One important thing to mention about Quick Resume: it's great for single-player games/campaigns, but if you try to Quick Resume into a Multiplayer game, it glitches out and you often need to close the game and re-open it.

I bought it 4 months ago. I really like it, the last console I bought was a Nintendo Wii, DS and PS3 and since then I rarely play games because of work... and if I want to play, I mostly play on my laptop and phone. lol I got the S series for only 200$, buy GamePass Ultimate on the marketplace for 4-6$/month in my country. If you subscribe by card it's only 10$/month. For me, who is 43 now, Xbox+GPU with the addition of a keyboard/mouse for playing online games and old games as well as relatively new ones at that price is very cheap and valuable.

It does the job i guess, especially if you still have an HD TV instead of a 4K but to me is completely useless because it basically an upper tier Game Pass machine and i don't agree that Game Pass is great. I don't like services like Game Pass. You will be paying every month and probably for the higher tiers so you can play games as they release and it will get more and more expensive as it goes(all this services do) and after5-6 years of constantly paying if you stop paying you are left with nothing and a useless box. If you invested that money buying games you will always have those games and you don't have to constantly keep paying or be left with nothing. Not only that but games coming and going is definitely not my thing. I don't just play games in a month a finish them and move on. I have a busy life. I might need 2 oe 3 months to finish a game. If it's a big game i might be playing it for half the year or more. I don't need the anxiety of "finish this game or else it won't be here in 10 days". No thank you. I prefer owning my game and playing at my own leisure.

I just recently got it 3 months ago. was $150 with 3 games and 1 controller, I still have all my 360 games and my OG xbox games from years past. It was nice playing my Original disc's on the system, And with Gamepass. Just WOW.

I got a series S after i owned a ps5 and graphically it irritated me because it was a step below. Its like you want it to jus be a little clearer lol. But the size made moving it anywhere great. But if you want a cheap system and dont have the X or PS5 i say get it.

Thats exactly how i feel. I have a ps5 and have tried the s before but the 1080p graphics just don't do it for me. If it hit that 1440p for certain, id buy one. You hit the nail on the head though.....i just want it to be a little bit clearer and i use a 1440p monitor.

@@pawanmodupalli983 honestly, you will see a difference. There are other reviews out there also but going from a ps5 to a series s is pretty noticeable. Even on a 1440p monitor. If you dont care too much though, id say its worth it. It plays great and all the same games as the X does but it just lacks graphics.

Well ive been using it for the past 6-7 months its my main game device but rather than the game performance im gonna talk about a major problem about the web browser lets say you got discord on one tab and microsoft office apps at the second one you are on a call or texting to your friends and after a short period of time except for the tab you are on the rest of them refreshed and shuts down to save performance meaning when you switch to the office programs the moment you switch to the office programs tab your discord call will be disconnected and you will be offline on discord to give a better example the browser doesn't support quick resume feature theres some other browsers on the microsoft store but only this one supports keyboard and mouse also all of them are chromium based and you cannot add any extensions on it so if you think about well i wanna play my games and do my work on the browser for example homework and stuff like that consider buying a different device theres also some other problem i tried editing a video on capcut and it keeps getting shut down and giving me a error saying microsoft edge browser is consuming soo much ram it shut down to save some

I have the black 1TB Series S model and yes I still do very much enjoy my Series S but then again I opted out so I get the max enjoyment out of it. I have a high end 4k tv, the 2TB expansion card and a series 2 Elite controller as well I have a high end 8k hdmi tv wire which wow makes a hell of a difference. You think a 8k wire on a 4k high end tv well no it makes the world of difference and if you want to get the most out your Series S and I my option have almost better graphics then a PlayStation or series x then get the above things I said and you won't be disappointed!!!

As much as i hate the series S due to the fact that except for the disc drive it renders the series X just a more expensive series S as all games have to be developed to run on series S and so can't use the series X's power to its full potential, despite this... most of these points are valid. Only thing i would say is the backwards compatibility thing... If you get this to play old xbox games you already have and now have to start re-buying all your old games AGAIN, well this then defeats the object of it being cheaper. As the cost difference between the series S and X is now null and void after you have to spend a few hundred £'s rebuying your games. So this then counteracts point 1. They only reason this would be good for backwards compatibility is if you are new to xbox and were previously playstation, and are buying these old games for the first time.

Ghost of Tsushima is playstation but game pass does have a lot of games that are for everyone. If you want Ghost PS5 with PS Plus extra is the way to go. Extra is the PS gamepass.

This is a digital only console box and to be honest is mostly for people that want to use Game Pass. If you aren't interesting in paying for Game Pass or you don't like things like the games coming and going and having to finish them on a certain time etc that Game Pass has then i would suggest against it. Technically you could buy digital games as well but the SSD space won't last you for long(they now made a black one with a 1TB SSD but that is more expensive) and the propriety SSD's Microsoft came up with are so expensive that it defeats the purpose of buying a cheap console since you could buy an SSD at half the price for a PS5. So yeah, it basically makes mostly sense only for those wanting a Game Pass machine.

current gen games running at “reasonable decent” graphics settings” and “decent frame rates” doesn’t give us any actual information. These empty words are subjective. Also on different non bias reviews I’ve heard that Microsoft edge crashes after about an hour of use. You very much do not get 90% of a gaming experience on a console that runs most games at 30ish fps. TV’s from my experience have stored typical viewing apps on the home page menu. If you want a portable console get a Nintendo. If you want a portable console with Xbox specific games then just get a gaming laptop or ROG Ally. The Steam deck has pretty much the same performance as the series s but has better functions for activities other than gaming and access to more games.

Xbox series s has to be the best cheap all digital console I would say it's better than the Ps5 digital because with xbox there is a glitch were you get gamepass for 1 pound for 2 weeks is what I do and the graphic there is a difference between series s and x and ps5 series s graphics are not as good as the series x or ps5 but there is like 4 percent difference its worth it if you travel alot and its cheap too its definitely worth it in 2024

Bought a rechargeable battery in 2020 did even last two years. After four years my Samsung 65" smart tv TV crap out. Never buying Samsung again. Would like to get an Xbox series x console. Yes , every game that will come to the X version will also been released on the Series S . They will follow each other through this generation, but as always the AAA games will run in lower resolution but or up scaled.
