For treating every customer as a potential thief, video taping our every move and trying to check our carts and receipts when we leave , for supporting foreign sweat shops, for a multibillionaire family paying their workers next to minimum wage with no unions allowed, is the reason why I no longer go there. It seems that there was no fact checking done before the production of this video. As a Walmart employee I can tell you that they run background checks with 100% certainty, and have done so for at least the last 12 years. I started with Walmart in 2007 and was given a background check. I left in 2011 and tried to return later that year but my background check didn't clear because my former manager had me skip over the criminal history section during the interview because she didn't know that in 2005 I was arrested for assault (for defending my mom from her ex who had just punched her in the back) and the only reason I failed was because it looked like I was trying to hide it even though i divulged that information in 2007 when I was hired the first time. I was later rehired in 2013.

As a former WM manager, they do the standard criminal background checks for their hiring process. As for background checks as far as sexual harassment is concerned, if a potential employee was fired from a previous job due to such allegations its doubtful that person would list that job as a reference or on their employment history which means that Walmart wouldn't know about it unless what this person did went public or was common knowledge. If you are applying for an entry level position (which is often part-time) they usually don't bother with checking job references and will hire based on criminal background check, how you conduct yourself during your interview, and whether or not you have a pulse. This is a very standard hiring practice among low-end retail/service jobs. People are not going to advertise the fact that they are dogs/pigs when they're trying to get a job and its often not clear at all which people you hire will end up being sexual harassment offenders. This is a problem not just at Walmart but at all companies that employ humans lol

If your buying vitamins at Wal-Mart read the ingredients vs another brand to determine if taking the supplement is beneficial. I also have a vitamin D deficiency and my doctor writes a subscription for it. I was currently taking vitamin D twice a day so I was surprised after my blood work showed depleted levels. After I got the prescription it's 5000 iu vs 1000 iu I was buying from the shelf. Also you take vitamin D first thing in the morning after eating a protein or with milk so your body absorbs it. If you can take vitamin D alone and later in the day take your other medicine or supplements.

As far as the clearance section for the store it is very clearly marked with those big yellow clearance signs as shown in the video. You can also ask any associate and they can show you. The best clearance deals will be right in front of you as you walk through a department though. When they set new modulars in an area, they add new items and phase out some to make room. They put clearance price stickers and bright yellow clearance flags in place of the normal shelf tag. You get huge markdowns as they just need to free up the space. When shopping for groceries or other consumables look for these great deals. A lot of departments have a set space in their department for clearance items also ask or look around the department . Also if you want killer deals on candy , go at 12 am as holidays end and they are officially past Easter , Halloween or whatever. The holiday candy is 50 percent off at that point. If anything makes it a couple days past then it goes to 75 percent off.

Could make several comments, but will just hit the ones I remember best: I do not shop regularly at Wal-Mart but have visited more often lately. I did not know there was a Clearance section until I found it in 1 store by accident. (BTW, Target stores have 1 also, and they "hide" it, too). That said, I have only found it in a few of the stores and it is not very big. The idea that online prices are different from store prices would only make sense if the items online were NOT in stores and only available for shipping to your home. The way it is shown in this video it obviously adds yet another (UNNECESSARY) time consuming layer/holdup to the process at the cashier. Finally, it is nice to know that if I ever wanted to buy food at Wal-Mart (I only buy food products there that I can't get anywhere else) that I have another reason to shop early. I usually shop there just after opening because the store is less crowded.

I thought this was going to be a video about getting some deals. As I watched I just saw one falsehood after another. The generic over the counter supplements are cheaper due to not having to have the name brand. Most are packaged in the same places as the name brands. Different labels are inserted. Second you have to by law run a background check. Not one company I ever worked for and I did a lot of hiring myself intentionally didn’t run background checks. You have to check for citizenship and felonies. Walmart’s ass would be in a sling if they didn’t. The cheap furniture for the cheap price sums up what you are stating. If I get a 10 dollar lamp I don’t expect it to last for 50 years. I could keep going and going. Hey I get a lot of people don’t like Walmart. At least bring facts. I mean you have to show all ingredients and values in everything on the packaging? You can’t sell fictional ingredients? There would be far more then a KZbin channel talking about that. With as many people that headhunt the destruction of Walmart. This would be big CNN stuff this is not a 3rd world country. There are strict regulations on people knowing what they are consuming. The whole claim of no background checks in regards to the firearms in sporting goods is complete BS. Anyone who handles the sales of the firearms themselves has to pass a Federal Firearms License background check and be licensed in order to do so. Just because they do no do a background check on other employees, like those stocking shelves, does not mean there isn't one done on those dealing with the firearms. Got to love the anti-firearms bias and lack of actual knowledge in regards to them showing through here.

