Romans 10:9 - One might say look at the Bible and not each and every one of the millions of different and contradictory interpretations of it. Protestants "look to the Bible" and contradict each other even on basic theology. That's not what Christ wanted, and plus, Bryan goes by the Bible. This one may be difficult for some to do but yes I did get into a debate with a Protestant once and it seems because I was a newbie I kind of didn't know what I was doing it kind of drove me away but then as this virus came I started remembering the three children of Fatima and also watching a lot of Catholic videos I think I was really hurt when the church was closed there's always been a great blessing even though I didn't quite understand now I'm glad I'm back but my suggestion is if the person is dear to you or you keep meeting this person choose a book that you believe answers their questions maybe this can be a form of arms giving during Lent or direct them to a good Catholic website Brett Petrie Scott Hahn just remember you yourself to keep reading the books this way when the arguments come you have the answers in front of your tongue I haven't really been that great at this but I just remember to show my joy one day yes I plan to have a big library with a whole bunch of Catholic books

What she said about Mary made my jaw drop and I audibly gasped. I come from a Protestant upbringing and I am so sad that so many people are missing out on a relationship with Mary. Did you read her comment? She said Mary touches her hand to Jesus. In Catholic speak, Mary prays for her and leads her right to Jesus. Mary always leads us to Jesus through her intercession.

We have read your comment. Mary is not dead. She's alive in heaven friend. Only in the Old Testament was it condemned because people died and were in the grave. The only way to talk to them was to do some evil magic where you would conjure up a spirit in a demonic way. But unless you are Jewish, you believe that Jesus died and rose and conquered sin and death. People in heaven are alive! They are perfected in Christ and powerful with His power.

I love this channel so much! I’m becoming Catholic, used to be Baptist, will be baptized this Easter. When truly most people do really realize our own royalty to be a Catholic is a privilege. We are true citizens of Gods Kingdom on earth. The whole complaint about praying to Mary and the Saints shows just how far removed Protestants are from historic Christians and the notions of sin and man’s relationship to God. When a sin is committed a severe injustice has occurred. An offense against God that needs serious redress. We need all the help we can get for this redress including praying to The Mother of God and The Saints to intercede on our behalf to address this recompense. But please go believe you don’t need to confess mortal sins to a priest, work the sacraments, and then enjoy listening to a pastor who went to Bible college and has no authority to interpret anything let alone dispense the sacraments. Where in the world does it say in the Bible by the way you can just go to Bible college, be allowed to carry the title of pastor, and preach/guide a flock of believers. That’s complete blasphemy. He did not create a loose affiliation of lay people to go around preaching different interpretations of scripture. He created one church that was the successor of the Apostles and guided by the Holy Spirit could interpret scripture, hand down discipline, and lead God’s new covenant of his new chosen people. Well, tell that to the Catholic Martyrs of China and Japan who were brought to Christ centuries ago before a protestant even set foot in one of those countries. Matteo Ricci translated the bible into Chinese in the 16th century as he worked in the Emperor's court. Then came a protestant named Robert Morrison who converted Chinese to Christ in the 19th. That did not put the jews on equal ground to Christ's Sacrifice on calvary. But it highlights the Jewish peoples role in God's Salvific plan for humanity. The term co redemtrix does the same to Mary. God is a gentleman. He did not violate Mary's free will by making her birth Christ. Mary agreed to it, thus, she had a subordinate but significant role in salvation. Its not even close to saying she deserves equal honor to God. Co redemtrix is not even a official title of Mary and I actually hope it never becomes one because of all the confusion it causes.

