That's why Jake the Snake is the scariest. His promos are still scary when you see them as an adult. He just came across as a very dangerous man.

Boogeyman really only scared me with his entrance, thats about it. The idea that WWE hired the Boogeyman which meant he wouldn't be in my closet so I was kinda relieved.

@@Iz_El_BeastBoy Funny story actually. I remember looking at the Boogeyman on a TV event like you and straight not even wanting to look at him and legit couldn't sleep that night. To remind you, IT WAS A TELEVISED EVENT THAT I WAS WATCHING ON MY TV. HE WASN'T EVEN INTERACTING WITH ME AT ALL.

When I watched WWE when he was still with WWE I wasn't afraid of him I was probably around 8-9 maybe a bit younger than that but I wasn't afraid of Boogyman even his intro.

I didn't find him scary, I bloody loved him BUT....I won't lie, I was a weird kid that wore a hell of a lot of black and had a ton of piercings.....still do to be fair but that's not the point lol

How the heck did Rellik and Black Reign not make the list? Rellik was just...I don't know what the fuck he was. And Dustin Rhodes, at the lowest point in his life both physically and mentally, playing essentially Golddust as a horror villain wasn't scary, unless you count sympathetically cringing at watching one of your favorite superstars unraveling at the seems as scary. It was sad more than anything. TNA had Abyss. They had Father James Mitchell. They had Judas Messias. They had Awesome Kong for a different kind of horror. They didn't need those two.

I think the thing about the boogeyman not being scary is as much because he was a face as anything. As a kid I was scared of Undertaker and Kane as heels, but had absolutely no problem cheering them when they were faces

I still remember my first time seeing both... But I most fondly remember Abadon's return... Shida had just beaten Anna Jay to retain. Shida walks up the stairs and suddenly the chimes ring. I freaked out in all the right ways

When I was 5, around 82 or 83, we went backstage at a Championship Wrestling from Florida. We met some of the faces but I looked into the heels dressing room. Kevin Sullivan stood up, looked at me & said "I hate kids!". It scared the ever living shit out of me

Xanta Klaus always sounded like some kind of antidepressant to me. I never thought The Undertaker was scary. Compelling? Yep. Sexy? Double yep. Scary? No. The one wrestler that looked scary to me? Leatherface in Japan. I mean you've got a huge masked guy with a chainsaw shooting out sparks. You cannot blame the fans for running like crazy.

Abadon is the first really genuinely scary looking one I can remember. Even when I was growing up in blissful ignorance of kayfabe during the Nitro era, I can't remember ever being as unnerved by a character as I am by her.

First wrestler that scared the crap outta me was Jake the Snake Roberts. I had nightmares about what he did to George Sells at Wrestlemania 2. After him it was probably Undertaker, but I have to admit, I was terrified every time I watched wrestling that I would be subjected to a Bushwhackers match.

You drop this vid on my birthday...and a young me was TERRIFIED by Giant Gonzalez. I was DONE with wrestling after he (in my mind) killed the Undertaker at the Royal Rumble. I was at my cousin's house and I immediately called my dad to pick me up. There was a 17 foot Bigfoot looking man on tv that just killed the Undertaker. I was absolutely done.

As a wrestling fan from the age of 7, I can remember wanting Jim Helwig (Ultimate Warrior) to be the Black Scorpion. But as a teenager, I didn't always see the turd in the punchbowl that was WCW in the 90's. So when it was Flair....sigh. Sorry Al Perez.

This will sound so stupid to say but the first wrestler that scared me was Triple H I was 9 years old watching SummerSlam 2002 with my grandma. I was too young to understand wrestling and kayfabe, so I was legitimately horrified when Triple H struck Shawn Michaels with the sledgehammer

Me being Australian and this being a small world I have a friend who Is actually related to Nathan Jones. He told me about how he was doing this movie or play.. I forgot about what it was called tho as I had that conversation about 6 years ago now. I hope he is doing well 😊

When you were a younger kid, the Boogeyman horrified you. When you’re older, not so much. Boogeyman depends on the age of the fan.
