There is one big problem about EUC. If a CPU and feedback-loop in EUC has one single glitch - you fall, if mosfet gets a short - you fall, if anything gets seriously wrong with the software or hardware there is virtually no other option. E-Scooter just stops, since active control is needed for the motor to keep moving so... it rarely keeps moving when anything serious is broken. It is much safer.

He also seemed to lump all e-scooter together by saying most of them have weak stems, bad breaks and lists a bunch of issues that literally affect all PEV's, including EUC's. My e-scooter has about 2000km on it and I've adjusted my brakes twice, not every 300km as he said and I get zero stem wobble.

I disagree, most CPUs are designed with redundancy in mind so one small glitch wouldn't cause an issue. But that being said all electronics are susceptible to electrical faults even E scooters

I have to agree. I got my vsett 10+ about 5 months before my EUC. I like the vsett and don't mind the maintenance. The big thing is after a while the wheel becomes a part of you. There is a connection that can not be explained to someone who does not ride one. There is nothing else like it. I still ride the vsett but i know i will never have the connection with it that i have with the wheel. For anyone on the fence i can say confidently if you want to learn how to ride a wheel you will. It may just take a little persistence but you CAN do it. Be safe and take it slow at first.

I agree with what you said about the scooters and the problems they come with. But each vehicle also gives you a different experience riding. I also enjoyed riding my Veteran Sherman and look forward to getting the new version next year. In the meantime, I'm enjoying my Kaabo Wolf King GT and my Kaabo Mantis king GT. Like picking the right tool for the job. In this case, like picking the experience for the mood. Scooter or EUC. I like riding from Malibu, California through Santa Monica beach and Venice beach and back on the bike path on the coastline. Hands free on the EUC is great when i ride. But when you have guest come over and they want to join you, it's easier to put them on a scooter to ride with you than if you had 2 EUC's Especially if they never rode an EUC before. There's a bigger learning curve for EUC's than scooters. I just want options when i want to ride. So, i have both.

One of the major reasons why I decided to learn EUC's over getting a e-scooter which required very little to no learning was the wheel size. I knew that the much larger wheel would inherently deal with road/path issues with much more security/reliability.

That all depends on belief in computation of that wheel balancing. If you cant trust the electronics, its over. My bad accidents (thank gosh I wore gear) all happened after software changes that suprised me. Granted it only affected me past 100 miles. Habbit is the worst enemy of humanity isnt it? I think wrong way switching products, expecting changes has insulated him from this reality.

I completely agree with you in regards to the off-roading. I believe the lifespan of any scooter goes way down if you go off road. I have almost 1000 km on my Varla eagle in 2.5 months ownership and kept to the road. For me the speed and thrill of taking over cars when there is a traffic jam is so fun. I have no loose bolts, no flat tire, no stem wobbles since you do not put to much stress on the stem while on the road. however, off-road there is no way not to abuse your stem which is why I keep to the road.

My very first PEV was a minimotors speedway5 scooter and I absolutely loved it for the first couple months and got bored quickly. Came across a Tishawn fahie euc video and the rest Is history. Been riding EUC over 2 years and love it more today than the first day I started. Its Unlike any sport or anything I've ever ridden. It's magical.

I have a Onewheel, EUC, and e-scooter.... they're all great. I often use the Onewheel for going to my parent's house in my neighborhood, the EUC at smaller parks, and the e-scooter on longer rides. Obviously a lot of people can't afford all 3 so they have to pick what's best for them and EUCs are a happy middleground.

