I've put together a small list of food styling tools, most of which you probably have lying around the house, that will help you take your food photography to the next level. The majority of these items I have picked up at arts & craft stores but if you can't find them there, I've left links below to all the items on Amazon. Full disclosure, these are affiliate links, you can use these links or search out your own, up to you in case you can't find something local. If you have any food styling tools you use, I will have a 'part 2' coming out this fall, would love to see what you use in the comments below. Enjoy the video and happy shooting!

This is by no means a complete list, but an inexpensive and easily accessible list of items to help take your photos to the next level.

Some really cool tips, tricks, and tools in this one, especially the glycerin...never thought about that before! Good to see you are still putting your chef tools to good use! It's amazing all the things needed to make the food look amazing in photos - it's not quite as simple as cooking the food to perfection and plating it, is it? Great stuff as always Chris! Hope you are doing well!

Thanks Paul! The chef tools stay well worn, the wife won't let me put them away for good. I used to be a big proponent of shooting it straight from the kitchen but the stress of getting it all shot before the food dies has become a hindrance, so I've had to resort to doing more actual styling, Things here in CO are good, hope you are doing well in the heat and humidity!

Great info, like the foam idea. Is there any way you could let me know the brand name of the plate you used in “ How to shoot food with just window light”

Hey Wayne, thanks for watching! The plate I used in that video was from Crate & Barrel, it's a Hue Dinner Plate, they are about $6-$7 a piece. I bought it several years ago but I assume they still have them, they were quite popular. Hope you find it!