One tip: if you see a yellow and white sticker label on an item and the price is lower on that label then the shelf label, you can get that item for the lowest price shown. Usually bulky items have this sticker due to storing it in the bins in the back. :)

They raised their prices in the frozen section because I said something about the prices not matching, now all of a sudden what I used to buy everyday is now double the price and ive noticed that with alot of other items. They also raise prices a dollar and then place a roll back sign for twenty cents.

Well in my affluent area of Illinois most of the workers are Women, many elderly and also the handicapped physically; mentally. They are all worthy of the duty and do it well. I think Walmart does a decent job of hiring from all aspects of life. Do they hire experts no but none of them do including but not limited to Costco. I don't see Walmart hiding things, it's all in plain site. I can also imagine where the particular store in located in the U.S. or other. I was born missing half my left arm and working cleaning I had a hard time doing my job (emptying the bottle boxes from the return machines, the squeegee machine ect.) due to my arm. I asked if I could be switched to a different position and they told me no after I explained my issue. So I quit. Later though I found out I could have talked to the day manager (I worked night shift) and they would have. But no one told me. They even talked about how horrible of a job I did when the person who trained me didn’t even do a good job either. I have a new job thats better than that one.

I worked for WalMart for a while, but would not work for them ever again. They do not give a shit about their employees at all. If you work for WalMart and have a disability they do not provide reasonable accommodation, I am diabetic and they refused to let me go to the restroom to relieve myself and I was told I would have to hold it until my next break which was 1 hour and 20 minutes away, also I have back issues and they still made me stand on my feet for an entire shift even though I was in pain. So Fuck WalMart, because profit is more important than people.

I admit I've never worked for Wal Mart and I'm certain they have their short comings as do all companies, but this video sounds like someone has spent a lot of money to discredit this retail giant. I personally enjoy shopping at Wal Mart but I also spend my money at several other retailers. Much of this depends on what I want or need and the quality I'm will be satisfied with. Our local Wal Marts have never failed to have very nice and helpful associates and we all benefit with this. Yes, this video almost sounds as if someone is jealous of Wal Mart. And let's remember, they wouldn't still be in business or making as much as they do if they weren't doing something right !

Question asked: How would you feel if a convicted felon was working the gun section in Wal-mart? Answer: Depends on the felony. To put it bluntly, this question is misleading and discriminatory. As anyone that has been convicted of a crime and had to spend time in prison will tell you. once convicted you get caught in a catch 22. In many cases conditions of release or parole is that out get and keep a job. When appyling for almost any job the question asked or looked up is "Have you been convictied of a Felony?" like your misleading question, if yes, that person is turned away then and there. This is fine if that felony is for murder, theft, or child abuse. However to an employer or to the one doing the back ground check felonies such as tax evasion, failure to pay child support, felony drunk driving, felony drug use, It does not matter what that felony was for a felony is a felony and out the door they go. Then there is the grey areas. Imagine being convicted of not paying child support. Once getting out of prison then trying to get an honest job so you can comply with the courts and pay your child support after release. I ask you would you want THAT felon working at the gun department at Wal-mart? In this case that employee would be quitw motivated in keeping that job and doing his best to keep it. The harsh truth is ex-cons no matter the crime, despite paying for their crimes, are more likely to re-offend simply because no one would want a "felon" working in the gun department of wal-mart. I'm not saying the question should not be asked, I'm just saying that what should be asked by you is "Would you want a violent felon working in the gun department at Wal-mart?" and the second question on applications should be "What was the felony for?" and hire or pass on the answer to that question instead.

Almost a year I quit. The same store my husband and I was looking at the black friday products. My husband walked off to look at something from the ad. I was with the cart, reading the ad, minding my own business, my husband saw the store director walking towards me. My husband came by my side, the director saw this and walked the other way. Today I still will not go to that walmart unless my husband is with me.
