Lightening experiments... The time machine. Each part of the time machine is named after a scientist in the field of lightening. The time machine utilizes the Franklin Leyden jars . I could name the other scientists parts ... but I won’t ..

I’m so glad this showed his schedule as aspirational and not something he achieved perfectly every day. So many of these productivity posts (especially of historical figures) fail to acknowledge one of the most important factors for “success” - the fact that they often have other people taking care of the domestic chores for them. That definitely affects what they were allowed to focus on.

When you have all the time in the world at your fingertip, why not? even for modern common folk, this would be tediously difficult and somewhat impossible to commit to, but with every bit of knowledge learnt I'll take away from this and use a few of these virtues. thanks for the upload.

Although I appreciate this as an idea, it is a very dated option, and if he struggled, a modern person is going to struggle a whole lot more. He had people that prepared his food, washed his clothes, and took care of his domestic options. Even without a tv and kids, his routine would be very hard to keep to. Add a 9 to 5, commuting, and exercise, and when do you fit in the learning block? Don’t get me wrong, I love the idea, but when something fails to include basic domesticity, it can’t really even be adjusted.

@talking_to_trees
@talking_to_trees Жыл бұрын
@@luciferz6405 It's not a limit, it is an understanding that this particular routine is bullshit. Can we figure it out? Sure. But you can't expect an 18th century white male to have an answer. Not unless you are a 21st person with 18th century white male thinking, in which case you can keep this routine and everyone around you will be living only to make sure that you can keep this routine. I have made a fantastic life and a routine that includes a family, a business, a social life, quiet time, and constant learning. It looks nothing like this. And this is all that I am saying. There are no limits, but make sure that when you say this routine works, it also has to work for the people you are building a life with.

Not sure how many old Ben actually followed at a time given some of his quotes. That is a very lofty standard for a human though. Certainly to be admired.

Interestingly the 13th virtue was added at the behest of some of his friends - namely protestants who took issue with pride - and he somewhat begrudgingly added the virtue.

Order. I got none of that. Or very little. There are a few dozen things that "have their place" in my life but most everything else is in a PILE OF ideas and dirty laundry and saved up things to fix. I'll back up and give it another run. I do love when I find the right place for things--and have some framework of order for those things. Just that when everyhing is amiss/ajar/underfoot/fallingover it's a bit overwhelming. This is commonplace in folks with my wiring. But we try. Thanks.