I'm a Protestant convert with a Catholic baptism when I was 3, now 66. Most of these I could have refuted when I was Presbyterian. The one thing that kept me away was over divorce, either Dad didn't understand the priest or I didn't understand how he told me at 7yo but I thought once you have a divorce, you were no longer welcome in the Catholic Church. So once I found that not to be true, I ran as fast as I could to the nearest Catholic Church. On the Call no man father, I saw a Protestant saying that on a Facebook page. I wanted to open my Verbum Bible software but couldn't find any Protestant commentaries, I think I hid them so I wouldn't be mislead. So I went to my old software to find the Protestant commentary on Matthew 23:9. It says basically what Catholics say, it's to show the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and it didn't say anything about we couldn't call a man father. The Devil did not say you will become more like God, and he did lie. He said you will not die. They did. He also said the will be like God (not more like God), and again he lied. Out of the whole universal (catholic) church, Rome split off from all the other bishops which now call themselves Orthodox, so it is the Roman Catholic. Thank you, Brian. I have always been Catholic, however, when I moved to Florida many referred to me as "satanic" as well. I compared these man-made religions to my Catholic faith by studying much. Your channel has also helped me to convince myself that the Catholic religion is far from being "satanic". Yes king Henry 8th of england was behind starting first protestant religion church of england in 16th century along with martin luther so he could divorce his older wife katherine for the young pretty ann bolyn. He then beheaded the others. Very christian. I was one of the Catholics who got wrapped up in the Protestant nonsense. What you said at the beginning summed it up perfectly (0:17). I went to Catholic school, so I was mainly a part of the church due to that; I wasn't practicing from the heart or faith. It wasn't until later that I truly started believing/practicing. When I went to the Protestant faith, it was for an "easier, softer way." I had a little resentment towards the Catholic faith for having it forced on me as a kid; little did I know it was one of the greatest gifts I've ever received. The Protestant "Catholic hating" reinforced my resolve and inevitably led me further away from God in the end. Years later, I am back in the Roman Catholic Church. The One True Church, founded by the One True God. Thanks for all of your videos. They've helped me a lot.

I first converted to the Catholic Church in 1978. Unfortunately I got involved with J.W.s for about 19yrs. Started to watch the Journey Home about a year before my reconversion is August 2014. A day after the Assumption of Our Lady. Started to do also research only the Early Church. My dear family in England never minded me becoming a Catholic. They were upset with me being a J. W. I have heard that many J Witnesses are ex Catholics, and think that the reason is that perhaps they were not very familiar with scripture, and when a J wit comes knocking at the door with their little red bible, quoting scripture in what is a very practised way , they can be very convincing to people, but what they don't tell you is that they have changed scripture to suit their errant philosophy, in which Jehovah's Witnesses believe that: God the Father (whose name is Jehovah) is "the only true God". As far as the crucifix is concerned, I watched an interview with a former Nazi SS soldier who recounted that when they invaded France, they were ordered to remove the corpus from every crucifix. They had no problem with crosses. They weren't ordered to destroy them. It was the depiction of Christ crucified that the Nazis hated. To me, that's a pretty solid recommendation for depicting Christ on the cross. (btw, the interviewed man, by that time elderly, had lived his post-war life as a religious brother in a monastery)