As a scooter rider (since 2018), I have to agree with you on a few points, but not on all of them! Stem wobbles: Definitely a problem on some scooters, but it's mostly more a thing of adjusting. The stem of my Dualtron Achilleus was a lil bit wobbly and noisy (creaking sound) out of the box. I tightened the screws, used Loctite and greased the folding mechanism. Since then I've never had any problems with the stem again. Hands on handlebars: If you decide to ride a powerscooter (scooters in general), don't complain about having to hold the handlebars🤣! That's how you ride them 🤷‍♂! But I understand the argument that sometimes your hands get tired. I know the problem. On the other hand, you have less problems with feet fatigue, cause on a wide scooter deck, you have more options to find a comfortable stance that fits to you. Acceleration/Deceleration: I can understand that, but that too is more a matter of experience. Proper posture and weight distribution is very important when riding powerscooters. Especially on powerscooters with "aggressive" squarewave controllers like the Dualtrons etc., but once you get the hang of it and know how the physics behave, you no longer have a problem with pulling or pushing the stem too much. Quality issues: Oh c'mon! My wifes Inmotion V10F DIED after only 84 kilometers (fried mainboard) and most EUC's are just rubbish in terms of quality! But yes, when it comes to quality, some scooters out there are just garbage! In the end, you can be lucky or unlucky with anything. No matter what kind of PEV. Easy to hurt yourself: Never had any problems with that, but ehm ... ok!? 🤔 No fun when riding slow: Absolutely agree on that point! Powerscooters need to be ridden fast! Big and bulky: Compared to ESK8's, Onewheels and most EUC's? Yeah that's right, but compared to my mate's huge !!!45 kg!!! Veteran Sherman S, my Dualtron Achilleus isn't that big and bulky anymore! And compared to bikes, most scooters have a clear advantage in that regard. Limited capabilities: Absolutely disagree on that point! Powerscooters are definitely NOT as versatile as EUC's but that doesn't mean they aren't fun. They're fun in a different way. Personally, I love blasting around with my Dualtron, jumping off curbs, doing wheelies and stoppies, love the acceleration and the linear speed. I also ride powerful ESK8's and bikes (Super73), but the Dualtron is my personal favorite. In the end it's a personal thing and each type of PEV has it's pros and cons. If I want to skate and carve on asphalt, I take my Lacroix Nazare. If I want to cruise with my daughter, I take the Super73. If I just want to let loose, I take the Dualtron. Fire and forget! 🛴🔥 Maintenance: Yep! It's very important, but i don't see it as a disadvantage for scooters in general! Got close to 6000 kilometers on my daily commuter, a cheap chinese Tarsa T9 offroad scooter back from 2019, and NEVER had any technical problems with it till today and believe me... i beat the shit out of that thing! Still the first battery, first motor, first controller and even the first bearings are still fine! All I have to do is tighten the bolts from time to time, change the brake pads etc. That's it! Yeah and some flats but c'mon this can happen with any PEV and is usually not a problem. My Super73 ZX is much more fragile and need more time in terms of maintenance than my scooters. I can't say that scooters are more likely to break down than other types of PEV's. Alternatives: Any type of PEV is or can be an alternative. Imho a bike is NOT an alternative! Bigger, bulkier and f****g boring compared to powerscooters, but to each his own. It's not a secret that an EUC is for sure the most versatile PEV! They're awesome and my wife absolutely love to ride her V10F and is even considering to buy the new upcoming KS S19. Personally, I'm not that interested in self-balancing PEV's, nor do I trust them. I'll stay with the ESK8's and scooters! 🛹🛴 Bonus (water resistence): Is a problem on any type of PEV and cannot only be generalized for scooters. Welcome to Vancouver. Thank you for youtubing most of the thoughts in my head regarding power escooters in comparison to an EUC. Size , maintenance and portability were the main deciding factors in why I didn't invest in a large escooter and have gravitated ever so slowly into EUCs. I do like the etwow and other ultra portable scooters but have since been addicted to EUCs once I got good enough at riding them everywhere.

