Kingdom Come deliverance is the single most immersive game I have ever played. I literally spent hours just hanging out at taverns and playing dice... My only real gripe with the game and the one thing I'd caution people about is the combat. Not that it's bad, but it's got quite a skill ceiling if you're new to these type of games and it's especially frustrating when you're fighting more than 1 opponent, because the mechanics seem to be designed for 1v1. But again, an utterly immersive game. A beautiful and authentic medieval setting, great music, great acting, and a good/great story all accumulates into the most immersive game I have played.

@noahevans4510 Жыл бұрын
I played through KCD last year and these are my thoughts. Kingdom Come Deliverance 4/10 Kingdom Come Deliverance is a hard game to review because it presents itself as such a mixed bag. The game truly has so much potential, but it has so many drawbacks that consistently ruined my experience. When it shines KCD presented a fantastic novel worthy story, interesting characters, and fantastic depth while simultaneously plagued from frequent bugs, horrendous combat, and general unpolish at every turn. The game plays like a medieval sim with an emphasis on realism and survival. The systems and RPG elements of the game are innovative and really cool. I loved details like my character learning to read, ride a horse, and more. I played as a high charisma character and was able to talk myself out of most combat encounters or skip quests entirely, which was super rewarding to see the game respond in such a manner. The perk and leveling system also shines too with a plethora of intersting buff and debuffs. The RPG systems are fully developed and are frankly one of the reasons I kept playing. Bar none the best part of KCD is the quests. The game has a gritty but charming personality. The dialoge and humor kept me engaged in a way that doesn't often happen tok. The game is full of unique but believable characters too. I find my self torn in writing this review however, because while KCD has one of the best narrarive I've ever played it also has some of the worst gameplay for any modern RPG. The gameplay itself is slow, monotonous, and glitchy as hell. Looting, notoriety, crafting, item maintenance, etc. are all terrible. Beyond the dull gameplay KCD is also plagued by a plethora of glitches and awful combat. When the game released in 2018 was infamous for its glitches. In 2022 so many of these still remain. Many times over I lost 30+ minutes of gameplay due to bugs or crashes. One of the contributing problems is a needlessly restricive quick save system. You have to pay IN-GAME currency (about 130 gold) to quick save, which is ridiculous when completing a mission may offer 300-600 gold. If you quick save to protect from glitches, then you'll frequently eat into your profit. If you dont quick save, you'll repeat hours of gameplay due to the numerous and frequent bugs. This system is made worse by the numerous game crashes, collision glitches, and failed missions due to nonsensical AI. I estimate I had to reload saves 15-20 times due to glitches, sometimes costing me more than an hour's worth of time. It happened multiple times each session. Another problem I have with KCD is the combat. The combat is TERRIBLE. Absolute trash. I don't think I've ever played a game with worse combat - including titles like Daggerfall (1997) or Zelda 2 (1987). It's needlessly complicated, ineffective, random, and (once again) glitchy as heck. From the first fight until the final duel I dreaded combat encounters. I spent most of my time "cheeseing" rather than fighting. As I played, I wanted to like KCD but also found myself growing increasingly more annoyed by its shortcomings. I'm conflicted to rate a game with such a great campaign so low, but I can't excuse giving it anything higher because of the drawbacks. At first I tried to turn a blind eye to the problems, but by the end of the campaign I was rushing to finish the narrative praying that I wouldn't have to draw my sword on anyone or be bogged down by glitches. KCD has so much potential but in the end it was only a let down. 4/10

Gotta mention Morrowind. I know it's hard to get into for a lot of people, because it's a little janky in the early game, but it's honestly one of the best stories ever told in a fantasy setting. Some people hate the lack of quest markers, but I love it, it really encourages exploration and discovery, and even now, with more than five thousand hours invested, I'm still discovering new stuff. It also has one of the most active modding communities out there - there's always a new mod to check out. Hell, I'M working on a mod for it. It's got an awesome story, memorable characters, an incredible world, great music, and is just a delight to immerse yourself in.

