@drekberg, THANK YOU for covering a little about absorption! Hardly anyone does. A lot of us are getting leaky gut and it's cascading into autoimmun,malabsorption, thyroid, histamine, lethargy & other health problems. I need to learn how to supplement correctly so I actually get some of benefits. I moved into mostly carn-vore + some (low histamine)prebiotic foods and clearly am not absorbing as much as I should but at least now my sugar-carbs-seed oils are over with!

What do you think about the people that say an all fruit and vegetable diet is enough. They say you dont need the protein, you just need the amino acids and that's enough to grow muscle and maintain. They argue that gorillas eat this way and are extremely strong animals. I'm a weight lifter, I cant imagine feeling well and gaining on an only fruit and veggie diet. What do you think?

After my heart attack several years ago, the cardiologists wanted me to reduce protein intake to reduce cholesterol. At 6-7 oz per day I was having a number of the issues listed here. Then my regular doctor did a fasting blood sugar test and found I was pre diabetic. Did some research and realized, I'd been eating too many simple carbs and too much sugar over the years. The diet they had me on with all the fruit and grains was not helping. Then I saw Dr. Sean O'Mara's presentations on visceral fat, and read several studies showing insulin resistance is as much, if not more of a cause of hardening arteries than cholesterol. My subQ fat was pretty low. Shifting back to more good proteins, much less simple carbs, and eliminating sugar had an amazing result. My subQ fat that was already low stayed the same yet, I lost 3 inches in my waist. All visceral fat. No. I don't do a carnivore diet, but I do eat more protein, mostly slow digesting complex carbs, and now use nuts for my snacks when I want something, not carbs. The increase in protein also eliminated or at least reduced some of the issues shown here that started with the low protein diet they had me on. Am in the process of learning what the best balance for my body is.

Don’t eat while at work ! I have a very stressful work like all healthcare jobs and I realized every single dam time I eat someth even no sugar no carbs , my glucose goes nuts . I tested many times. Stress doesn’t let you process food properly, and no wonder absorption of protein is affected too. I drink my protein shakes at work but I will stop doing that . I’d rather wake up at 6 am have an hour of relaxing time to have brkfast and protein shake couple if hours before going work.

hello thank you very much for all your videos and explications, that help me à lot. I have more questions et some doubts. Now there à lot of articles that say do not eat meat any more, for more rasons : they explain for exemple 1) the cow do not eat meat but only grass and it has no problem to create proteins for its body, 2) our intestine is like intestine of cow, it is very long and it is not a carnivore intestine which are much shorter and therefore the meat takes too long to pass the human intestines and in the meantime creates putrefaction et toxins, What do you respond to these observations ? thank you in advance for answer, à very good day

It is the government’s in with big pharmaceutical companies that are scaring the public about how bad and evil red meat is. Yet many of the government officials eat red meat themselves. They say not to use gas in car or drive SUV because of the ‘’climate crisis’’ They often fly around the world in private jets that cause far more pollution than 1 car does. Big Pharma makes money if we are sick, They donate lots of $$$$$ to American Heart Association. Doctors and cardiologists try put almost very patient (over a certain age) on statin drugs, $$$ for big pharma. Diabetes is the big reason for heart issues and not red meat. There are cardiologists on KZbin here that are carnivores as well or low carb and they say too many carbs are biggest reason for heart disease due to carbs having being hugely responsible for people developing diabetes.

Intriguing; I do have a lot of symptoms, but like you say, it might not be due to low intake. However, I have *_histamine intolerance (low DAO production), sensitivity to cow's milk, and sensitivity to eggs._* Beef is high in histamine (as is any aged meat and who knows how long the lamb and chicken has been around). What protein source would you recommend, please? I eat macadamia nuts (low histamine), sheep and goat cheese, goat yogurt, and homemade goat milk kefir. *I also have gut disbiosis **_even after 1.5 years of clean eating and prolonged and intermittent fasting_** as per a Thorne gut test.* I'm very frustrated after all this work. And I never even ATE the SAD?!

For gut dysbiosis a regimented structure around meals gets the system moving eg every 3-4hrs in a 12hr eating window (eg 7, 10, 1, 4, 7) enables gut to reset and adequate nutrients ingestion. I got results in less than 2weeks
@allhimwithme5115
@allhimwithme5115 Ай бұрын
@@fonpol4925 That's not exactly the regimen for disbiosis which is an imbalance of good and bad bacteria. It's more for SIBO, an overgrowth in the small intestines, because that schedule triggers the MMC, migrating motor complex, that cleans out the small intestine instead of allowing food to back up where it shouldn't be fostering bacterial growth and fermentation in the small intestine. Glad you got your SIBO under control; that's a tough nut to crack!