Agree. Im riding G30 for 3 years and 8000km ridden, and could not buy any powerfull scooter, because they were all jerky and unreliable, and Ive tried a lot of them. Looking to try P100SE. I learnt to ride EUC, and escooter has an advantages I like. 1. Precision of driving. On my G30 I could ride with a precision of centimeter. I didnt have the same feeling of precision on EUC or Bike, here the precision is in order of 5-10cm. 2. You could ride very slow on Escooter. 2km / hour is simple thing. On a bike or EUC 5km / hour is a minimum to retain balance. 3. With both above you could ride on a pavement with pedestrians. Control and low speed doesnt make you dangerous. Multiple time I had to ride behind elderly slow people, it is doable. Riding on a pavement i illegal, but only scooters seems to be accepteble by pedestrians as they are small, slow and precise. So with cites with a poor cyclist infrastructure and andgry drivers, scooter is the most convinient choise. 4. Stoping on a traffic light. On an EUC or Ebike you need to get of it. On an escooter you just put a leg down. On a Netherland style bikes with no bars you could put a leg down, but very few Ebikes has that type of frame. 5. Is not very common. But you could, with some ingenuity put a child seat on a scooter. And a scooter with a child seat is the only ridable that you could easily put in a trunk of car. Ebike is too big and requires external hanger, which weights 20 kg. Puting it on and off is no funny busines. And you cant put a child seat on EUC. So for simple family trips of 2 parents + 2 children, you just put scooters with child seats and you go. 6. Learning curve. When your wife is not a fan of micromobility, and has a lot of duties, there is no chance she will learn to ride and EUC. On a scooter it is very simple. 7. And a little bit pesky, but as a Segway user, a dont see any reliable EUC manufacturers. Inmotion, King song and the worst of all Begode are very simmilar with build quality to unreliable Zeroes, Vsetts and Dualtrons. Water rating is soso. If an Segway produced moden EUC, it might be a different story.

All great points. Especially the off road and can’t bringing it into stores. Just yesterday I went to a beer garden with a few friends, they had to park their e bikes and scooters outside. I was able to roll my V11 into the restaurant and leaned it against the back of my chair. No one ever noticed. Our waiter was caught by surprise by it when she finally noticed, had a good chat about what it was as well. However, one advantage with the scooter is passenger. It’s the only PEV that can take both me and my daughter on a 40 mile trip around the lake. But then again, she’s growing so quickly and soon she’ll be on her on EUC.

I don’t own a euc or one wheel. I do own many e-scooters and a few ebikes. I think all these devices fill a certain niche that fit particular needs. The practicality of the euc seem to be leaps ahead of the other e-vehicle’s as far as portability and ticking off the boxes of what the others can do with the exception of storage. I’m not fond of “wearing” a backpack or carrying items elsewhere on my person. I like that I can add a bag be it small or large on a scooter stem or bike. I also enjoy not having to gear up. If I owned a euc I believe I’d want to wear more protection due to the physics of a singular wheel & required faith that the balance technology won’t fail at 20+ mph.

I have an EUC, e-MTB & a reasonably quick (~60kph) e-scooter - I'd be reluctant to ride the scooter without good protective gear. Maybe for a slow e-scooter the gear isn't as important, but for the really quick ones you would be risking your life going as fast as a motorcycle with little wheels - the risk is just too high IMO. I definitely feel much safer on my e-MTB with the 27.5" wheels and stronger design & construction.

You can carry bags in your hands while riding an EUC if you prefer that over a backpack, although I use a backpack all the time when shopping and it works great for me.

I love your channel and the more I watch, the more I want to try riding an electric unicycle (very few of them here in Bulgaria)! Looks a lot of fun. But I've been enjoying my Vsett 9+ a lot, and maybe it's your experience with those scooters, but this one has had zero issues in 1,000+ miles, very little if any stem wobble, zero maintenance and overall super reliable and fun. One big advantage: I can ride with somebody, which is impossible on a EUC or even ebike. Not legal, but very useful to me. But I do agree that you cannot let go and have to always be holding on to it while riding. Anyway, fun video and appreciated hearing your story!

