Play on easy a lot. One I am getting older and my reaction speed is not as fast, I have a busy life as a single dad that has custody with an 11 y/o kiddo, I have a huge backlog, and I could care less what other people think (this is just how my mental paradigm is). Also, my first console was the first Atari. People who say I am not a real gamer are clueless. If you start playing Diablo you will not stop at the campaign.

I'm kind of the same way. But I beat Battletoads and Ninja Gaiden1-3 as a kid. I have nothing to prove.

This made me want to go back to Diablo 3! I played it a lot with my friend! I can't believe some of these are just under 30 hours! Thanks, Miss Bubbles for the bubbly content!
@MissBubbles3 ай бұрын
If we stick to the main campaigns, there are a few that can be finished in under 30 hours. It makes tackling the backlog a lot more attainable!

Really solid list! Shorter RPGs are definitely what I need these days as life gets so busy 😭 And I'm with you there on playing through easy mode in games, or else I'll never get through anything if everything is set on hard/difficult 😅

I play on easy since I don't have a lot of time taking care of my disabled kid. I also grew up NES hard and I've played enough games that way.

I flipping love Trials of Mana! Also yes I usually play on easy if it's my first time playing a game. I also love playing on normal or hard mode depending on the game but with my job and having a backlog of games that I want to play, sometimes it just seems more logical to play easy mode. I want to be able to enjoy as many games as I can. C:

I play games on easy if it has a setting so I don't have to grind as much (unless I want to). I still play some hard games though and can complete those as well. If i have the choice though my time is usually better spent on easy :)

Hi Miss Bubbles, great choices for the short gaming rpg sessions. I like most of your recommendations. As for playing on easy mode... it depends on the game I am playing.. If I am playing an action hack and slash, or souls like... there is no reason to play on easy mode (even if is available), but for more relaxed experiences, or games with lots of grinding for leveling up.. then playing on easy will make life easier.. the idea of gaming in the end is for relaxing and enjoyment... not getting stressed out about very difficult bosses or repetitive tedious grinding... So.. I am with you in that one ;).. Great video! Keep it up ! Take care.

Easy mode: because I play games to relax. If I want to increase my blood pressure I'll work overtime. I loved Soul Hackers 2. It was the first game I beat on my PS5 and it's definitely one I'm going to revisit so I can get the "True Ending."

I'm going to list some of my favs, and I mainly play indies so prepare for some niche titles lol Legends of Amberland, took me around 15 hours. I only played the first one but the sequel looks very similar. It is based on the old school first-person dungeon crawlers, and captures the feel very well. My biggest issue is the difficulty curve is a bit wack, as there is a huge difficulty spike part way through, followed almost immediately by some easier segments. Dicey Dungeons, technically longer than the limit in the video for most people, but I'm cheating as it is a fairly simple roguelite. It might be a stretch to call it an RPG for how quick runs are, but you level up, gain gear, and there does appear to be a progressing story. The game involves rolling dice, then having dice and gear interact to beat the enemy. As a quick example, you can use one piece of gear to bump a rolled 3 to a 4, and then use the 4 to deal damage with a piece of gear that deals damage equal to the number used. Fates of Ort, I haven't quite finished it but seems to be around 20 hours. plays like the old top down CRPGs, and while is technically real time it has a stop time mechanic similar to SUPERHOT, giving it a more turnbased feel. Respawn points are frequent and you save progress when you die, so I think the game wants aggressive play. One warning I will give is that it is impossible to complete every quest in one playthrough, as several items are exclusive from eachother, but I feel like that adds to the charm

I'd love to recommend a few of my favorite shorter RPGs! Legend of Mana: Yeah, I'm biased, it's my favorite video game of all time. Admittedly how long or short it is kinda depends on the player and their willingness to explore, but even doing a full mission run is still relatively short, so I think casual players could still beat it in about 15-25 hours. Mato Anomalies: This is a smaller budget Chinese RPG that's great for fans of SMT and stuff. It's gritty and creepy but has solid art direction and some fun mechanics. I remember it being around 25-30 hours. Chroma Squad: This is an SRPG where you play as struggling actors trying to put together your own tokusatsu TV show and it's about 15 hours or so. It has cool mechanics like balancing damage with the "narrative" of your show, so you want to save your super flashy finisher for when you know it's gonna defeat the opponent. Honestly I could go on and on, but I think 3 is fine for now ^^;;

Great video, I play on easy too, I choose normal for some games but I never choose hard mode. I think I can win some games in hard mode but I don't like to struggle, casual gaming is more fun for me. Looking forward to more from your new series. 😊👍

As someone who has been playing Megami Tensei games for over 20 years, yeah, dungeon design has always been one of Atlus' biggest weaknesses with the franchise. I could probably list all of the MegaTen titles that have consistently good dungeons throughout most of the game on a single hand and even then I'd probably put asterisks on a few of them. I love the franchise for story, gameplay, music, art direction, and so much more...but yeah, they usually fall really short when it come to dungeons.

I've been wanting to try a Mana game before Visions releases. I've heard mixed things about Secret of Mana, but Trials of Mana sounds pretty good. Soul Hackers 2 is another one I want to try, but I am a fan of the Persona games so hopefully that won't impact my enjoyment too much as long as I try not to conpare the two.

I play easy mode. I want to relax and enjoy games, not worry that if I don't dodge just right then my character dies and my progress is lost. With Turn-Based RPGs, normal can start easy enough, but many have difficulty spikes later that make normal actually brutal. That's why I stick with easy for them too.

Atelier Marie is on my backlog, I beat Sophie 2 and Ryza 1 this year, so now I am ready for a different Atelier experience before continuing the Ryza trilogy. Sometimes I decide what I'm going to play next based on how long they say an average playthrough takes. There are just so many games and so little time. I love long games too but every game doesn't need to be 150+ and time is a limited resource. I play games on easy sometimes. When I was younger it was a point of pride to never play on easy. Now I don't care. I usually start on normal but I have no problem at all playing on easy when I feel like it.

If you're not too much afraid of older graphics and pixel art, there is a bazillion (it's way way more than a trillion) games made with RPG maker which are finishable in around 10 hours. Some are bad and boring but some are really well done. And definitly most are way cheaper, because paying 50 dollars or euros or hummm...... money for just 10 to 20 hours of game, that will leave a bitter taste in my mouth and mind. So 2 free rpg games available on steam and finishable in under 10 hours: *excaliburian: simple, it's a 10 hours final fantasy. The quality is exeptional for a free game. The only default, the story is not outstanding. Not bad, far from that but very....classic. And everything else is so well made, it's definitly worth a try. It's short and free, a very good in between two big games. *blood wizard odyssey: beware graphics will tear your eyes out, but overall quite funny. Also, i really enjoyed assassin's creed origins. Coudn't finish odyssey but origins was really really good. But i didn't spend only 20 or even 30 or even 80 hours in it ;) ....okay, maybe i did some side quests and explorations too. Good continuation :)