I strongly second this. If you find the combat and movement system lacking, run to Balmora and get urself the upgrade spell and then go craft urself a special spell. Soul trap plus upgrade skill. Fantastic series, particularly ME1 & 2. ME3 had great moments but I wasn’t a fan of some of the writing in that game, particularly how the Illusive Man went from being a nuanced, complex character in the previous game to a more one-dimensional “evil” antagonist in ME3.
@timmurray29452 ай бұрын
For all the criticism the ending got. I doubt we will ever get a trilogy like it again whereby your choices carry across into the next game. A great cast of companions that you can build relationships with over multiple games. You can miss out on entire quest lines entirely either by accident, or by your own decisions. You can lose beloved characters through a miscalculation and ultimately you feel responsible. I will always love the ME trilogy for these reasons.

#11 Mass Effect trilogy. I really have strong bias for ME3, because before it came out my dad died in 2010, and when this game came out it was at the right time for me and it helped me go through rough time because of my dad dying. One of the main themes constantly repeated in ME3 is HOPE and going against all odds. You will hear this from Shepard, Garrus, Anderson, Javik, Vega, heck even Joker and EDI. Also going back at it, 3rd game is actually helluva lot better written and structured then ME2. ME2 had cool side ("loyalty") missions, but when you take it out, main story is very flat and somewhat weak, alto at the time this game was such huge technical improvement over first game.

Dude totally agree. But I’d say play Skyrim first then oblivion and morrowind as it takes some dedication to get into the old style version of the predecessors.

How do you enjoy it? The boring side quests, exploring is because you wanna find cool things to help your journey as you progress but then you fine a sword you have to wait to some certain level to be able to use it even the armor hours of grinding but you can’t wear it yet and the talking is just too much that it makes you bored and they make the player interact way too much in dialogue and you have to keeping questioning and they just talk and talk and talk due I wanna play game not watch a damn cutscene how do you finish the game 5 times? Wow I can’t finish the first play through the only thing I enjoy is battle of kaer moern and his skills move is the same

I will never understand how one can choose Inquisition over Origins. Other than that, a great list of 100+ hours single player games. I would personally ad Monster hunter world though. It's mainly advertised as an online co op game but playing through it in single player is actually a great experience.
@islandrepublic916611 ай бұрын
I DONT think thats the general consensus BUT lets be objective INQUISTION with all the DLC is an 8.5 game though ORIGINS in my book is 9.7 probably the best game I have ever played.
@sadscientisthououinkyouma18676 ай бұрын
Origins is the better game, but Inquisition also brings stuff to the table along with still looking good. As long as we all agree there are only 2 Dragon Age games, there is nothing between Origins and Inquisition.

Definitely recommending Dying Light for this list. While the main quest can be easily done in a few hours, grinding for better gears and leveling up really takes a long while, and it doesn't get boring too fast, 'cuz duh. Parkour and zombie head bashing goes extremely well together. Sometimes, I even surprise myself about new areas that I haven't explored since I'm way too preoccupied at just going from point A to point B and that exploring Harran just feels... Well, refreshing, to say the least. There's also the multiplayer mode, once you get too bored doing things alone.

This will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I’d say AC: Valhalla. That game is not a great “assassin’s creed” game, but it’s a fantastic “Viking role play” game. The combat is amazing, and if you put 100 hours in, it only gets more and more deep.

Black Flag is another one that still holds up to this day. Wish it would get a Remaster with next gen graphics. Very solid pirate gameplay and I could easily spend hours sailing the seas, raiding ships, and searching every last nook and cranny of the map while my crew sings shanties.

Dragons Dogma was a seriously awesome RPG. I had never played a game with so many mythical creatures. Also I had never played a game where you could actually climb monsters. It is a crazy cool game and can be difficult which also makes it awesome. Another great thing about it is you can borrow a partner from other players online called Pawns. Or you can borrow a pawn from someone on your friends list. Pawns aid you in future battles making it alot of fun. Dragons Dogma is in my top 10 favorite RPG games of all time that includes all the mmorpgs as well.