Yo, Chris, you're probably on point with all your points. And as far as I know, Adam thinks similarly. Two experienced e-riders probably correct in their direction of thought. I've personally started e-scootering right after these first Ninebots appeared on the street of Riga (Latvia) for rent, and that was like in 2017, I think. Then only last year I bought my first two e-scooters. And that was an amazing season of riding almost every single day to the beach with my wife on board, standing between me and the stem. So, I'd say e-scooter is just the most romantic kind of transport to take your beloved with you. That works really well when you're taller. So, you're hugging her and controlling the whole experience. Going 30-40 km/h on a hot day is just perfect. So, we rode all summer, then my Zero 10X analogy broke, leaving me with Joyor G1. That little Joyor got us through winter. We were actually riding it together even on ice, pretty insane and a lot of fun. But I gotta say that these scooters are just not very sturdy. Zero 10X has problems with battery and with the accelerator. I had to change a wheel-motor on Joyor. So, I finally tried EUC this summer, and it's a line, which after you cross there's no going back. ) Selling all my scooters. Currently waiting for Begode Master to arrive.

Some recommendations for the scenic trails you might enjoy: 1. Seymour Valley Trail: wide paved bike trails inside the forest and mountain. It has off-road bike trails interweave throughout it. 2. River Road around north west of Richmond. A nice long ocean scenic trail that brings you to a little fishing town with amazing food: Steveston. 3. Spirit Trail North Vancouver: another nice ocean scenic route that brings you to Lonsdale Quay Market for some nice harbour view and food. Have a nice stay 👋

My downstairs neighbor and I have been on the PEV journey together, after we both got Meepo Boards. Then I got an EUC and he has been through two scooters that have all had complications and is looking for something new. I didn't realize how low the qc was for those things. I always preferred the steering of a skateboard to scooter for the same reasons you mentioned too!

This is so true, For me to go to work and back it would not work at all. I really need the bigger tyre but then again not as big as an e-bike as I dont have a place to store an e-bike at work. We are busy converting a whole room for bikes and then I might use the e-bike more when its really muddy but otherwise the weapon of choice is the EUC. Awesome spot to ride. Enjoy

I agree 100%. You need to be athletic to ride an E Scooter or an EUC. But the E Scooter gives a false sense of security with the handlebars for people who shouldn’t be on them in the first place.

Thank you for the video Adam! I wholeheartedly agree with you. It is great to see you in North America. Hopefully this means you can make an occasional trip down to California. Northern and Southern California have very large PEV communities. I ride with BAESK8, Alienrides and Pevra in San Francisco. I used to be part of the power scooter group but have since transitioned to the EUC as my primary PEV. I had thousands upon thousands of miles on e-scooters. I had scooters in all the categories from ultra portable to Dualtron and Kaabo dual motor scooters. I also have owned a Onewheel XR and tried out e-skates but both of these have fundamental weaknesses that I couldn't overlook. I have also seen a LOT of ESK8 and power scooter riders transition to EUC over the last couple years. Our rides are basically EUC, Onyx and Sur-ron rides these days. I still have two ultra portable scooters (E-Twow GT and Fluidfreeride Mosquito). These are awesome sub-30lb scooters that have decent speed and range but still can be considered easily portable. I can still take them into stores and restaurants and can carry a few of them in the back of the car. I have sold or disposed of the power dual motor scooters. I just like to ride my EX.N just for fun with no particular place to go. I never felt that way with power scooters once the initial novelty wore off. Once I get my Master I will even feel more comfortable riding in San Francisco traffic at speed on the streets. I already do this on the EX.N but would prefer some suspension for the unseen pothole or road hazard.

Good points! My choise is a regular or ebike. I don't think euc would cut it here in the winter. It sometimes is very hard to stay upright with a bike. And if I stop riding my bike I no longer get any exercise.

