My only regret about this was that they couldn't fit more old characters into it - monsters like Pudgy Pig, Knasty Knight, and King Sphinx might have been good additions.

There hasn't been a new series since last year with Cosmic Fury, this was the first year other than 2010 that had no brand new series. 3:40 the battle against Chunky Chicken and Turkeyjerk is interesting since while they were both MMPR monsters, they never crossed paths since 1 was Season 1, the other was Season 2 and if I recall correctly they chose those 2 since Turkeyjerk reuses the same Chunky Chicken suit so I think they did that as an in-joke to Power Rangers' habit of recycling suits.

My older son grew up loving the original MMPR, can't wait for him to come home from his graduate studies for the Christmas holiday and we can play this co-op on the PS5. (I'm another GenX gamer who started with an original heavy sixer back when I was a kid.)

I'll pick up a physical copy when available, looks like fun and i grew up with the 90's MMPR. And the new beat em up boom has been great, Fight n Rage and River City Girls are a big highlight for me. But i would like to see some more in depth beat em ups, like Guardian Heroes, Odin Sphere, Dragon's Crown, etc. I like having a really solid beat em up base game, but with quests and missions, the Vanillaware games have the cooking which is surprisingly fun. Just stuff to make the replayability more than getting the best score. Multiple story paths and dialog choices and all that

Great review. I loved M.A.S.K. too as a kid. That was cool but I'd love a James Bond Jr. beat 'em up, or even like a Batman or Superman one like the ones released in the mid-90s. They were cool.

I was kinda into MMPR back in the day, it gave me huge voltron vibes with the dinosaurs and such that combined to become one big giant robot. so color me excited for this one! although I find the lack of a super joy-style move as you described weird, but hopefully it won't affect the game too much. neat to see all the various game modes and those unlockable mini arcade games. I'm a bit behind on digital eclipse releases (like I still have to get tetris) but will absolutely make it a point to pick this one up!!

That karate chop mini game reminds me of test your might from Mortal Kombat. Glad you had a fun time with rewind, I’m gonna pick it up at some point, when who knows? We’ve had no new power Rangers TV show this year, right now Hasbro doesn’t know what it wants to do with the franchise but that’s just another conversation

I’m about 50% through the game & like it a lot overall. My biggest critique is that each character only has 1 special move. The variety of other non beat em up modes kinda makes up for it I suppose.

I wish we’d get the Simpsons arcade spiritual sequel next. The Simpsons is long overdue for another video game for over a decade. Either a Hit & Run Refuelled (Remastered) or a sequel to that game or a Simpsons Game remaster another Simpsons beat ‘em up like what I hope for someday. Turtles got it, Power Rangers now got it and I hope the Simpsons are next.

As for if there's a currently running powr rangers show the brand is basically dead now. Hasbro recently sold off all of the suits and cancelled all projects for it

I do like that everyone isnt a reskin of eachother. they all have different animations of stance and such. Zach sticks out the best of em all. TMNT was good and had a lot of stages. GI Joe....Oooof. kinda feels like a mess. i played it for like 10 mins and was like WTF. Ill probably get this too. Comes out tomorrow? or is it out now? Thought the 10th was the release. NOW....as for what you said, A Heman one would be killer, BUT it better have like 10 or more selectable characters, and FISTO needs to be the first unlockable LOL. But there is MORE we need. Voltron, Saint Seiya, and if you look around this is someone working on a SILVERHAWKS Beat em up. They just showed it off on a retro game fan page on facebook.

I'm personally so sick of this specific team of Rangers. Theres so many other teams of Tokusatsu/ Super Sentai/ Ranger Teams other than Mighty Morphin. You'd think they'd at least give the teams from the early 2000's some of that nostalgia spotlight. But no, they keep going back to this specific team again and again and I'm tired. But it looks like a decent time gameplay wise so I might pick it up.

offline will be the maximum which I believe is 5 but last I heard they were having issues with some online play so where it launches with online play, you'll only be able to play with 1 other person

Looked fun, was excited for this game but after trying to play, it’s very hard even if it’s set on easy. You HAVE to have more than one person playing and even that’s still really difficult with ppl who don’t play beat em up games that often if at all. With that said, I do not love this game, it’s just meh,

Yeah I was a senior in high school when Power Rangers came out. Thought was beyond silly and a Voltron rip off. I've ignored the games over the years just like I do with franchise games only to find out there are some that are actually good.
