you can do about it. You either get over it and go on or get the hell out plain and simple. The world doesn't revolve around what you and people like you think. The sooner you learn that the better off you will be. Keep in mind that many of the people moving there are doing so because they don't agree with the politics in their home states.

I live in the NWA area as well and agree with everything covered, but I will say for anyone wondering - on the weather portion you are usually going to have a week of zero to maybe as low as negative ten every winter, and summers are no joke. I was grilling for the fourth in 110 heat index, which can stick around for weeks at a time in summer. You sort of get used to it after awhile, but it will never feel good thanks to the humidity. It will feel like a hot, wet blanket covering you the second you step out the door and leave you sweating for hours after if you have to do anything labor intensive outside for any amount of time. It's something to take into account if you are used to lower temps or a drier type of heat, wear light clothes that quick dry and always have water on hand and try to stay in the shade when you can.

I live in the river valley and see Texas plates everyday on I40 and I49. Everything in this video is accurate!I do welcome new people but I will add, Benton and Washington counties are getting more blue in their politics every year. People, if you are moving from an area that is in turmoil from left wing political views and you continued to vote in that way, then don't move here and mess this area up in the same way. The definition if insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Look up whats happening to Austin Texas...

Thank you for your input, my friend. I do try to make videos as accurate as possible with real facts, statistics, and of course, many first-hand accounts. We are in a country where we have freedoms of having our own opinion and voice, and even more, so how we interpret the world around us. For goodness sake, there’s 75 (not an actual fact, no clue how many)different kinds of churches that all are some form of the Christian Faith lol if we didn’t have different opinion, they would all be the same church. :-) same goes for politics, restaurants, schools, what is truly entertainment and what is not. I get your point however. Keep in mind that just because someone is moving from Maybe a politically charged state does not mean that’ That is the only reason they are moving to Arkansas. Could very well be family, finances, we’re just a straight up change. I do understand the tone of your message, my friend. Thank you for your input and thank you for watching.

@@LivinginBentonville We must be real, the influx of those with the DEI progressive mindset will eventually bring chaos and social regression to the areas of their migration, Austin TX is a prime example. People are leaving the state of CA by the hundreds of thousands and various liberal/progressive areas bringing their baggage to the Bentonville/Rogers area this very moment. They'll never outrun the problems they create...when they learn that, things get better for them, if not, here we go, just look at Austin. We all understand the free choices in lifestyle and religion are personal and varied and protected by the constitution, that is a given! Personally I do not subscribe to any "faith", I could care less what the religious people or the gays do in their own time, not my business. Live and let live, likewise we do not need the new progressive racism, DEI, etc, it is actually regressive. ;-) Here in Northwest AR we succeed by merit alone, nothing else matters. Settled people will move out of desperation, a need arises, the need to escape high crime, high taxes and tyranny, then while seeking a "change" many will bring their baggage/mindset that caused the chaos in the place they are fleeing. Be the change you want to see! Thank you for the video, well done.

That’s a great question, my friend. With pent-up demand for buyers, low inventory, lowering interest rates potentially in our future I would bet as an investor you better buy something now as opposed to waiting for the traditional Buyer market to heat up then you will be in much more competition with others. I'm one of those license changes that happened in 2022 when I sold my house in Florida and moved to Arkansas. I watched my city of 8000 in Florida grow to 275k over a period of 50 years. People started pouring in in the 80's because housing was cheap and job opportunities were high. By 2022, I felt like a stranger in my hometown. These people moved in complaining about how awful it was wherever they came from and immediately set about turning my hometown into the dump they moved away from. I chose Arkansas for several reasons, but the biggest was the taxes and small town life. I bought a reasonable home, and the taxes are literally 1/20th of what I used to pay. I'm starting to see more and more home sales here for houses smaller than mine with less land and plenty of California or Texas license plates. It's reminiscent of 1980's Florida, and it's scary. I foresee a future here of traffic, violence, and crime, just like what I escaped. Fricken sucks, and I am likely going to sell within the next 3 years to avoid the BS I see coming. I've lived this nightmare before. The house two doors down is 400 square feet smaller than mine, it's on a standard lot, and sold last month for 100k more than I paid for my house 2 years ago on 1/2 an acre. Taxes are going to skyrocket with these new home values. It's sad to me because I like it here.

