I went to Appleton for spring break. I had a great time. People were buying me drinks at the bars and they were so nice. I just got a job offer in Menasha but I will be living in Appleton. My family and I are excited to move this summer.

I’m in Inver grove heights MN and it’s impossible to live here. The schools are great here, but other then me growing up here and the great schools, it’s awful. Crime seems to be creeping in more here too. Might have to take a look out there. ❤ thanks so much! Is there a bar in Appleton that is kind of on a hill? I remember put up in a motel, possibly a Super8, that was across the street. For some reason, I always think of that bar when I think of Appleton. #quadstatecameras

Appleton , Wi. is one of Wisconsin's nicest cities. It is a bit recession proof, being in the Fox Valley. It is a nice size city. Big enough to have most of what you might want, small enough that you won't get over-whelmed.

Sounds good Chris. I'm looking to finally cash out of Chicago - I'll get around $280K. I'll miss the lakefront and fast transport and the great architecture - but Chicago is getting too much like New York City in the late 1980s - I was there. I want to be around more friendly down to earth Wisconsin people. Are there things to do for me in Appleton WI? My hobbies are partner dancing ( I can do all kinds but the man has to lead), tennis and safe cruiser motorcycling. I can handle extreme cold - just not mean, cold no fun Chicago women lawyers. Do you think Appleton WI might be a good place for me ? Thanks Chris

Moving to Appleton in April from Texas. We are looking to rent for the first year but want to stay in the same area when we buy so our kids don’t have to change schools again. Is that possible? We know nothing of the area so it’s hard to decide where to rent and also where to buy.

all the schools are great, great idea to rent for a year. you could find newer rentals in Grand Chute (Appleton schools) and in Kimberly (also great schools) so yes, also you can open enroll, Neenah is building new high school in Fox Crossing, that area is growing, lots of newer duplexes in that direction too. If you want a small town feel i would suggest neenah or Kimberly/combined locks area. If you want to be in Appleton/Grand Chute larger area, bigger farmers market, PAC, parks I would suggest renting in Grand Chute. Text me if you want more info on renting. @@Mr_and_Mrs_Seiler Fox Crossing is growing, Grand Chute has newer rentals and access to alot of amenities. Neenah is mostly walkable and has charming downtown. Downtown Appleton has recently added alot of new rentals. Riverheath by the water is a cool place to live too. It is near a coffee shop, walking trail, water and they have live music on stages in summer. (sorry for late response was on vacation)

My daughter, her husband, their baby, and I are about to move to Appleton. Many of the main reasons we chose Appleton are not even mentioned in this video such as the low crime, the numerous Ethnic / International markets, and the most delicious, authentic Mexican food I’ve had since I left California (try the lengua, ceviche, or birria at Lindo Michoacan on N Richmond St). Appleton has all the convenient box stores and Mom and Pop shops, too. It feels like a safe and relatively diverse, family-oriented community and I can’t wait to move and check out the Blues Bash at the Gibson Community Music Half!

I’m tired of $400k, 2 bedroom starter homes in Central California. Rolling blackouts in the summer during 100+ degree weather and having to drive 1 hour just to maybe see snow in wintertime is annoying. Paying $6-8 dollars per beer at bars here is ridiculous. Paying a ridiculous gas tax and sales tax here in California is killing us... My dad worked in Appleton for a year and a half before coming back to California (the main reason he became a Packer fan)

Great Choice! There is a house in particular on Elsie Street that is just 105,000 and has a nice office area. And healthcare is a welcomed experience area here! Good luck if you haven't made your decision already!

I moved to Oshkosh from Detroit. The people are infinitely more friendly than Detroit. There's a foodie vibe to the town... you MUST go to Koreanas! It's the best sushi & Korean food in the state. You are within an easy drive of Madison, Milwaukee and Green Bay. College Avenue is fun on summer weekends to hit the bars and meet new people. The Fox Cities PAC brings in tons of musicals and plays. People are nice, friendly and open minded...

It's 85% White, low crime, and politically moderate. It's not a dump like Milwaukee, but people from Milwaukee and Chicago seem to like to come up here and try to make it a dump in the last 10 years. Other than that, it's a very music based town, very good food, some of the best bars and drinks in the Country, and mostly nice people overall.

My mixed family’s about to move there. Our number one criteria was low crime. Number two was diversity. We spoke to a Thai man, a Korean man, an Indian man, two Hispanic ladies, two white ladies, and a very mixed, brown-skinned college student. They all had positive things to say about the city, but we sought them out. So, knowing it’s mostly white, go to the international markets or the more culturally aware events and you’ll enjoy the diversity of Appleton. Avoid those, and you won’t. ;-)

It's mainly swing. The adults are probably Conservatives, but don't forget that Appleton is a college town, and it's a Liberal Arts school. The students are very liberal, and they make sure their voices are heard. (I would know, I go there)
