10 REASONS to BUY the Sony A7IV [in 2023]

After 6 months still loving my a7iv. It still produces the sharpest 4k image, sharper than A7S3 or ZV-E1. I don't have issues with rolling shutter with my style. 90% of the time i shoot 4k30 and the crop doesn't bother me as use sharp wider angle lenses anyway. Doing video for a living, but also photography work. This camera covers both and is a match made in heaven. The A7RV is a nice camera but has some flaws too. 8k24 with no active stabilisation, the 4k downsampled image is a tad softer and has noticably less usable dynamic range. I work with raw files only and do not need the 60+ megapixel. Maybe in the future. Having used 24 megapixel cameras in the last 10 years, i really needed the extra megapixel upgrade of the A7IV. So the A7S3 and ZV-E1 are a no-go for me for my hybrid workflow. When you need to capture short moments on events in video and photo, the dials on the A7IV got you covered. Also the customizable buttons are a delight to work with.

Love the A7-4 I think there is nothing entry level about this camera other than the price.It’s a lot of bang for the buck.You can buy two bodies for the price of an A1.Just saying.I certainly do not need anything beyond 33 megapixels.I can do just about anything with this camera.For that price I added a couple of nice GM lenses.

Yeah. If you take even a couple photos seriously though the A7IV is superior. I have the A7IV and shoot mostly video, want everything the ZV-E1 has and for the price can basically even trade...but I live in Vegas and I fear even just walking around in the summer heat the ZV-E1 might not even shoot 😳🤦🏻‍♂️ so I'm torn

Yea people don't realize how important proper cooling system is in your cameras. The lack of it in the ZV-E1 isn't just a minor annoyance, it's one of the biggest flaws of the camera and is my main reason for not even considering it.

Yes it should mount on the camera as that's also an e-mount. You'll just have to use the camera in crop mode all the time.

I have the Sigma Art 24-70 f/2.8. I use it for almost everything I do, I would recommend it if you can swing that amount. If you have a tight budget but want a lens that you can use for years to come then the cheapest I'd recommend is the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8. If you just wanna buy a lens to just get the job done for a bit and then upgrade soon, then you could look at the Sigma 18-50 f/2.8 or the Sony 18-105 f/4. Those are both APS-C lenses with similar prices and you can pick one depending if you value the zoom range more or the aperture.

I do use 4k 60p a lot. It used to bother me a lot but at this point I'm very used to it. I've just built my workflow around it at this point so it's not as much of a limitation anymore.