A smaller town with absolutely zero opportunity for growth. I thought I'd found it, but now they've built a Texas Roadhouse and a Whataburger near the exit from 67. Those companies don't just pop up for no reason. They know something. I'll find a place with no potential, like Greenbrier, if I stay in Arkansas. I have a friend in Kansas who lives in a town of 250. He's been there his whole life. They have a gas station and a blinking yellow light, that's it. Maybe that's the place for me? The United States is very big and very empty between the Mississippi and the Sierra Nevada, north of Oklahoma, on up. Maybe a patch of desert would suit me? I wonder if I can get Google Fiber or AT&T fiber out in the Mohave? My point is, there are plenty of places in this country nobody goes to on purpose. I'll find one and I'll go there.

I totally agree with you Ted. I’ve lived in NW Arkansas most of my life when not serving in the military and the outsiders are completely changing the tranquility of NW Arkansas. We have one of the world’s largest corporations here along with 3 other corporations that are some of the largest in the country and they have contributed immensely in shaping the area to what they would have it regardless of how Benton counties residents feel about it. Benton County is one of the few in the state that requires building permits Count wide. The reason they do that is so that they can report to the county assessors office immediately when you make an improvement to your property. One of the craziest things I’ve seen within NWA is the desire to build a bike path at every turn yet our road infrastructure isn’t keeping up with the demand. I predict within the next 10 years the congested traffic situation will be no different than much larger cities. I have the same inclination that you do about moving out of NWA. I desire a quiet life with as little anxiety as possible. Though the property I own was Rural and secluded just 10 years ago, now the city limit is a little over a mile from me. Then with the planning commission approving large scale quarry mining nearby, the Dump truck operations have moved in and robbed the peace and quiet and even robbed the enjoyment of listening to a single whippoorwill singing in the night. You’re right about there still being places that lead the quiet life. Myself, I’m looking at buying property in the Calico Rock area.

Yes sir there are those outline factors that probably aren’t weighed into some of those statistics however, this is what U-Haul’s report is from individuals renting U-Haul on a one-way trip. Other data that is probably slightly skewed is license bureau, statistics of transferees from changing their license plates from one state to another… Many people move states, and have yet to change their license plates… Thank you for pointing that out and yes, we can only be as accurate as the information provided to us. :-) Thank you for watching

I've lived in AR since '85, and retired here in '13. The area I retired to was considered a 'best kept secret' for retirees - by of all organizations, the US government. I own 10 acres and live on a lake - one of the clearest in the midwest. The only problem with the quad cities area of NW Arkansas is that they will eventually become purple, then blue. It's only a matter of time. That and the infrastructure is lagging behind the growth. Screw EV's, you don't want to go there no matter where you live. Gas prices are low here, even in very rural areas. So are electric and liquid propane and natural gas prices. And property taxes are low, but you will pay personal property taxes each year on the 'toys' you own. A downside is good paying jobs unless you are in the quad cities. Yes, I did my career here, and in of all places, southern Arkansas. I wouldn't recommend the southern half of the state, but there are many reasons for that if you'll search. For conservatives, AR is the place to be. Good and relaxed gun laws and home/personal protection laws. Great outdoors activities. Moderate weather in the northern half of the state, with hot humid summers but easy winters. Politics. Just about everyone in office is a republican, and it's not easy for RINO's to go against that. We have a much better governor in Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and that means Trumps eyes are on us-for obvious reason.

