Are you kidding? Treasure Planet was amazing and would have been spectacular if it hadn't been screwed over by the people advertising it. Not only was it released during the holidays, which really messed up the tone of a movie much more suited to a summer releasing, it also had to battle Harry Potter on the SAME weekend. And don't even mention the moron who made the trailer, since it gave away all the plot points and spoilers for the movie. No wonder no one watched it after that. I also enjoyed Sinbad, and admit that my knowledge as to why that movie failed is limited, but Treasure Planet didn't fail because it was a bad movie. It failed because Disney didn't want it to succeed and they practically admitted it.

It's funny because it works both ways. To me, Merida from Brave is an unlikable genderbent version of Hiccup from How To Train Your Dragon and Elsa from Frozen is an unlikable genderbent version of Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians. I think consistently, Disney makes better movies. But their amazing movies are few and far between. Dreamworks makes average movies, but when they make a good one, it's stunning.
@seikotaro35996 жыл бұрын
Or maybe you're just going off of little things in the story. 1. You're only comparing Merida to Hiccup because they're both Scottish. 2. You're only comparing Elsa to Jack Frost because of their powers. 3. If you're going to try and say one is a rip-off of the other, please do the researcha and actually watch the movie. I feel like you've only watched the trailer.

@@seikotaro3599Vikings aren't Scottish. They're Norse. And no. The story is literally exactly the same. A parent who doesn't understand what their child wants and that they are different from tradition, a "villain" that's an animal who has been terriorizing the people for years, an animal side kick that helps the mc through their journey and to discover who they really are. The only difference is the bear being Merida's mother. 2. I'm comparing Elsa to Jack because character wise, they are nearly identical. 3. I watched both movies. I disliked Brave and Frozen precisely because the main characters seemed like ripoffs of much better characters, but without any likeable qualities. That is literally my opinion.

Not to mention Dreamworks framed Disney for ripping off a film, fun fact, The Wild was in production before Madagascar, but Dreamworks made Madagascar and released it a year before The Wild so it would look like Disney ripped off Dreamworks, when in reality it was Dreamworks that ripped off Disney, thus, the real original movie was forgotten by many and only remembered for nostalgic reasons, while the real rip-off got two sequels, two specials, a spin-off, and three tv shows.

Shrek forever after wasn't a prequel it was sequel that followed the "It's a Wonderful Life" plot 3. In The Wild they don't really get back into the zoo they're just heading back 4. Ok Road to El Dorado and Emperor's New Groove don't share a similar art design and they take place two different latin american settings (Dorado=aztec Emperor=Inca) 5. aside from cgi and silent side sidekicks you guys really didn't bother trying to compare Treasure Planet and Sinbad (even people would say Treasure Planet and Titan A.E. have more similarities) 6. Oh my god Mulan and Prince of Egypt ......? Moses wasn't a warrior he was prince seriously someone must have really rushed this list 7. So Ratatouille and Flushed away shouldn't even be on this list and it was waste of time

My thoughts on this list Turbo & Cars Haven’t seen these movies Shrek & Monsters Inc I love both movies but Shrek has a great message about accepting people’s differences which gives it a slight edge. Madagascar & The Wild Haven’t seen either. Home & Mars Needs Moms Haven’t seen either. Mars Needs Moms does not appeal to me. Emperors New Groove & Road To El Dorado I have not seen Road To El Dorado. Emperor’s New Groove is such an underrated Disney film. Sinbad & Treasure Planet Haven’t seen either. Prince Of Egypt & Mulan. I love Mulan. Prince Of Egypt is high on my watch list! Flushed Away & Ratatouille Haven’t seen either Antz & A Bugs Life Haven’t seen either. Finding Nemo & Shark Tale I love Finding Nemo! Haven’t seen Shark Tale. In my book Disney/ Pixar wins!
