You actually do get a pretty good reward for the secret room in Control - The Aerobics personal mod, it restores health every time you dodge, which can be handy.

I loved the secret areas in Serious Sam The first and Second encounter, specifically the secret areas that defied gravity, walking on the walls or ceilings all in one room.

For cyberpunk, the only hint for changing time to 4am is a promotional song called 4 am by grimes that is in the game and plays on the radio. Not sure of the connection though

Batman Arkham Asylum the secret room in the warden's office. Nobody knew it existed until the devs mentioned it SIX months later lol. It gives insight into what the warden wants to do in the future leading to Arkham city

Nobody does secret areas like Fromsoft. It's not even the fact that they have a lot of them but the fact that literally some of their best areas are behind like 2 Illusionary walls or some place you'd never expect is just crazy

I remember in blood borne there was a secret area you were taken to if you got killed by one of the monsters that have those sand bags . You wake up in a prison , really high level area it was pretty cool

Rush2049 an old school arcade racer has a secret part of a map that was a huge crazy freestyle area. Man I loved that racing game. They were unique by allowing you to use wings to control the pitch and angle of your car while in the air allowing mad crazy stunt combos.

Along the same lines of the Arkham City glitch area, in Skate 2 you could use a launch glitch to get outside of walls and if you did this on the DLC parks that were brought over from the original Skate you could actually skate around large chunks of the original map albeit it with some wonky collision detection

whoever first figured out the clock thing in control is a genius for real, i never had a clue, i found the clock room by mistake but nothing in that room really gives you clues on how to do the clock puzzle, just a completely crazy puzzle

Control's is interestin because you literally must go out of the game to find the solution and even if you find the code (even with some help) and you are proud of yourself, you find out that this was nothing against all the other things that ae out there (I only say ARG). This game was so a litlle my access point to this kind of secret code, hidden lore, etc.

CS 1.6 had a level that started out in the leg of an oilrig when I was 14. That got removed.... Wasn't realistic at all... but It disappeared.. Kept looking for it when I started working offshore... Old school. Everquest, Befallen zone, there is a secret room with cat pictures lining the walls. When you zone in, stick your face in the wall to the left and you'll see the dev / guide room lined with cat pics.

Out of bounds areas are kinda ridiculous, especially with how big game installs are getting these days. On PC it's not so bad, I can just add hard drives as I please, but for people on consoles with less than 1tb of install space it's stupid that devs just leave a bunch of crap laying around that takes up space but is completely useless and shouldn't be accessible.