This is completely off topic. I have been binge watching your videos you have a gift for explaining things top notch videos! In your practice I'm guessing you have seen plenty of people with CFS/ME, lyme, mold related illness, others with MCS or GWS? Have you ever had any success treating any of these types of patients? I've had CFS for 28 years. I suspect it's from toxic exposures. Pesticides, fumes, welding, bodywork, occupational exposure fiberglass paints, solvents. I am thinking about arranging an appointment with someone on your team. My major symptoms are food and mold reactivity, gut inflammation bloating, Post exertional malaise flue like symptoms, dizziness, weak, no stamina, can't focus concentrate, problem solving issues, no stamina. I'm 65, 5' 6" 140lbs. I was bed ridden before I moved out of my moldy house 24 years ago I can care for myself and engage in light activity like sitting in front of my computer not much more than that. I was tested for lyme and arsenic, lead and mercury once or twice can't remember. Many times I think there might be metabolic issues that drive some maybe all of my symptoms. I've been doing a lot of the things you preach minus the high fat low carb. Thinking about the carnivore diet out of desperation. If my symptoms are being driven by diet limiting my intake to just fatty meats might help me isolate what I am sensitized to. Although I think I might be sensitized to meat might have Alpha-gal syndrome?

Thank you @Deoxyboz. Some people can do very well with vegan, but I don't think vegan is optimal for most people. How well someone does and how well they utilize plant protein and other nutrients will depend on several factors including genetic predisposition, but also very much on the microbiome.😄

Most protein in veggies, nuts, seeds, legumes, and grains isn't as bioavailable as the protein in animal products. They are also laden with varying anti-nutrients which prevent you from absorbing varying minerals. This diet is lacking or low in so many things including Vitamin A, collagen, creatine, zinc, B12, DHA, etc. Long-term plant based diets are great way to get autoimmune diseases and a variety of digestive issues like IBS, SIBO,ZINC etc.

I have a huge salad, a cooked vegetable and a ribeye steak or chicken and I’m stuffed. I can’t eat anymore and I can’t gain weight it’s driving me absolutely bonkers. I’ve been trying for over a year to gain weight and I cannot get over 130 and I’m back down to 127 so yeah it’s what I weighed when I was 29. A calorie is a calorie is a calorie. We should be looking at macronutrients for health, not just calories. If you eat nothing but starch (or protein, or fat) you are still ingesting calories, but you won’t be healthy unless you consume the macronutrients required for health. Every g of protein contains 4 calories, and so does every gram of starch, but calories are a measure of heat/energy produced by burning a particular food ingested and does not have anything to do with nutrients in that food.

Being over 80, I need more protein to keep bone mass, trying to consume a min. of 100 g. per day. Yes, I’d like to lose 10 pounds, but keeping muscle is my highest priority. The protein increase shocked my bowels,but increasing fiber corrected constipation issue. Truth is aging requires working with balancing several concerns.
@pat4005
@pat4005 3 ай бұрын
You most likely were not eating the needed amount of the animal fats along WITH the protein. Eating fiber is unnecessary. The change to eating less fiber was the problem. You probably shocked it because you did it all at once, not a little decrease at a time while adding the animal fats. I brought this up because you did not say that you were also getting the right amount of any animal fats along with the protein intake, at the same time, which leads me to believe that you do not know that you should be doing this! Fiber is just slowing down and clogging up your digestive tract. Eating animal protein AND the necessary amount of animal fat will allow your body's intestinal tract to heal and absorb it. Eating fiber that will never be used for anything is foolish. You don't need fiber to push out anything other than more of itself because the animal protein AND animal fat WILL BE BROKEN-DOWN AND ABSORBED! And of course drinking enough water to keep hydrated throughout the day, (no matter what you eat), is what will keep you free from constipation.

Good information to help see there could be other reasons for protein deficiency. For me as an older person who eats quite healthily (no sugar, processed foods or gluten), it has taken awhile to realize my stomach acid wasn't doing a good job breaking down my food. I have now been adding about 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to 2 tablespoons of olive oil which I drink as I begin to eat a meal. It has made a big difference in how I feel after eating (hardly any bloating) and am gradually noticing how much better I feel overall -- I guess more nutrients are being utilized as the foods are being broken down so much better. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge to guide us to better health.

@@jr.6199 nobody wants to do studies on it. I find it interesting that even with an entire population of n=1, when people are saying how their health has improved, their medical markers have improved, and their quality of life has improved, people still want to say "But you are going to die from too much meat ( despite all the medical markers indicating otherwise). Would it be too embarrassing if it is shown that the information given previously was incorrect? People do studies with the outcome already in mind, and when it doesn't match their hypothesis, it gets buried, or the study is not done in the first place if they suspect it might be embarrassing. But if individuals are improving their health, why not let them? Their doctors are doing tests and their health is improving and they aren't dropping dead of cardiovascular disease, as many HOPE they would.

@Metqa whose doctors, what results ? Why is your answer conjecture about its all bias and conspiracy, why no facts, there must be some peer reviewed findings to post... The only points against Loma Linda findings of a longer healthy life on plants is that the results might also result from Loma Linda's lifestyle or genectics. So we need studies that exclude these two factors on meat-only. But hard to argue that the plant-only diets hurt them...