I totally agree good sir. My electric addiction started with a Wowgo electric skateboard, then a fat tire E-bike, a Onewheel XR... But I stead of the usually jump to schooter like most do around here, I borrowed a Tesla T2 from a friend for a while to learn because it just seemed so practical and like the best bang for your buck for a car free commuter. And I never looked back. Like you said, E-scooters are just short of all the right marks in all the "wrong ways"...(sorry, couldn't help myself...lol) Rode my buddies Wolf king for a minute one day and aboot crapped myself due to that amazing rush of excelleration. But I never felt safe or in control of the machine. So I sold my Onewheel, can't ride the bike because I've broken and splintered my tailbone too many times, so the my lady get the bike. And I now have my boards and 3 EUCs. An RS high speed with Samsung cells, an older beat up dumpster find of an McM5 and because I loved learning on my friends Tesla T2, I bought my self a new more powerful Tesla T3. And now I am currently saving for #4, which will be my first suspension wheel in theory. And all thanks to that first video of yours I watched several years ago. 😉

The powerful ones are generally huge in size and hard to store in a small apartment. I got a ninebot which is small for scooters but still big, then I discovered EUCs. I want to keep my PEVs right next to my door ready to go, not in a shed or garage lol

I agree with you on many points, I just got an error 08 on my LS7 plus and you're right nearly all companies don't cover water dmg, unfortunately, I got caught in the rain and got soak with the scooter. I had the option to get the Wallke H6 ebike, but I fell for scooters. But due to the cost and pain of the issues they have, Ebikes is sounding so reasonable. For now, I dried the cabling ports and the scooter is back to running. Its the speed and power that draws me to scooters, and for me slow mode is still a chill thrill hehe

I haven't had my kaabo wolf warrior for long but the double stem seems pretty rigid. It's not perfect but it's the best I could find lol The throttle on the kaabo was wonky. The first 20% or throttle was basically 90% of the power available. It sucked, however the cruise control worked pretty good once you got it figured out. The only thing I liked about the scooter was for long range. 40 or 50 miles was easy and it'll fold up and fit in my SUV

Welcome to Canada, be sure to plan a trip to Kelowna its a 4 hour drive from Vancouver. You need to ride around Knox mountain I go there every day it's amazing playground for the euc.

This is a great and complete video over your points. I just got a new scooter but didn't want to spend much. I am still thinking about a EUC (because of your videos as well). I will leave the scooter as alternative mobility solution if I pull the trigger on an EUC. I got a NIU KQi 3 Max. Happy with it so far, but, your points are accurate. My front brake router came scratching from factory and even being well mechanic aware (fixing cars, bicycle, handy person) there is no way I can fix that.

Love your content but I'm not 100% in agreement with everything you mentioned. After 2 years with the DX2, no wobble flex in my stem with the two screws securing it. There is a little play in my Wolf Warrior 11 but not enough for safety concerns. And with both of those scooters, the quality is not top tier but they are pretty rugged compared to cheaper brands of scooters. Also, it's hard to definitively speak about quality whenever you're not really sure what riding conditions may have contributed to a scooter with a broken stem. I get tons of fun out of riding my scooter slow at times, and I have taken my scooter into stores here in the U.S. I agree, my scooters do take up space but it's convenient to have it inside to do my pre-ride maintenance. For each of your points, it seemed like your thoughts were more in line with your preferences and opinions, rather than a solid all-around assessment of eScooters.

I bought a cheap bicycle bell and used a strong epoxy to glue it on the back of my wrist guard. It works well on the bike trails to alert people that you’re passing.

I have one of each - e-MTB, Begode RS HS & Mantis Pro. The scooter is the quickest (though the EUC would be quicker if I was braver) and is super easy to ride. I think the scooter is a really good PEV, but I do find the EUC more fun and the e-MTB feels more safe with its 27.5" wheels. I wouldn't mind a new Nami scooter for the sheer performance, but if I was spending a bunch of money on another PEV it would probably be on a Sherman Max. I'm currently trying to decide whether to keep the scooter or sell it, I'm definitely keeping the e-MTB and I'd only sell the EUC if I bought a better one. Overall I think most of Adam's points in this video are valid.

