And Dustin Rhodes, at the lowest point in his life both physically and mentally, playing essentially Golddust as a horror villain wasn't scary, unless you count sympathetically cringing at watching one of your favorite superstars unraveling at the seems as scary. It was sad more than anything. TNA had Abyss. They had Father James Mitchell. They had Judas Messias. They had Awesome Kong for a different kind of horror. They didn't need those two.