Why do none of these KZbin videos not mention northeast Arkansas? Jonesboro is one of the fastest growing cities in Arkansas. Jonesboro is a college town with lots going on. Jonesboro is a city of 70,000 plus people, but on any given day has 270,000 people in it. Being a hub community, people from all over northeast Arkansas, and southeast Missouri, come to Jonesboro for multiple reason. Anyway, northwest Arkansas is not the only place is Arkansas that has it going on.

I would agree 100% that Northwest Arkansas is very expensive in comparison to the rest of the state. However, even here in NWA, you don’t have to live downtown Bentonville to live in Northwest Arkansas. One cannot expect to live in the best school district, downtown, on multiple acres, in a huge house and not pay through the nose for something like that. Exactly, he erased my comment, following the same line, as a former commissioner whom lived & owned a business in Bentonville, whom left due to the insanity that the 05 Walmart vendor mandate caused, one which destroyed the town Sam Walton had tried for so long to protect, by keeping out all the vendors, I was fortunate enough to become acquainted with Sam and we’d spoke a few times about his vision to keep bentonville as the picture book small town he loved. I believe he’d be rolling in his grave if he could see that Bentonville has become completely unrecognizable…. I will say at least the channels operator partially honest about the elevated cost of living, except the fact that NWA has / is driving the cost of living up throughout the entire state & most the people I’ve seen living anywhere within 100 mile radius (& growing) of NWA can no longer afford to live in their areas on Walmart, Tyson, ect. wages, unless of coarse your one of the west coast transplants that they are hiring at or near west coast wages… Furthermore, the reason that Mississippi has the lowest cost of living is because that it’s also the poorest state in the union, a position that used to teeter between Arkansas & ol’ Mississippi, that’s why they have the lowest cost of living,,, Economics 101 but it’s okay they don’t mind displacing the families that’s lived here for generations with the prospects of a new state to drive into ruin like they did the ones they are fleeing… like perhaps California, and while doing so pushing all the native Arkansans out of the area is part of the plan… and nwa used to be inflation proof due to the huge economic impact & growth the area had, but it’s now in its own housing bubble worse than the one that caused the08 collapse, even in areas far removed from NWA are being effected by this bubble because the realtors are driving it,,, the fort smith area has had a huge influx of people paying way more for houses than their worth and buying them “as is” from areas like California &. Arizona, ect. Theirs a lady that bought the house next door to my mom’s for $135k that had been sold just 2 years prior for $68,000. The only thing the buyer did was spray paint the brick exterior, and put up some cheap crown molding, and rent it out for two years prior to resale and I’m pretty sure the same realtor was involved in both sales… needless to say the new owner has some buyers remorse… after encountering the plumbing issues, and the like, now she’s trying to sell it for $200k…”As is”… and she’ll probably get it since the city is building a huge water park with the entrance 100yrds away from her house…

I just saw this video, and I will say, these are all of the reasons I left Delafornia. In regards to real-estate prices, here in Mountain Home, it varies quite a bit. My little neighborhood had 10 houses 4 years ago and now we're over 24 homes. The average price to build up here is 265.00-285.00 per a square foot, and I'm perfectly good with that. Hahaha let’s drop in here a lovely detail Arkansas pays crap if you don’t have a degree. It’s stupid expensive to live in NWA if you don’t have an “import” job. Thank you for sharing your experience. I agree, it’s not cheap to live in Northwest Arkansas especially if wanting to live in Bentonville, Springdale, Fayetteville, Rogers. However, there are many affordable places to live in Benton and Washington counties and moreover in the rest of the state of Arkansas than there are in the cities named above. “Affordable housing “as you had mentioned is a subjective term person to person unless we’re talking about what the government considers “affordable housing” with their subsidized programs. I hate to break it to you, my friend, it’s not just Arkansas that “pays crap” to those without a college degree. APLU recently did a study of Young adult income earners that was nationwide, not just Arkansas. Their findings were that the median income of those without a college degree is 84% less than those with a college degree. Said another way, those with college degrees (in their sample set of young adults) earn $36,000 more per year than those without. Thanks for watching