I've had a FJL T113 since 2019. I only took it once on my 24 mile round trip route to work and back, but my kids take it to school every day, and when I want to go to a local brewery without worrying about my alcohol level if stopped by police, I take it. The only problem I've had is needing to tighten the brakes. One child got a concussion by riding under a tree, hitting his head on a branch without a helmet, but otherwise, few stupid errors.

You can strap a speaker and other things on a scooter that’s one cool benefit. I think I’m going to get both but start with a scooter because at least I know I can ride it and can still go anywhere with it. Also you can do wheelies on the kaabos like it’s a dirt bike. The stair climbing and riding on Euc is insane though.

I don’t think it’s super accurate opinion on e-scooter. I have 5000km on my scooter and I check nuts and bolts every 2 weeks. I’ve never had any issues. Also the more you ride the better you get at one hand riding, tight turns, and turning at high speeds. Same goes the EUC. Skills are enhanced with driver experience. Both are excellent.

I think you had that pretty much spot on. cut outs are a main worry for me which is why i would be concerned on buying the euc as at least with the escooter you have 2 wheels to freewheel / balance on.. but yes.. an ebike also does this and much safer! but yeah.. you seem to have got it nailed spot on

That's why i got an eskate over an escooter you can carve have more fun and take it inside stores and it's smaller and more portable,has enough range for me isn't overpriced and it might not be as comfortable but it's less maintenance and it's light.Downside is having a remote but better than having a stem snap which did happen on a scooter i bought and regretted because it's so plain compared to riding an eskate.

My scooter doesn't have stem wobble, it's more like a flexible stem. (Kingsong ks n10 Plus). And I enjoy having handlebars to rest my hands/arms on. We all have different likes and dislikes. 🙂 The Nami and other scooters with sinewave controllers are much more smooth and you can ride many of them at low speed. E bikes are interesting though. Surely safer, and you can extend range by pedaling. But I really enjoy my scooter. 👍 And nice vid.

Correct Direction? the opposite of Wrong Way should be Right Path don't you think? Lol.. I just started riding my first EUC because of you Adam. Been riding an electric scooter for a long time but it never felt satisfying to me. The tires blew twice, and then the battery short circuited, I just found e-scooters really hard to care for. But I switched mostly because I was ready to try something else. Having said that, e-scooters have a very low entry barrier because they are cheap and easy to pick up. I've also never had a fall on the E-scooter but have had countless (undignified) falls on the EUC. Oh the pain... ouch. E-scooters introduced me to the world of PEV which I am eternally grateful for. Although it is annoying that you have to have your hands on the stem at all times, you can also carry a lot more cargo on e-scooters (not a great deal more but enough to matter) compared to the EUC. Also, there's no need to gear up as heavily as the EUC when riding it. Overall, I think EUCs and E-scooters serve a different niche in the market. Not everybody is adventurous enough to try the EUC because of its steep learning curve. Most people just want an easy and cheap way to get around town hence they prefer the E-scooter or the E-bike.

My inokim OX has no stem wobble and I ride it from Brooklyn to Manhattan and back everyday. It’s a lot nicer of a ride than a kaboo or an Apollo.

I very quickly upgraded to a bigger e-scoot with broader and bigger tires. Although I have an EUC now (thanks Adam!) it's not easy to learn to ride on it whereas the big Kaabo Mantis Duo 10 V2 has a nicely reinforced stem and the bigger wheels and suspension means it's incredibly comfortable to ride even for me, who is out of shape. Although it's big, it does fit in shopping trolleys and many businesses are fine with me bringing it -- and how long until businesses start banning EUCs once they get more popular? :( I'm eager to learn the EUC, but I wouldn't give up my Mantis, so don't discount bigger e-scooters entirely if you're struggling to make a decision.

On an e-scooter you have to shift your weight to compensate, on an EUC the wheel compensates for your weight shifting. One requires two simultaneous actions, the other-well-almost zero.

