Clockwork Aquario is a cancelled game from 1992 that was developed by Westone, the team behind the Wonder Boy games. It was finished off recently by some of the original team members too.

Here's just 10 of the retro games I have on the Switch. > Loop Hero (I've been putting a lot of hours into it, and It is lots of fun, but it does have a couple bugs where the game starts to chug when you have too many allies, and the game straight up crashes if you play a village, but only when a resulting bandit camp pops up adjacent to a treasury) > The Messenger and Cyber Shadow (two adventure action platformers with excellent music where you get to explore cool environments as a ninja, and you gain cool stuff along the way) > Axiom Verge and Axiom Verge 2 (two sci-fi adventure action platformers also with excellent music where you get to explore and uncover the mystery of a strange alternate dimension) > Alwa's Awakening and Alwa's Legacy (two fantasy adventure action platformers with even more excellent music where you explore very much retro inspired environments in order to liberate the lands from an oppressive immortal villain) (Very strong Zelda 2 and old-school Castlevania vibes, taking cues on how to improve on the formulas those games left behind, at least to some extent) > Death Road to Canada (part Oregon Trail, part zombie survival beat-em-up, all wacky and silly, this comedic gem allows you to bring friends along for the ride for more mayhem) > Battle Axe (a fantasy action top-down beat-em-up/shooter featuring Mega Man composer Manami Matsumae as a guest composer, bring a friend to help liberate the lands from the clutches of a evil sorceress using daggers, a cannon, and even your own beard!) > Blazing Chrome (a very good Brazil-developed Contra-inspired action platformer shooter with very cool retro visuals)

I really wanted to get my hands on a physical PS4 copy of Clockwork Aquario. But, by the time I had the money to buy a copy from Strictly Limited, they were all sold out. Maybe somebody will sell a copy on eBay at some point. Aegean looks pretty cool too.

My son and I just burned through monsterboy. Holy smokes, that was a perfect old school game where they took the wonder boy concept and took it to extremes. there was about 40 hours of wonderful content there. one of the best for the switch

my understanding was clockwork aquario was gonna be an arcade game back in the late 90s but got cancelled during development? it's apparently westone (the wonderboy people) and they brought back some of the original devs to finish up the game and release it on Switch! demolition crew does have that retro nintendo vibe it'll definitely go on my list to get, as well as gearshifters! pretty sure I have Gynoug (Ji-now-g) on my list already there's a few of those retro genesis ports that came out on Switch that I'm definitely looking to pick up.
@Talldude19803 жыл бұрын
Been playing Ratchet And Clank: Rift Apart & Guardians Of The Galaxy.
Based on the Japanese spelling, Gynoug is pronounced "jih-noag" (first syllable sounds like the first two letters of "Jim", and the second syllable rhymes with "rogue").

At least half of these smell like cell phone games, however there are some great games in here. The shmup that I can’t pronounce, the first two games and the spy hunter game. All great stuff. I assume you got code for most, if not all of these. Don’t bother with the cell phone stuff John. Please. ;)

Why do I feel like I’m going to see those tshirts on some “Save the kids hunger” commercial in a 3rd world country . Like how you see the “World Champs” sports tshirts but it was the losing team who lost the championship.

Excited to get Clockwork Aquario from SRG in the mail (on it’s way!). I’m not a super huge fan of retro-inspired games, especially when a non-Japanese developed game tries to have a Japanese flavor. CA is a lost arcade game brought out from the depths…very exciting!