A really interesting parallel for understanding why we present Christ dead on the cross is that it references the bronze serpent. The story goes that Israel had complained against God in the wilderness, so God sent snakes to bite them as punishment and many were dying. Moses was told to put a bronze serpent on a pole and place it so that when people look at it, they can be saved from the snake bites. They put up a snake to save them from snakes. In the same way, the cross, and particularly the broken body of Jesus, is a symbol of our sins. Obviously, it is inaccurate to refer to the saints in heaven as DEAD people because they LIVE in the presence of God (their physical BODIES may be dead here on earth but their SOULS are consciously ALIVE in heaven - Revelation 6: 9 - 11). I have always wondered: why is it that when Catholics ask the saints IN HEAVEN to pray for us, you accuse Catholics of PRAYING TO the saints in heaven. This is fatally wrong as not only does this go against what the scriptures teach but it is deceitful and a false unholy perversion of the scriptures. Proponents of OSAS use any of the following verses to support their claims: Jonah 3:10 (KJV 1611) And God saw their workes, that they turned from their euill way, and God repented of the euill that hee had sayd, that he would doe vnto them, and he did it not. Genesis 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieued him at his heart. As mentioned in the guide to the KJV bible the word "Repent" is a word that can be taken out of context. This is a prime example of the flaw in the doctrine that these extremists perpetuate because they claim that the word "Repent" means a change of mind however further observations in the KJV bible show otherwise and given that the translators were not actually fluent in the languages of the manuscripts that were used in the making of the King James Version this therefore arises a further problem in terms of the meaning of the word. What does Repentance mean? Repentance is derived from the Greek word "Menatoo" which means to ask for forgiveness. Proponents of OSAS say that this Greek translation means to have a change of mind. What does Repentance mean in the KJV bible? To look for the biblical definition of the word Repentance in the King James Bible we have to find it being observed within the bible. For Example, a constant verse I am given when I am dealing with the KJV only sect that promote this heathen doctrine is the verse Jonah 3:10 however if we look in the book of Jonah we can find that the people of Nineveh repented when the King of Nineveh declared upon his city a fast for the people and had asked the people to wear sackcloth to demonstrate sorrow for the wicked deeds that they had done. Then God had changed his mind and decided not to destroy the wicked city so while in this instance, repentance can mean a change of mind we have to find the biblical meaning of repentance. We can find more examples of biblical repentance in the King James Bible in the book of Ezekiel where God calls upon Israel to turn from their evil ways such as Idolatry and other abominations. This therefore demonstrates what the biblical meaning of repentance is. Christ also makes this emphasis clear when he states in the following verses: Mark 2:17 (KJV 1611) "When Iesus heard it, he saith vnto them, They that are whole, haue no need of the Physition, but they that are sicke: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Other books in the new testament make this emphasis clear in verses such as Mark 1:15 which states: "And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdome of God is at hand: repent ye, and beleeue the Gospell." Matthew 9:13 (KJV 1611) "But goe ye and learne what that meaneth, I will haue mercy and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance." Matthew (KJV 1611) "Woe unto thee Chorazin, Woe unto thee Bethsaida: for if the mightie workes which are done in you, had bene done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in Sackcloth and ashes." You see if the illogical doctrine known as OSAS were to apply here then Jesus would not be condemning the cities for their wicked actions and saying that if Tyre and Sidon had done the actions of Chorazin and Bethsaida then they would have repented. Luke 13:3 (KJV 1611) I tell you, Nay: but except yee repent, ye shall all likewise perish. Luke 15:10 (KJV 1611) Likewise I say vnto you, there is ioy in the presence of the Angels of God, ouer one sinner that repenteth. The Book of Revelation's stance on this matter: And just if you thought that those books were enough then the book of Revelation is the biggest book in the bible which makes it clear that if you do not repent of your sins you will go to hell. The Book of Revelation foretells those who will be sentenced to burn in eternity are those who have not repented of their sins and they are those who have not asked God for forgiveness. While there are books in the new testament that do place an emphasis on repentance, none could place an even further emphasis on asking God for forgiveness than revelation itself. The Book of revelation foretells of the plagues that occur to those who do not ask God for forgiveness and who continue to commit sin and evilness. The Book of Revelation places a huge emphasis on the need for repentance and the warnings to humanity who have not repented are made clear all throughout the book of revelation. The most obvious reference to what will happen is found in Rev 21:8 which states: "But the fearefull, and vnbeleeuing, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers (Fornicators), and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all lyars, shall haue their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." A reminder that these verses are from the 1611 Publication of the King James Version However there are other verses in the Book of Revelation which also make this emphasis and they are as follows: Rev 9:20-21: And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues, yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship deuils, and idoles of golde, and siluer, and brasse, and stone, and of wood, which neither can see, nor heare, nor walke:Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. Rev 16:9:“And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the Name of God, which hath power ouer these plagues: and they repented not, to giue him glory. (He does know what vain means, right?) This is the verse protestants mean when they say we should avoid "vain repetition": Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Matthew 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. It seems like you need to understand what repetitive prayer is and what Christ condemns. He certainly did not condemn repetitive prayer but only _vain_ repetition or heaping up empty phrases "like the pagans." You need to understand the whole verse. As a cradle Catholic, I cannot imagine myself downgrading to Protestantism or Born-Again. If I were to question my faith, as I was trained to do in my Catholic schools from nursery to post-grad, I will move laterally. Either I will not believe in the existence of God fully, like the real Atheist (not the trendy ones who just wants to be in), or move to Buddhism or Islam or Hinduism. But there's really no reason for me to leave the Catholic Church because it's only here that I am saved. Coming from a so-called poor country, salvation has always been in Jesus in the Church specifically during the Holy Eucharist.