On an escooter, your weight is dispersed between two wheels, rather than one. I feel this alone gives more stability - as well as using hands to hold it. More chances to react and adapt to different riding situations

If you don't use the stem for balancing/supporting your weight, but ride them like a skateboard, they don't really wobble tbh. But I agree with you, outside of a few exceptions (mainly NIU and Segway as of yet) most scooters don't have that good of a build quality (so does EUC however, only ebikes are up there). You shouldn't be leaning forwards however, you should be standing up but all your weight should be on your foots, not your arms and the stem. The speed wobble you get is because your brain isn't made to go at high speed like that, you get the same thing when doing downhill on a longboard or speeding on a motorcycle. You remove that with training.

Learn and become one with your PEV. My Nanrobot D6+ has zero stem issues, pretty solid. With the addition of my steering damper and proper riding etiquette wobbling is a non issue.

I'm really curious about EUC now thanks to this channel. I own a D6+ guess it classifies as a "power scooter" too 65km/h max speed, it's heavy af. And I agree with the fun aspect of scooter, there is only so much fun you can have on it :D after you had all the fun - it won't be as fun anymore as it's with many things in life. When I get an EUC then whenever I invite someone over to my place, we go on the ride and I kind of host it as I will provide the escooter for the other persons :P no way they they will know how to ride EUC - and at this point in time I don't know either.

There is one issue with EUC that isn't obvious to people who haven't used them and that is that they essentially go at a constant speed, that includes up hills or down hills, that makes for some minor issues when you ride with people using bikes or scooters as they struggle to keep up with you going up and then have to break to not outrun you going down.

I could never go back from an EUC. Even with just my little KS-14D, it's just so much quicker and maneuverable than any scooter or ebike i've crossed paths with. Sure it wont win any races in a straight line, but it's 1000x more fun being able to weave up and down off the roads and sidewalks instead of just riding in a straight line anyways. Looking forward to the upgrade soon. Also, I spent the whole video expecting someone on the bike path to start screaming at you about needing to go correct direction. Lots of dumb people in Canada with a stick up their butts about obeying traffic laws on bike paths for some reason.

Well, I really want to get an EUC, but damn, those things a really pricy (at my place) when I try to look at it, the price of euc is about 2x from the escooter.. But I still considering bought something for the last mile and first mile transportation to go to work

As long as you can learn it, the EUC is simply unbeatable for portability which means that your first/last mile will be a joy on a EUC. As a learning tip, never rely on fixed objects to learn with, they actually behave as a handicap to learning. One foot on, roll a little and hop with the other foot. Keep doing that until you are ready to bring the second foot onto the pedal. Mounting a EUC is everything in one go. You do a rolling mount, NOT a mount and roll.

That seems strange to me, bud... EUCs aren't much more expensive than escooters, in fact they're often better performance per dollar. Not saying you're lying, it might be very different wherever you live, but you might be looking at higher tier EUCs and comparing them to cheaper e-scooters? My first escooter sells for $1300AUD and has less effective range than my EUC that I got for $980.

I've been searching to buy an E scooter and the stem wobble/length/durability is like the #1 thing on my mind. I'm a very experienced kick scooter rider and you can't have problems with the stem, it's just a recipe for crashing, it shouldn't even be loose really. Which is why I'm going for the E-TWOW GT SE. That thing is basically my kick scooter frame but with a motor on it. You gotta think, the high powered scooters all have the gigantic frames, platforms, they weigh more than twice as much as the GT SE, it's not as easy to maneuver all that weight and you lose a lot of sidewalk agility. I knew I'd be taking sidewalks, the large frame scooters do not seem appealing for that at all, riding in the street is also a really bad option here, people drive too fast past the speed limit. I've heard about the regen breaking frying the controllers, makes me not even want to use it. Everything you said here is perfectly valid in my eyes. No way I'm maintaining hydraulic breaks and no way I'm attempting to take a giant scooter into a store.

I also had a Dualtron Thunder for 3 month. But the reglementation in austria says max 600 watt and max 25 kmh. Well thats way below the specs of the Dualtron. Friends of mine had the same scooter and were stopped by police.. they were protected by helmet, riding 25. The fact that the scooter can do 85kmh and has more than 600 watt caused them a fine of 2300 Euro. Thats why I sold it pretty fast. All the best and stay save my friend gruuuuzzzz

You can do that, but a cheaper one is saves you from scratching your expensive one during the learning phase. It's also quite useful to have a small EUC for errands as it's essentially only when taking longer tours that you need a larger and longer range wheel. But I can understand if you already have an escooter then having more then one EUC would seem redundant.

I've been riding EUC for almost 3 years as my main form of transportation. (MSP HT). I bought an e-scooter for my girlfriend because the learning curve for and EUC was too much for her and she's got a titanium hip so she's afraid of EUC. Well it turns out that she hardly rides the scooter anyway. The heat here in LA this summer has been brutal so I've been riding the scooter myself because I can ride is in shorts and sandals, with no helmet unlike being fully armored on the EUC. (I just keep is in 2nd gear and stay under 16 mph. I feel pretty safe actually on the sidewalks and bike paths). I've put over 700 miles on it and have had to replace the brakes twice, and just ordered a pair of new tires. So with the need to constantly tighten up screws and the overall maintenance of this thing, I'm actually thinking about selling it and getting her a small e-bike. I COMPLETELY agree with your assessment on e-scooters! They're Crap compared to the EUC! LOL! / If I could just figure out how to dress for the heat here on my EUC, I'd never ride anything else ever again. Summers Suck!

E scooters are the most practical for towing stuff in a wagon and for taking into a train or car. But for just going places light shopping, offroad, work etc. the euc is better. I have both, so i can do it all.

Where I'm living now, they don't allow EUCs at all (road or sidewalk), so my EUCs are in storage and I'm stuck using escooters.

I only have a kick-scooter, but I have to say - initially, before buying it, I though the ability to fold the scooter must be very handy, and I would only consider buying folding scooters because of that. Now, after years of using the kick scooter for commuting, I have to say - I only needed to fold it a few times during those years, and overall I think a non-folding scooter would have been a better choice. The folding mechanism is just extra work to tighten it every now and then, an extra point of failure (so far it hasn't failed me 'catastrophically', but there are signs of wear and tear), and an extra thing to clean regularly, or else you get so much mud and dirt and sand in the hinge and screws, that when you do need to fold it, you'll spend half an hour trying to get things 'unstuck'. When riding a bus or tram with the scooter, I find that having it unfolded is preferable, for example. And if it goes into a car trunk, I'll only fold it there's no way around it.

As for the sharp edges on scooters - well, one day I found a cut/hole in my leather shoe... I wasn't sure when or how it happened, but then I noticed that it perfectly matches the size and shape of the kickstand on my kick scooter... and its height (when folded) also suggests I might have accidentally kicked the kickstand at some point with enough force to cut deeply into the leather. Probably the only reason I didn't notice it then and there is that I often wear two pairs of hiking socks (with reinforced toes too), for extra foot comfort and protection, which is especially important on a kick scooter.

Personally I own four EUC ( EX.N C 30 - RS C 38 - KS 16 X and MSX ) and two electric scooter (ETWOW Monster and SPEEDWAY V) I take so much pleasure on my EUC that there is no question of it becoming a "tool" to go to work, So I only use my electric scooter for that. That’s my choice, because for me to go to work in EUC would spoil all the fun. So my EUC’s are less km a year, so I can enjoy the rest of the time much more, but that’s just my personal opinion and I still take a little fun on my telectric scooter, it’s just not the same. Afterwards, I am lucky to have both types of vehicles and if I had to own only one it would be a EUC and I will go to work by bike lol. Correct direction Chris? new life, new direction?! Cool

I'm 260 lbs. and my king gt is perfect no wobbles plenty of power and to give you a heads up you do not need to death grip the handlebars i agree to no push all your weight on the stem but that's no different than a car you're not supposed to put all your weight on the steering wheel bc over time that will cause issues.
